RV NYDN: NY Giants can only think about what Odell Beckham Jr. and Victor Cruz together would have been like this season
"“He’s a little bit different type of receiver than what we’ve had,” Manning said, “with just the explosiveness that he has (and) the catching ability. He catches the ball very, very naturally, (has) big hands. He’s a pretty rare combination of speed and explosiveness with also really good route-running, and is able to stop on a dime as well out of his breaks.” Randle and Parker can’t do that, which is why the offense seems to be firing on only one piston. But if Cruz can return on schedule this summer – and by all accounts his recovery from knee surgery is going well – they’ll finally have all pistons firing. That’s exactly the kind of monster Cruz envisioned when on Oct. 5, in a 30-20 win over Atlanta – the one full game Cruz and Beckham played together – he described the passing offense by saying “We’re just picking our poison right now.”

Thought so then and know so now, bad move. I get that TC and the Giants have a standard to hold their players to in terms of buying in to the culture and putting the team before yourself. But, come on. Guy smoked some weed (I believe that was the reason for his third failed test) and we are going to cut him because it caused him to fail a league imposed drug test?

Obviously at any point things could go bad if he fails another test or gets himself into trouble for other reasons... But I just think there should be exceptions to the rule in some cases. This was certainly one of them IMO.

This guy has the talent to be a top safety in the league and was one last year. Looking to be one this year too.
