the guy is a fine owner. the major disagreement people have with him is that he wants to be GM of his team. that's it.

Actually, the worst part about Jones was how he wanted to mess with the revenue sharing aspect of the game for personal gain. For decades the Maras promoted revenue sharing even though as a NY team they could have made a lot more with a less equal plan. Jones came in and in his megalomaniacal way tried to pump up Dallas for personal gain (and because he paid a shitload for the team). There's a reason his stadium is so over the top, stadium revenues are not shared (or at a lower rate, I forget), so Jerruh keeps more. This is part of why the Maras never liked him and the "arrogance humbled" comment years ago. The Maras -- for whatever their faults -- helped build the league and Jerry wants mostly to take. He's not alone, other owners like this method of maximizing local profits and see him as a leader in this area. But the point is, he's a dickhead. Wait, what was the topic again?

just has to do with him being a douche (such as with the issue of revenue sharing). But a LOT of the blame for this is with the various directors of the televised games who INSIST on cutting to Jones after a dallas score. It has to be the most un-original and downright stupid thing they can do. "Well, hell, everyone else cuts to Jones after a score, so we better do it!". And what the hell could possibly be interesting or the least bit surprising about a shot of ANY owner?..."We need to show the viewers whether Jones is happy after a score". Assholes!
