But I do t see what he can do when your defensive line is void of talent. I don't see any defensive coordinator being effective with a pass rush like this.
He sucks, the talent sucks, the entire defense is just a steaming

The Redskins brought an all out blitz and had great blitz design. Our blitz design is running out LB into an OL and hope our DE gets there.
such that Romo has ten seconds to throw the ball. So you throw exactly the same four men at Romo and expect better results. A decent QB can find an open receiver if he has all day to throw the ball. Change SOMETHING up. Personnel. Bring another rusher. Something.
Exactly I was wondering the same thing??!! How do you not have Moore or Ayers?? WTF??! On a struggling front four and you don't blitz one time?? Fewell is just plain horrible..
.. not trusting these DB's in man to man coverage but what the hell is the point of just rushing 4 against the Cowboy OL and giving Tony Romo 500 seconds to throw the ball?
I would have rather sent extra men and made Romo get the ball out fast. If they beat 1 on 1's and score fast, so be it.. it leaves us more time anyway.
Terrible way to play that series and you knew they were going to score. It was just a matter of time. Garbage.

Arc, u nailed it there in bold
That's too sophisticated thinking for Perry Futile. We must rush 4. With Kiwi and no Moore. Why? Just because

but they'll give him a mulligan and he'll be back likely.
No way. If anyone is losing their job this year he's the guy. There's no question about it. There's really no way they can keep him after this.. even if we are of the belief that the personnel is mostly shitty (which it is), you just can't excuse a year like this and not hold anyone accountable.
He'll be fired and everyone can rejoice. I just hope the next guy gets a little more than this to work with because if he doesn't, not a whole lot is going to change in terms of results. I do feel that we could find someone better, though... depending on who shakes free. We'd probably have to fire Coughlin to hire a defensive minded coach like Bowles or Quinn, though.
Unless someone like Rivera gets fired and is willing to take a coordinator job.
but Eli's awful pass to Parker is where the game turned.
lol. Sure it did.
If you don't think this game turned on the int you are completely clueless. I'll allow for Eli to be credited with a damn good grade tonight but dude, stop... The game turned on a dime right there and you know it. Don't throw fuxking stats or defensive breakdowns at me. If Eli hits a wide open WR we may very well win tonight.
to not trust the DBs. You've got an 8 million dollar man in DRC, have some confidence in him vs Dez. Terrence Williams is alright but not someone you don't blitz on account of.
I think last night was a perfect example of why Perry's only good stretch against good competition was in 2011 when the pass rush stepped up.
I can't remember the last time a Giants' blitz consistently worked and overwhelmed/confused the opposition.
Maybe against Vick a few years ago when Rolle was blitzing him from the right side?

I agree he should be gone..but no way is Mara undermining TC again this offseason. PF is TC's guy.

He did it against IND a few weeks ago. We were throwing all kinds of different looks at Luck and it was actually working fairly well in the first half.. but the offense was completely inept that night and couldn't do anything and eventually the floodgates opened up.
At least he tried to force Luck into getting the ball out quick. I'm not sure what the goal was tonight. Sitting back like that and rushing 4 against this Dallas OL is signing up to die a slow, painful death.
Since they had to get a TD, he was pretty clearly trying to get them to just make a mistake or run out of time or downs. Stupid and didn't work. I hated it.
As the Giants approached the goal line to go up 24-20 I just hoped they would use up all of the clock. I had zero faith our D led by PF would stop them. He is a terrible DC. The guys that were out there were gassed. Instead of rotating in other guys and blitzing he does neither. Time for him to go. Save the crap about talent. Good DCs have done more with less.
I have ever seen. Hard to really put any blame on anybody in coverage there. He had nine seconds to throw! Unheard of. Now Fewell's blitzes are generally awful, but to not try anything else there is pretty hard to understand.
And Ayers had to be hurt. Although I wouldn't put it past this DC to just not have him out there.
Have a beer on me. I agree with you that talent issues are there, but unfortunately the PF issues are also real. Just knew after the INT that the D would give up a quick TD. PF's been dealt a weak hand, but he is not getting the best out of it and is not making some obvious personnel moves that he could. What bothers me most is what is TC's culpability? I really like TC but these poor D coordinator hires (and Tom Quinn) are his decisions...
For a guy who plays as much passive D as you can because he is worried about giving up big plays , they give up more big plays than any other D in the league
They attack nothing and are on their heels all the time
If you are going to give up 30 PTS a game you may as well be aggressive
exactly what would happen...I'm just grateful to the defense for at least leaving our offense with a full minute to come back...very nice of them, really.
is hanging by a thread. IF they don't show insane progress on offense for the rest of the season, mind you last night was a start, he's gone too.
But again, if they score 28 per the rest of the way, and let's say they finish 6-10 and knock off Philly just for shits...they MIGHT bring Coughlin back and demand a change at DC.
But I don't think they knock off Philly and avg 28 ppg the rest of the way. If they sort of ho hum their way to 3 wins, let's say knocking off Wash, Tenn and JAx, and don't really inspire too much confidence along the way? Coughlin's gone.
Fewell is gone no matter what in my view. Even if they played like the 85 bears these next 5 games it's too late. John MAra wanted that game last night. That loss will bother him and leave a mark.
but it's hard to make chicken salad out of chicken shit. His LB's suck. His safeties suck. His DE's suck. Look at opponents' passing figures in the middle of the field. Teams are completing over 70% of their passes, and it's because we have no players in the middle of the defense. Shitty LB's and shitty safeties.
Unless Fewell can suit up, I'm not sure what he can do. Bringing in a young Bill Belichick wouldn't change things.
I think it is more that his scheme and gameplans suck. Regardless of his personnel, his defenses have been bottom third or worse of the league every year. He is a terrible coach.
What now ARC?? How do you defend Fewell now????
The Redskins brought an all out blitz and had great blitz design. Our blitz design is running out LB into an OL and hope our DE gets there.
HE FUCKING BLOWS.
but to not have ayers or moore in.... play kiwi every snap... just very strange. Frankly makes no sense at all.
I would have rather sent extra men and made Romo get the ball out fast. If they beat 1 on 1's and score fast, so be it.. it leaves us more time anyway.

Guess Fewell nver heard of either one.

There's his main defender!!!!
#Fewell4life
He should instead rush 0 and drop all eleven in coverage, jackass
Try it again, buddy.
I hope he enjoys coaching DBs next year.
Agreed
Try it again, buddy.
No one supported him more than you. Dont flip on him now. Tonight is no different than what he has done for 90% of his tenure here.
lol. Sure it did.

Heh.. alright. If you're going to be an asshole, go for it.
Everyone pile on. I know nothing about football.
We need a heat seeking Patrick Willis type of linebacker so bad on this defense that it's sick.
Shit, he's just smiling. I think he's broken.

Is this true ? Ayers and Moore were not on last drive ? I find that hard to believe... is this true gents ?

But worse than the four man rush is having kiwi and Kuhn out there as part of it. Just no shot

Awful defense all around.
It would be a good question to ask Coughlin, but the Giants beat reporters are the worst .
There are 4 1st rd DL plus a 2nd and 3rd. It is a complete waste of talent. What do the defensive coaches practice
Dallas got Romo demolished because they could not block a blitz. Our DC once again plays passive and the results were inevitable
They attack nothing and are on their heels all the time
