fairly obvious after watching it that Parker was supposed to run a post or a skinny post. Dallas was in Cover two and McAdoo guessed right and called a cover 2 beater.
Both safeties were frozen on the hashes due to the complimentary routes and if Parker runs the post or skinny post we've got a score.
It looked like a well designed play that was called at the perfect time.
Instead he flattened out and we get a tipped pass for an interception. Blame whoever makes you feel better, but the film doesn't lie.
Only in NY does a QB with three TDs and a 72% completion rate get blamed for a loss when the defense gives up 31.
Easily the best and most common sense post I've read all day.
What explanation do you have for those who say "It doesn't matter that Parker ran the wrong route, Eli saw him wide open. All he has to do is throw it to him instead of throwing it where he should be" Some say Eli should have made a sight adjustment to where parker was vs where he should be.
Now I don't know all that goes into a specific play to make it work. I saw a lot of posters claiming this last night. I felt that Eli probably couldn't see as easily as the still pictures show and threw it where he expected Parker to be.
an amateur should be able to make that throw so no excuses for Eli there. It seems that he consistently throws behind receivers and he consistently throws high. His balls sail on him. And the other ball that should have been thrown to Odell for a Td was not thrown at all.
Eli is too slow for this offense. Nassibs roll outs took half the time of Eli's. This should have been a blow out game for the Giants but it ends in a loss. It's finally come from Eli being a game manager to hurting the team. I love Eli, but Imho, it's time to move on. Now that the season is over I think the QB position should be an open competition from here going forward before they decide to give Manning another huge pay day when a more mobile guy is sitting in the wings.
You can't be serious. You realize he completed 72.5% of his passes?
73%, 3tds, 1 int, 350 yds... but nope, game manager.
Fucking mind numbing.
^^^^^^ and he did it with one good WR, a makeshift line ^^^^^^^^
BUT we're not talking about ONE play. We're talking about Eli's accuracy through the years. He's always thrown behind or above his receivers. Talk about ELi's percentage in this game all you want but most of them went to Odell who was making crazy catches. Plax did well here because of his catch radius. Yes Eli was off on most of those throws too. With receivers that have a smaller catch radius you see tipped balls and Int's. Which is why smaller receivers don't do well with Eli.
There's alot of plays you don't see where if Eli hits the guy in stride it's a TD instead they come back for the ball and get tackled. That play turns from a td to a 1st and 10 on the 5 or 10 yard line which until last nights game turned into 3 points instead of 7.
For once and for all let's get one thing straight. WE DIDN'T WIN 2 SB'S because of ELI. He helped but he wasn't the reason. That's like saying Seattle won the SB because of Russell Wilson. No they won because of the Legion of Boom. We won two SB's off of our DEFENSE. Don't let the MVP award fool you. Whether we drafted Rivers or Ben those SB's would most likely still be there imo. I just don't think his cap number is any longer a reflection of his productivity. Does anyone feel like he's playing better football than he was two years ago. I can't really see that he has improved his game much over the years but his contract has blossomed and continues to get better with age.
You, sir, are an idiot. First of all, we don't make the playoffs, no less win the SB, in 2011 without Eli. He put that team on his back. No running game, no OL, piss poor D for most of the year; it was Eli and his receivers.
Secondly, about last night, yes, Beckham made 2 spectacular catches, but the fact is, the TD catch was a great throw. What made it so difficult was the PI kept ODB from getting a clean path to the ball. Without it, it's a walk-in TD, and fair weather fans like you would be praising Eli for a great throw.
Eli threw moments before the first TD pass to OBJ. Lets overlook the poor pass to a wide open OBJ in the endzone moments before Eli's interception. Lets talk about OBJ miracle catch and tell me it was a wonderful throw by Eli. Lets overlook the failed last minute of the game drive when Eli could not get a first down. Lets focus on Eli's accuracy and his failure to hit receivers in stride. I need an accurate throwing QB. That might be one of the most important assets a QB needs.
Who gives a shit about where he should of been, He was wide open in the middle of the field. Just throw it to him. That was a throw a HS QB could make
EXACTLY. Sometimes it is not chess, it's checkers. He was wide freaking open. Manning is a human, not a robot, no one here is going to convince me any NFL quarterback could not pitch and catch that to a guy with no one on him.

Lets overlook the Int we missed in the 1st qtr...Lets overlook a 350 yard passing night with one good receiver...lets overlook a defense that could not come up with one stop in a key moment all game long....Lets instead create shit out of nothing to satisfy a warped desire to dog the only thing keeping us in fucking games.

Its posts like these that make me defend Eli the way I do. And the people who think these are rare posts and only done by a few posters are completely false.
This may in fact may be the worst post I have ever read on BBI. I am ashamed to be considered a Giants fan with you. You should become a Redskins or Eagles fan. Total embarrassment.
RE: RE: There are missed open receivers in every single game
By every single QB...Stop parroting what Collinsworth stated while having the benefit of replay and an eye in the sky.
The bottom line is that he put up more then enough to win this game and had an excellent stat line doing it. He did his job
So are we evaluating Eli's play on raw stats now? I thought that was exactly the line of reasoning we were all against when Eli was making big plays in big moments but putting up fairly pedestrian QB stats.
Oh please, stop trying to spin the fact you are trying to harp on a mistaken claim of a "wide-open" receiver. You know it was done just to fit it inside some absurd biased slant you have against Eli. Its either that or you actually have no clue about football. I think you are smarter then the later

Amen Dorgan gets it. This ^^^^
It's more fun to blame Eli for some though.

I really...really hate so-called NY Giant fans at times

Dude, his sister is 5'2'/101 lbs and 12. That's a bit sick.
