He was able to be an important part of a Super Bowl winning team, make about $10M throughout his career, and get out of the game before it ruined his health for life.
As for going to Oakland, he did the right thing and the Giants did the right thing, so there can be no bad feelings. Oakland screwed up, but if you're going to blow $8M on a guy who only plays one injury-riddled year with your team, at least it wasn't on a jerk. The Giants gave him great memories and the Raiders set him up for life (so he should have some loyalty to them as well).
"Spending four years there, it makes me now consider that home,'' he said. "That's the team that we're going to raise our boys to be fans of. Giants fans.''
He took more than his share of licks while he was here.
I really hope this guy doesn't end up with dementia by the time he's 40. He had to have racked up double digit concussions during his career. I think he had 2 or 3 his one year in Oakland alone.
when I hear his name. Even though he had to go to Oakland to get his payday, I am glad he got it. He made the right decision to retire after those concussions. Wish the best to Kevin and his family in his post football life.
He was in ? I think he caught a ball through plywood ? Anyway always liked the guy , glad he's a giants fan . Maybe someone should let him know , if he's a REAL giants fan he needs to come on BBI !
Best regards and best of luck in your future Kevin!!! ... Yeah ... He was a TALL TE ... and Eli consistently threw the ball way too high !!! Go figure!!! ;)
Still very young, good professional experience, and a ring to show for it. He seems like a smart, well grounded guy... He could find himself going through the college circuit, and back on the NFL sidelines in no time.

Agree with the above poster. Bledsoe and Boss on the same HS coaching staff? That's a lifetime of great football experience right there.
Very good, productive player during his short time though.
