Check the milk cartons - where did the Kuhn fans go?

Greg from LI : 11/24/2014 4:03 pm
This thread would be hilarious in retrospect if it weren't emblematic of this team's defensive failures. That guy just plain sucks ass.
Come here, boy, and I'll tell you the legend of Markus Kuhn - ( New Window )
I'm still here!

Swing and a miss, Chris. If you're going to make declarative, over-the-top statements, when it turns out to be nonsense, you deserve to be called out on it (I think headhunter would actually agree).

I would love to post threads here every week declaring some under-the-radar player I believe in is going to be a stud, but I don't because it'd make me look like an asshole when he's mediocre or poor. It's called accountability.
I knew he sucked way before

Greg did :) How did I miss getting on that thread?

Who says I feel better about the season? It's just funny because there were a bunch of people who were really, really attached to this guy for no apparent reason, and now you won't read any comments about Kuhn other than how much he sucks.
maybe Kuhn would be better playing in GERMANY!!!!

I don't care if he ever sees the field, but you need a guy like him on the team...in case there's a sideline brawl.

Be very good. Everyone else wanted to see what he could do. Some made the"insane" prediction he could get some snaps. Wow. Bet they all went out and are wearing their Kuhn Jersey right now.

Headhunter and Canton were the only two people who really touted him. I even come ted that how did we really know anything about him yet good or bad. Guess that makes me an officer in his fan club.

This thread night have worked better if you just made shit up instead of claiming we were all some type of huge fans and were touting him as a stud in the making.

That appears to have been a one person bandwagon
Andy in Halifax : 11/24/2014 5:18 pm : link

Thread worthy? Ummm, no.

AcidTest : 11/24/2014 5:39 pm : link
shit. Of all the things to rip Reese for, it isn't missing on a seventh round pick. Kuhn was raw, but was big and strong. He was also brought here primarily for ST. Find something else to complain about regarding the personnel on this team. There's plenty in that regard.
I guess I could blame Reese for making a lousy pick
Bill in UT : 11/24/2014 6:09 pm : link
but my real concern is with the coaching staff for thinking he belongs on the 53 and giving him a uniform on game day
Meh

Kuhn fan still here
Great White Ghost : 11/24/2014 7:20 pm : link
For a 7th round pick he's gotten more than his fair share of snaps, so he can't be that bad.I don't see him as either a problem or a solution at this point. Some games he grades out Ok, others he doesn't. I still notice the Dline is stiffer against the run when he's in. He fills space but I don't see him making too many plays. He's still under contract next year so there is still hope.

You wanna know where I went, here I am, still pulling for him.
Phooey on ya.
it's not that Reese picked him in the 7th...
SHO'NUFF : 11/24/2014 9:28 pm : link
it's that he continues to get playing time, which is more indicative of the coaching staff.

This dude Kuhn must be one helluva special teams player...obviously, our specials would be bad without him.

^^^ This. (At least he proved he's learned to read. In second grade they move past titles and the main subject and learn to gather information from comments throughout entire threads!)

Oh bullshit. This was just one thread of several more in the same vein. I never said anyone touted him as a stud - merely claiming he would be a valuable member of the rotation is laughably false. The guy isn't an NFL player, plain and simple.
Marcus Kuhn is the man

No, he's worse than bad. He's probably the worst DT getting playing time in the NFL right now. He's almost at the bottom of PFF's rankings, with about 1/3 the snaps as most other guys at the bottom. Which means on a rate basis he's like 3X as bad as the next worst DT in the league.

But if you don't believe in those stats just watch him play. He is absolutely awful. The fact that he gets snaps just shows that our coaches are equally incompetent.
I think Brock Lesnar was probably better

Told me I didn't know anything about football because I just could not understand the greatness that was Markus Kuhn.

DAS KUHN.
I believe that for most of his supporters it was just ...
BronxBob : 11/25/2014 6:31 pm : link
... getting him reps to allow him to improve. Of course that would presume he'd be part of something at least modestly resembling a functional unit and overall defense. The fact that the DL -- as well as the linebackers and so-called "best" defensive backfield in football suck equally -- make "improving" a lot harder than it should be. That is on the coaching staff and management. Spoiler alert: Kuhn being here or not being here next season will still not be any sort of reason for the team's failure or success. Fans of Kuhn will probably still like him as a personality ... and folks who think the team should be starting 22 All-Pros will just be whining and bitching about a dozen other players.
Honestly he seemed better to me
