8-3 in the playoffs?
Isn't this just common sense?
okiegiant : 11/23/2014 11:18 am : link
Unless you are an irrational just can't stand Manning person?

Two time Super Bowl MVP who led game winning drives or a guy who has never been there...jeez, who should I take?

Something he barely touched on...

was the team around him. I know he mentioned our O-line this year. However, from what I can recall.... our losses to the Cowboys in the past have really not been Eli's fault (for the most part). We have had some serious defensive breakdowns. In fact, I think I remember us giving up about 40 points in the game in Dallas a couple of years ago???
This is stupid

In the games that mattered most between them, Eli has been the victor

Agree with the article, but I believe it is fair

to say that knowledgeable NFL fans, if asked, would take Romo over Eli by a significant margin. Same with NFL coaches. Perception is everything.

Really? You post on here and haven't seen people suggesting we move on? Heck they're was a huge thread by Sy about the Giants needing to focus on a QB early in the draft ?
I've seen a few people posting the Giants need to move on...

from Manning, and I usually ignore their posts for obvious reasons.

Wow...
damdevs : 11/23/2014 12:09 pm : link
Yup...I'm gonna take a guy who is a China Doll with 2 back surgeries, older and who has never sniffed any success in the playoffs over a guy who leads all of the QBs in consecutive starts (171) by a wide margin, 2 time SB MVP and Champ.

Yup....makes perfect sense!

Never ceases to amaze me at the stupity and lack of common sense when it comes to Eli. Never seen a guy get shit on more than him...even by people who are fans of the team in which he plays for.
Sy'56 time to move on from Eli

Trade Eli for a number one, give Nassib a shot. They stuff that is written here about a Franchise QB must make the fans in say Tampa Bay think BBI is actually an insane asylum

Yeah. Really. If he wants to write about the Giants moving on from Eli, fine. Does he have to do it by comparing a two-time Super Bowl MVP to a quarterback who folds like a cheap suit at crunch time? No.
If Eli Had the Cowboy OL
Samiam : 11/23/2014 12:44 pm : link
I could be a starting WR on that team and they'd win some games.
Eli will be fine
Paulie Walnuts : 11/23/2014 1:09 pm : link
Reese has let him down with no OL...

Sy was pretty roundly roasted for his thread.

Most people on BBI who want to move on or are open to it aren't feeling that way because they think Manning sucks; they feel that way because the team sucks and isn't likely going to not suck any time soon, making a 33 year old QB that can't turn water into wine and shit into platinum not very, if at all, valuable to them.

What a shitty puff piece designed to appeal to Giants fans. It is certainly true but means nothing moving forward.

I do think Sy'56's thread is being misconstrued to some extent. What he said is that "IF" the Giants felt they could grab or had a QB to replace Manning....that they should strongly consider making a move. The problem for the informed/casual fan is that there is no obvious Andrew Luck waiting in the wings thus they can't comprehend the Giants making such a move.

The problem the Giants find themselves in is they have a 2 time Super Bowl MVP that may or may not be able to play up to a future contract that is reflective of his past accomplishments. It's all well and good to look backwards and say...look what he has done...how can we get rid of him? But what really matters is what can he do for the Giants over the next 3-5 years and placing a value on that performance.

All Blomo's ever done in the big time pressure is come up short. Jeez, how is this even a conversation? Eli Manning is the most maligned two time Super Bowl winning QB ever. What the heck do some of you want from the guy?
I would prefer
jLefty : 11/23/2014 3:44 pm : link
a quick agile mobile QB who can run for first downs and when pressured can run around and create a reception.

Like Vick or Bob, right?
Both are damn good qbs

Romo has the better career ff numbers while Eli has the big swinging dick numbers. You're remembered by the biggest of moments.
Puff piece? Gary Myers?
Headhunter : 11/23/2014 4:03 pm : link
on the Giants? You all must be living outside of New York Metropolitan area. Myers has been and always does the fire Coughlin column first. This guy hates the Giants. Puff piece? Hahahaha
Hell of a time
AnishPatel : 11/23/2014 4:53 pm : link
to write this article. Eli, off a 5 int game, on a team with a shitty record, and Romo and Dallas who are having a winning season.

Why not write this shit when Eli won his 2nd SB? Interesting timing of this article.

Well Gary Myers is clueless.
HelmetCatch : 11/23/2014 5:29 pm : link

Vikings?

I guess after our 2nd SB with Eli we must have not played Dallas for a bit. He could have wrote the article then.
