Coughlin'so biggest fault

jakechek26 : 11/24/2014 12:04 am
Is his inability to pick coordinators. Know this may be a little obvious by now but besides for Spagnuolo (a front office hire) and potentially Macadoo (also front office) choice of coordinators has been among the worst of all head the coaches in a league. This does not mean he should be exempt from the blame. One of the biggest responsibilities of a head coach is how he picks his coordinators (I.e Parcells with Belichick). Over the course of his tenure with the Giants coughlin has done a very mediocre job of picking coordinators and after another perry fewell debacle if coughlin were not to return as head coach it is clear that this should be the prevailing reason why (talking about logical football reasons not the obvious one which is results). The front office must also be faulted for allowing fewell to stick around so long. This guy has always sucked if you remember even when we won the super bowl it was his defense that made our hearts stop for a second longer than they needed to because of his awful playcall in inexcusably giving up that 4th and 17 to New England in the final minute. We won that super bowl in spite of perry fewell and not because of him because that defense had far more talent than this one. Going forward the organization must put way more of an emphasis on head coaches who are not just great in their own right but who also hire exceptional coordinators. That is one of the hallmarks of the Giants (Landry, Lombardi, Belichick, Fox, Peyotn, Spagnuolo) and is something we must get back to in order to be successful
DC is the worst

Washington blitzes Dallas all game and Fewell doesn't even try it.

Enough
The front office had....
MOOPS : 11/24/2014 12:18 am : link
absolutely nothing to do with the Spagnuolo and McAdoo hires.
Where was the pass rush?
Arkbach : 11/24/2014 12:18 am : link
Dallas has a good OL, but my god there was no pressure.

This
another thing:

David Wilson fumbles = benched half the season.

Andrew Williams fumbles = gets the ball the very next play.
Kiwi sucks cock every game but continues to get playing time.
Herzlich, too.

remind me again which school those 3 individuals came from?
Wilson had a history of fumbling
Scuzzlebutt : 11/24/2014 1:36 am : link
going back to college. Williams does not.
what do Kiwi and Herzlich have in common?

.
Fewell blitzed
RetroJint : 11/24/2014 6:57 am : link
profusely in the first Cowboy game. Bad players do not suddenly become good blitzers. Either way his unit is not good enough. They needed to win the game last night with their offense. The interception changed the entire game.
His biggest faults
RobCarpenter : 11/24/2014 6:59 am : link
are his loyalty to older players in decline (Kiwi) and his refusal to play a healthy younger player over one who is injured and is ineffective.

Forget college, how many times did he fumble in the pros? Like 3 over 2 seasons... 1 in 2012 (dallas) and 2 in 2013 (Dallas). 3 fumbles in 115 carries or approx.1 in every 39 carries.

Andre has only fumbled once officially in 126 carries but he's put the ball on the turf at least 2 other times that were questionable. To me, same turnover rate per carry.

His biggest fault is extreme loyalty to the point where it hurts the team.
Lewis, Sheridan, Fewell

All, as I recall, non aggressive D coordinators.

He tried it, but they did not get home and was too passive on last drive.

We also do not have anyone that can blitz and get there with any regularity.

Yeah, they said that about Snee and Diehl as well.

Maybe it's not as much loyalty as much as it is having pure sh-t to replace them with.

has a say in the philosophy of the defense as it impacts the overall gameplanning. he is content to let romo sit back and have all day to throw. the D is just as much on him as on fewell.
