The OL is bad but........

The DL is a joke. We have never been ranked 32 against the run in Giant history! Until we find away to stop people we are in trouble. I feel we have to fix the front 7 first and foremost.
Agreed. People used to say on BBI...

"we don't have the personnel to play a 3-4" Well now we don't have the personnel to play a 4-3 either. The defensive front seven on balance is terrible. Just terrible.

have had the NFL's worst or near worst defense in 2011, 2012, and 2014. This is nothing new.

And it would be near the worst in 2013 if we hadnt played 7 back up QBs.

Reese, Ross, Fewell. Nothing changes.
Giants were 32nd against the run in 2011, nimrod.

are talent/injury issues - will hill and beason made a difference last year along with playing the backup QBs.

but the coaching is horrible - dallas arguably has the same raw materials to work with overall (better linebackers but not necessarily better defensive linemen or secondary), but they play hard, aggressive defense. our defense bends and then breaks.

Coughlin too. As the head coach, the buck stops with him for the defense. Very interesting that you left him out and only named the other three who share something in common.
The worst part is we can't rush the passer

anymore. I know we need talent but there are teams with less talent that are playing much better...Dallas is a good example.

It is Fewell...I can't imagine he will be back. I truly believe the players have just completely tuned him out. Frankly, now that we're out of it, I really do not know why Fewell is not canned and let Giunta be DC for the last five games of the season. Then evaluate the players on D to see who we keep and who we don't.

Fewell is just a terrible DC and he has only lasted this long because the D stood up in 2011...I believe took it on themselves and helped us to win the Super Bowl. But Fewell still should have been let go then.

I've seen that quite a bit here...
We need to follow the Cowpukes example and

keep building the ol through draft talent. We have a chance to get use a 1st round pick on a talented LT, or a 2nd round pick on a top guard. I like Shwartz and think he will be solid for us.

Also time to put Richburg in at center. That's why we drafted his ass! Not to play guard.
The Giants

keep deluding themselves into thinking they have the front four from 2007 and 2011. The irony is that when TC first arrived, he talked about controlling the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. Here we sit watching a team that can do neither. Romo having 7+ seconds to throw (and it would have been more had he decided to hold the ball longer), pretty much says everything you need to know. After the last 2 years, perhaps we now know why they put Kiwanuka at LB. JPP was great when he had Osi, Tuck, Robbins and Joseph taking attention from him. So frustrating.
Crap defense in 3 out of the last 4 seasons...

I wonder what was going through Coughlin's head last night as he watched the cowboys march right down the field after the Giants took the lead near the end.

I would also challenge the myth that Coughlin is a very disciplined coach who studies stats, facts, and tendencies...because if he was such a guy, Fewell would have been sent packing years ago. Facts don't lie. Ask Buffalo. Just what stats are the Giants GM and owners looking at?

Its like everything that has happened since that last SB run just can't be real, a mirage perhaps. We're all waiting for the switch to turn on, for the nightmare to end and we all wake up blinded once again by the reflection of the last 2 SB trophies.

Unfortunately the blinding light was the reflection in the rear view mirror, and not was is, or what's ahead.
