The second is, his body is breaking down, and only he knows why...
Third, the PGA players don't fear him anymore....That was a tremendous edge he had...Tyson had....Tiger had it...but not anymore....would not be surprised if he does not win another major.....there is a lot of pressure on him to win won, and every year that goes by without one, the pressure builds up....
When all is said and done, Jack will still be considered the greatest....most majors....most second place finishes in majors....faced tougher competition than Tiger.....and he did, on a number of occasions, something Tiger has never done, come from behind and and win a major.....
It has less to do with his swing coach, body breaking down, players fearing him etc than putting
Tiger was the best clutch putter in the history of golf. He made every single putt he needed to plus he made more putts overall than anyone else, especially in majors.
When was the last time Tiger made a meaningful putt in a major. He cant save pars when needed and he does not make birdies when needed.
Every player has gone through this with age and it does not improve as you get older
Well you can't or shouldn't frar someone who isn't winning
so yeah, it's obvious that's the case which isn't saying much. If/when he starts winning again I can easily see the pressure being too much for many golfers all over again.
Health + a ridiculous shirt game is what him him great. If he can tap into that combo again then other golfers will take notice.
was one of the biggest reasons he was #1 and it has been absent for 3 years. But his Driving/ball striking has become pedestrian. Always in the rough or in bad position. If he can get back to getting the ball in the fairway, it will take pressure off the putting.
I agree that a driver in his hands is a 50/50 proposition. His clutch putting lasts 4
holes and then poof, it's gone. But one thing I've noticed he very rarely gets the good bounce, maybe when you are going good you get the bounces, you hit a tree and end up in the fairway, or putts that might lip out go in. Tiger when he gets in trouble, ends up in deep trouble. I think he could fix his driving, but consistent putting might be a thing of the past
why Tiger might have chosen Chris Como is
he's of the same leanings as Michael Jacobs who contributed to this article on Golf Digest.
Brandel Chamblee and Frank Nobilo had a debate on the Golf Channel on this topic.
Como is affiliated with a network of teachers that share a similar philosophy.
Tiger's recent swing has a lot more forward shaft lean than his earlier swings. It's really hard to hit the driver straight with that much forward lean. What Tiger should do. - ( New Window )
that would get response and views other than Tiger. Not a one. When he goes, golf will go the way Tennis on TV went after McEnroe Birg and Connors left the scene. Nobody cared about Pete Sampras, maybe Andre Agassi had a little juice. McIlroy is not must see TV yet. People watch to root for Tiger, people watch Tiger to shit the bed, but no Tiger, 40 percent of the viewership disappears

This is true for the most part. Golf won't go the way of tennis, it has a much higher following. The only other golfer with any viewership juice is Phil Mickleson who isn't the draw Tiger is and he is starting to fade.
I could careless about McIlroy. If Bubba Watson got semi consistent he could be a bit of a draw.
Then there are, frankly, a bunch of JAGs.
had balls of steel, fearless, but we know he's done. Bubba under the microscope comes up as a bit of a dickhead. Every young Japanese golfer that is supposed to be the next big thing, isn't. Jordan Spieth like Jason Dufner, got hat then flatlined. Spieth is very young and could still be the guy. But I'm looking forward to Tiger playing in December
People said the game wouldn't survive the loss of Palmer and Nicklaus arrived. Jack gave way to Watson and Payne, and Nick Faldo. You go to tournaments now and the galleries are huge for Phil, Rory and Rickie Fowler. Tiger is still the biggest draw as far as ratings, but the game doesn't disappear when Tiger isn't in it.

He's done.
Sad, but how true it is... - ( New Window )
He's done.
Under this logic
Phil Mickelson
Steve Stricker
and K.J. Choi
are done too ---
It's too easy to say that being 40 is a reason to be done
I for one don't choose to believe it - and I think Como is a good coach for Tiger - Tiger has a few more Titles to win iho

100% correct.
What would I do with myself?
