29/40 (72.5%), 340 yds, 3 TDs, and 1 Int, and blames him for the loss. I swear some here never watch football and only play Madden 15. If he isn't perfect he sucks, regardless of the fact that he has people hanging all over him.
As I said to dep, you aren't helping with this type of thing.
People who blame Eli [entirely] for this game are morons; you know that, I know that. Be better than them and don't bait them or act like a thin-skinned jackass over it and blow it up repeatedly.

I cant wait for Eli to retire(i dont want it too soon) because im so fucking tired of the overanalysis of 1 fucking player. Ppl just sit here waiting to shit on him or over praise him. The entire team sucks minus a few players.
the issue is he's paid like a great QB. That is a problem in the salary cap era. It's like you can't pay for great Olineman...
The Giants have spent a significant chunk of cap room on the OL in recent years (including now having to carry dead money on some players they've had to move on from). More than most teams.
It's an easy talking point, but in reality, the problem with this team and OL aren't Eli Manning's cap hit or his $16.2M AAV. It's talent selection, evaluation, and development, mixed with a small bit bad injury luck. None of that is going to suddenly change because any player takes a pay cut or more cap-friendly deal.

It's the manner of the pick and the 7 points it took off the board. It's an unbelievably terrible throw to a guy who couldn't be more open. And frankly, Eli has a track record of throwing too hard and too high causing ints.
Ultimately when you're paid like he is, and when you've had the track record he's had over the last two years, and when you're coming off a 5 int game the previous week then yes
Romo puts up great stats but still gets the choker tag. Eli put up good stats today but still monumentally fucked up in key situations, it's not a mutually exclusive thing. And frankly it's becoming a habit for Eli.
The defense is shit, terribly coached and wasn't particularly good to start with and is down to guys off the street in the secondary. And giving their continuing excellence in setting new lows each week, everyone knows it's a terrible defense. That might put an unfair pressure on the offense, but that's just the way it is.
When you QB gives your defense a 4 point lead with 3 minutes to go by driving 93 yards at home, the D is supposed to make a stand. Once again the defense gave it up

Actually it could suddenly change if they had the money to invest in quality. When is the last time we made a significant investment in a top tier FA Olineman? The last one I remember is McKenzie...
Schwartz was the top rated G this offseason. Who do expect to get. A top LT cost 20m more than Beatty
How does the staff watch the tape and see Walton's play and determine he is starting C. The Cowboys drafted a C and played him. GB let their vet C go and are playing a 7th rd pick. NE is playing their rookie 4th rd C.
The Giants draft their Future C and play him at G and then bench him

Baas.
They tried to invest significant money in Shawn Andrews, but they smartly structured his contract to be able to get out from under him when his back blew again.
Diehl and Snee weren't FAs, but both played under sizable contracts here too in recent years (in Snee's case, they're still paying for it). Beatty is playing for slightly above average LT money.
dep's going to get arrested for strawmen mass murder
The hyperbole on this site is crazy. Someone will make a not terribly outrageous statement like "That was a bad throw by Eli", and there will immediately be a barrage of "Eli is not the reason we lost the game!", "why are people so obsessed with one play?", Eli haters will be glad when he's gone!" or some such crap. Good grief!
No, Eli is not the reason we lost the game, and yes, Eli will make bad throws just like every other QB. I don't know why that cannot be discussed objectively without the hysteria.
but also some bad ones (the INT, the near INT in the first quarter on the cross body throw and missing a wide open OB); he was also under fire all night.
it was the D's fault primarily that we lost the game (coaching and players). but if you think Eli played a full brilliant game, then you are a homer of the worst kind.

Did you even read the initial post? That is why posters get defensive about Eli. No one is saying he doesn't have his warts, but when idiots want to pin a loss like last night on him, yeah, real fans are going to get a little crazy.

The OP was being sarcastic because of the game thread where people were still talking about Eli's 3rd Quarter INT as Dallas was going in for the GW drive.
what you call a brilliant game? I am not trying to be a dick, but I'd like to here your opinion.
Would you considered Peyton's game brilliant yesterday?
a brilliant game would have been - not throwing the pick, not nearly throwing another pick on an ill advised cross body throw, showing some more poise on some of his checkdowns and noticing a wide open OB. He merely played very well for most of the game, but those errors and omissions were not helpful and he's paid at a level not to make those mistakes. I didn't watch any other game yesterday.

1. The INT and the throw on the 1st drive, I definitely agree with you on.
2. His checkdowns were fine, and our screen game was its best all year.
3. I just dont know how a single poster can fault him for not SEEING Beckham. I mean if he threw the ball and missed him, then I can see the fault in the logic. But by the time he saw him open, he couldnt step into th throw, so he checked it down.
My point is that QBs are going to miss throws every single game, which includes great QBs like Brady, Rodgers, etc..... The INT was bad, but Eli gave us a chance to win the game, and thats sometimes all you can ask for.

ZERO playmakers on Defense other than HANK.
OL sucks.
ELI threw a SHIT ball.
Help me OBJ you are my only hope.
Does it matter. The idiots of BBI will continue to say something stupid so why not encourage them more?

Agree
Good to get them all on one thread.
Granted, I might quit watching football if they happens.
