This is the farthest thing from a 'Giants' move and it most likely won't happen, but I'm just stating this because our defense needs help badly.
If Rex Ryan does get fired after this year, I feel like it would be a huge upgrade to hire him as our defensive coordinator. Fewell needs to go and Rex has shown that he knows how to coach a defense. I know Rex hates the Giants and we all hate him, but he can definitely change our defense around drastically. It would also be a good way for him to revive his coaching career after his shitty tenure with the Jets recently.
I hate Rex just as much as everyone else but he can turn this dreadful defense into a good one. Don't hate on me for throwing this out there, I'm just saying it could potentially be a great move.
The problem isn't Fewell. It is coughlin won't want to run a 3-4
Don't say that here, you'll be run off the boards.
I have. I'm the head of the fire coughlin train. There is fierce resistance on this board though. People hold coughlin above the team here
I don't think it's an outrageous idea at all. Left alone to worry about the defensive gameplan each week and not have to even think about head coaching duties, Rex was and probably still would be one of the best defensive coordinators in the sport. He's superior to his brother and maybe even his father as well. At least in my opinion.
