Do you think TC or Reese will play guys to see what we have

joe48 : 11/25/2014 8:35 am
going into next year?
We all have stated the need to evaluate what we have talent wise for next year. I would think TC would be only interested in wins. Reese also to a certain degree. Going into 2015 with the season over if I do not see some these other players on the field I feel the FO is missing out on an opportunityto evaluate the team needs going forward. The fan base wants to see this but I have my doubts it will happen. Focus will probalbly be on finishing with as many W's as possible.
What

you said, most likely
They should

We're playing for next year already. Not even kidding, I'd tell everyone on the that try-outs begin now. No one should be safe. I'd also take this as a chance to let Nassib start. Call me crazy but we know Eli is our guy for next year. Why not sit him and save the ware and tare of meaningless games?

Guys like Kiwi shouldn't see the field at all .

I would love to see that especially putting
MikeN in Ottawa : 11/25/2014 8:40 am : link
Richburg at center. He does need to get stronger but it is important to start the process of getting Eli comfortable with him at center. Let's face it...he can't be any worse than Walton.

I also hope they reshape the o-line to basically what we might see next year. Schwartz at left guard and Pugh back at right tackle. In my mind, we need a new guard as Jerry is horrible and if I'm Will Beatty no guarantee we don't draft a LT with our no. 1 pick.

Not sure who else you give a chance to in terms of young players unless you give Robinson more time and maybe Berhe at safety.
TC's focus will be on beating Jax

He won't play guys thinking 2015.
Who haven't we seen?
Pete in VA : 11/25/2014 8:42 am : link
Other than more playing time for Damontre Moore, I can't think of one player who is anything other than a scrub injury replacement on the roster that hasn't had a chance. Maybe try Richburg at center.
You haven't been paying attention, if you think youth/rookies
Diver_Down : 11/25/2014 8:45 am : link
don't play under TC. With the numerous injuries across all sectors of the team, we are seeing rookies gain invaluable experience. RB - check; WR - Check; OL - Check; LB - Check; DB - Check;

Pete's also correct
JonC : 11/25/2014 8:47 am : link
There aren't many depth players that haven't seen action, and the depth on this roster is shite anyway.

In short, I don't believe we're missing out on much with this roster, as is.

Given the performance inertia of NYG since mid-2012, I'm pretty well disgusted overall.
They see everyone

In practice.
Coughlin doesn't play rookies.

They have the 31st ranked defense
Victor in CT : 11/25/2014 8:52 am : link
maybe they're waiting until they are dead last? :-)

They might as well play what few young guys they have and see.

Conversely, do you want they're impressionable young minds poisoned by having to play Perry Fool's moronic schemes?
:-)
WR Washington will be this years Jernigan

and then disappear again next season.

So absent of recognizing that rookies are indeed playing,
Diver_Down : 11/25/2014 9:01 am : link
I presume the OP and others that have chimed in on this thread want to only see rookies and practice squad players elevated to the 53 man roster take the field regardless if there is a competent veteran ahead of them on the depth chart? Do you really think that improve the shit-show that we've been watching?

I'd like to hear of the lineup's that everyone is clamoring for.
They will play
JoefromPa : 11/25/2014 9:13 am : link
The team that they feel gives them the best chance to win the game, and that is exactly what they should do.

This idea of evaluating talent is exactly what they do every day in practice and the off season.

Fans think differently than coaches. Many of you believe the team will be better served going forward by losing out. You however do not have to face the players every day, asking them to do their best to get ready for Sunday s opponent, when you the coach are playing for next year.
No
AcidTest : 11/25/2014 9:25 am : link
but I'd like to see more of Washington, Bromley, Moore, and even Brewer. What is the point of playing guys like Snyder, Jerry, and Kiwi, none of whom will be here next year?
I would like to see what we have
JFIB : 11/25/2014 9:28 am : link
In Berhe, Wynn and Bromley with whats left of the season. Certainly these guys can be rotated in.
The coaches don't choose players just so you can see them
armstead98 : 11/25/2014 9:33 am : link
They see these players every day in practice, OTAs, training camp, preseason, etc.

They likely have a good sense of what they have so they're not going to play guys just so fans can "see what we've got."

That said, if things are hopeless it might be beneficial to get some of the young guys reps so that they've got more game experience heading into next year.

That's unlikely to happen without management getting involved.
I want to see Moore play 65 snaps
RetroJint : 11/25/2014 9:36 am : link
At DE. In one game. Lay it out there for everybody to see. The Richburg comment makes sense. Nobody else is getting time who should be. I thought Orleans Darkwa was an interesting player at Tulane. Maybe he can work in behind the first 2 RBs. But that's back burner stuff.
Moore is turning into the next Jernigan
armsteadeatslittlekids : 11/25/2014 9:36 am : link
Not able to get more snaps despite plenty of opportunity. Hopefully his potential isn't mythical like JJ but I'm losing hope.

Agree JonC. The team's mindset is to win every game and if it means putting in the new guys to do it, they will, but I wouldn't count on major lineup changes.
If TC's job is safe, FO need to let him know...
GloryDayz : 11/25/2014 9:47 am : link
At this point, the record the rest of the way is less important than seeing what they have on the roster and that it wouldn't affect his standing with the team.

Otherwise, TC & crew will stick with who they "trust", to save their jobs

HELL NO!!!!!!he trying to win the game...F- next year....stuborn old fart.
the only one who they haven't already seen play
micky : 11/25/2014 10:20 am : link
is basically Nassib. TC will not play him unless Eli goes down. They are still trying to win games as it's very critical now to get.
....
SamTheTram : 11/25/2014 10:37 am : link
Increased time for Moore, Bromley, Berhe, Washington, Richburg at C...... am I missing anyone? The depth stinks. Everyone else we've seen a healthy dose of.
Doubt it. Coughlin believes
TMS : 11/25/2014 11:18 am : link
in playing to win and has demonstrated that in past seasons in this situation. It is his call unless Mara asks him to do it, which I doubt. Hopefully TC stays around and we replace Reese and Ross before the draft, but doubt that too.
Although it sounds like a good idea
Bleedin Blue : 11/25/2014 11:32 am : link
what we have starting outside of a few guys like more of Moore, Behre and Bromley there is no one we haven't seen play, and anyone worth seeing! This team's talent level is in a sorry state, let's hope for next year that we get back the players we were counting on that are injured, and make some additions via free agency and draft.

So what did they see in Cordle and Jerry? And how did they fail to notice that Snee and Baas both can't walk right?
I'd like t see them play Pugh at LG ….
Manny in CA : 11/25/2014 1:25 pm : link
To see if he can do it. He'a plenty quick and fast enough to pull. He's too good a player to sit, but …..

They DESPERATELY need a big mean wide-bodied bruiser at RT (which he is not). They need to snag the very best they can next year.

I agree about Richburg too, he needs the pro snaps at hgis natural position (ditto Nassib)
