Kevin Boss Stops By to Say Goodbye

Eric from BBI : Admin : 11/23/2014 12:06 am
Good Newsday article...
Ex-Giants TE Kevin Boss to watch his old team play for first time as fan - ( New Window )
I'm glad he's having a nice life now
islander1 : 11/23/2014 12:25 am : link
He'll always be fondly remembered by me.
Very happy for him...

He was able to be an important part of a Super Bowl winning team, make about $10M throughout his career, and get out of the game before it ruined his health for life.

As for going to Oakland, he did the right thing and the Giants did the right thing, so there can be no bad feelings. Oakland screwed up, but if you're going to blow $8M on a guy who only plays one injury-riddled year with your team, at least it wasn't on a jerk. The Giants gave him great memories and the Raiders set him up for life (so he should have some loyalty to them as well).
Kevin Boss: Best to you and your family

Really enjoyed watching you play. Best of luck in wherever life takes you.
Awesome

"Spending four years there, it makes me now consider that home,'' he said. "That's the team that we're going to raise our boys to be fans of. Giants fans.''
He took more than his share of licks while he was here.

Best wishes to him post-football.
I loved Boss

I really hope this guy doesn't end up with dementia by the time he's 40. He had to have racked up double digit concussions during his career. I think he had 2 or 3 his one year in Oakland alone.
wow

Drew Bledsoe and Kevin Boss on the football coaching staff for the same high school? That's a lucky team.

Consummate pro and he had a hell of a run in '07. Will forever be grateful to him and wish him nothing but the best.

Agree with the above poster. Bledsoe and Boss on the same HS coaching staff? That's a lifetime of great football experience right there.
I always think of him Super Bowl catch and run

when I hear his name. Even though he had to go to Oakland to get his payday, I am glad he got it. He made the right decision to retire after those concussions. Wish the best to Kevin and his family in his post football life.
Anyone remember that fantasy football commercial

He was in ? I think he caught a ball through plywood ? Anyway always liked the guy , glad he's a giants fan . Maybe someone should let him know , if he's a REAL giants fan he needs to come on BBI !
I wish

he had signed a one day contract with us before he retires
He was a tough SOB
Gman11 : 11/23/2014 8:57 am : link
Too many hits to the noggin did him in.
Who's the Boss?
Chicken Teriyaki Boy : 11/23/2014 9:13 am : link
Kevin is.
Glad to hear he's doing well
jcn56 : 11/23/2014 9:19 am : link
damn shame that he couldn't play longer, but he definitely did well for himself and got a ring in the process. Best of luck to him.

a fond memory
It seemed like every Kevin Boss reception ended the same way..

Him leaving his feet, getting upended and landing on his head/shoulders.

Very good, productive player during his short time though.
Echoing those sentiments ...

Best regards and best of luck in your future Kevin!!! ... Yeah ... He was a TALL TE ... and Eli consistently threw the ball way too high !!! Go figure!!! ;)
A shame his career ended short
micky : 11/23/2014 12:19 pm : link
or recent TE's he was my favorite. Still seeing him in SB42 rumbling up the seam on that catch for a long gain.
Very
AcidTest : 11/23/2014 1:14 pm : link
happy for him. Got a ring. Got paid. Hopefully, his concussions won't prevent him from continuing his good life.
AMEN!
Blackbeard : 11/23/2014 1:34 pm : link
to all that!
Hopefully coaching is a start to another good career for him
GloryDayz : 11/23/2014 2:20 pm : link
Still very young, good professional experience, and a ring to show for it. He seems like a smart, well grounded guy... He could find himself going through the college circuit, and back on the NFL sidelines in no time.
