superspynyg : 11/25/2014 10:15 am
The Jags avg on 14 points a game and have only scored more than 17 points twice this season!! We are starting to click on offense and will put up at least 26 against them. Its gonna be a fun day for win #4!!

I think a loss Jacksonville is feasible.

That's a team already accustomed to losing and are fearless about it. I can imagine the Giants not being mentally or emotionally ready to play a meaningless out of division game.
The problem is
Daniel in MI : 11/25/2014 11:24 am : link
wins at this point only hurt us in the draft. So, it's like "Yay we won and screwed ourselves for the future!" It's such a shitty place to be as a fan. We'll win ourselves into a middling pick and miss out on the impact players we really need to get better.
I thought NYG hit rock bottom a year ago
JonC : 11/25/2014 11:30 am : link
and still believe that was the case. The 2014 NYG was an 8-9 team win under the best of circumstances, and injuries and growing pains have ruined that potential.

But, it's clear to me there's still considerable cleaning that needs to happen, there's a number of players on the team that likely do not belong on an NFL roster. If an ugly, shitty finish is the catalyst for further change to ignite, so be it.

People said this last year and made a big deal about it and the result was us drafting the guy who has been the lone bright spot this year and looks like a superstar in the making.

There's really no sense in worrying about draft positioning. There will be a game changing talent on the board when we pick whether it's 5th or 10th or 12th or whatever. It's not worth worrying about.

There will be talent on the board wherever the Giants pick

But chances of actually picking a guy who develops improve along with your position on the draft board.

If they are going to be bad, they may as well bottom out. We have lived through the 3-8 so far. If they finish 4-12, they won't be looked at as any worse than they are now. The judgment on this team is already in.

The 7-3 after the 0-6 last year I believe deluded the team (and some fans) into thinking they were better than what they were. Going 3-2 in the last 5 is probably going to do the same again and I think this team needs more than just a few "tweaks" in order to get this entire team back in the position to win again.

and that developmental broadcast will be so specials as they mention

- Coughlin returns to Jacksonville
- The Giants love to attack the opposing QB
- Eli Manning is a two time Super Bowl MVP
- This Beckum Jr is just special. Might be better than Jerry Rice
- This WR kid named Parker tells me he just loves to play football
- Have to get back to playing Giants football which is running the ball.

Better to watch the game on mute if you watch it at all.

Time to clean house...I see only McAdoo as safe right now.

Plus, who gives a shit if we beat Jacksonville now!

Fewell is already gone. Zero chance he stays.

Coughlin will be gone if the football guys make the decision. Only chance he stays is if Mara lets sentiment cloud his judgment. Something that we have already seen happen.

But even if Coughlin stays, Fewell will be gone.
7-3 Deluded the Giants?
Samiam : 11/25/2014 11:48 am : link
How many free agents did Reese sign in the offseason? And, he addressed the big hole on the team in the draft at WR and OL with the 1st 2 picks. They replaced a 2 time SB winning OC with McAdoo. How exactly did the Giants delude themselves last year by going 7-3?

1 win - No Aaron Rogers Packers
2 win - Incompetent Freeman playing Qb for the Vikings
3 win - The Raiders
4 win - Redskins
5 win - Redskins

5 pathetic wins contributed to that finish. They should have been a 4 win team

We got Eli because we tanked in 2003. It's definitely worth worrying about. The higher the better
.
arcarsenal : 11/25/2014 12:15 pm : link
If I thought we were going to take a QB in the 1st round, I would agree with you. I don't think that's going to be the case this year, though. Eli is still going to be the QB and I think he probably should be.

Regardless, this team sucks. Of the 5 remaining games I expect us to win about 2 of them and finish 5-11. We'll have a top 10 pick and the chance to draft an elite talent again.

Giants 2012
Samiam : 11/25/2014 12:41 pm : link
maybe we're talking about different points. Whether the Giants finished at 7-9 or 4-12 last year, unless you talking about firing Coughlin which I don't believe would have happened either way (and I don't believe should have happened), what would Reese have done differently in the offseason? He addressed the OL, DL, LB , RB, and secondary bringing in a few high priced people. They also replaced the OC. What areas of the team would he have addressed either by free agency or the draft that he didn't address? I'm not saying he did a good job addressing those areas although I think injuries undermined this season in a big way. I'm responding to the comment that they thought that finishing 7-3 deluded their thinking. They clearly knew they needed a major overhaul. It''s clear they didn't succeed but it's also clear they recognized the need for big change.

We're gonna score 45 points? That would at least be entertaining.
The Jags front 7 is pretty good.

Giants should win, but that front concerns me given our OL woes. Have to get after Bortles, make him uncomfortable, and force some TO's. Giants 27-13.

we are not..
melojeteli4 : 11/25/2014 2:20 pm : link
As bad as it seems. Are scheduling kind of hosed us. Let's cut the shit. We just played at philly, at Dallas, colts, at seahawks, niners, Dallas. All playoff teams! If we could of had these next 4 cupcakes and a dirty Sanchez led eagles first, I really think we could have won a few of these games. We are not an aspired and motivated team at this point. Yes we have many holes, but we are not this bad. We are 2 or 3 impact players away from being a contednder. This season is over unfortunately. Land 2 free agent studs on both front lines and get us a stud linebacker with are top pick and we are back
Yeah records are completely misleading

umm...
melojeteli4 : 11/25/2014 2:46 pm : link
Right. We just completely suck. Playing 6 playoff contenders in a row doesn't mean shit. Records are not misleading at all. You are totally correct. I guess that's why college football had to go to a playoff. The 11-0 or TCU, Boise st., Ohio state, Baylor's of the world who go 11-1 or 12-0 every year are not misleading. Yeah I know its college, but just trying to defend my point. So if we reverse are last 5games with are next 5 games and say we win all 5 of them. That.leaves us at 8-3 correct? Does that mean we are a very good team? Or is are record misleading??? Hmph??? Thanks for your opinion tho

put in Nassib at halftime, play Kennard, Washington, Moore, Bromley and Berhe.

Give more carries to Williams than Jennings. Throw 8 passes to Donnell and a few to Fells.

yeah? and what happened when the Giants went against
Route 9 in LEH : 11/25/2014 4:08 pm : link
those 6 playoff contenders? I think they lost every single one of those games. 3 of those games were to division opponents. Records out the window ideal did not see e the Giants any justice. They lost. They're one game and a tiebreaker away from being the worst team in the NFC. We'll see if the Giants can even beat some AFC bottom feeder teams the next two weeks going against Tennessee and Jacksonville. If they go 3-10. Lol, then they might be worse than I thought because I believe that the Giants will win these next two.

Do NOT drag college football into this, this is the NFL and it's a whole different monster.

Why do they need to put nassib in at halftime? What the fuck purpose would that serve?
we did lose
melojeteli4 : 11/25/2014 4:33 pm : link
All 6 correct. Also we had are starting running back(Jennings) and 2 starting wide receivers out (Cruz, Beckham) for a some of those games. Plus a new offensive coordinator. That's a lot to overcome. I did not say we were great, but I did say we are not as bad as are record shows. Think what u want pal

There is a HUGE difference where you pick. Just think Simms, LT and Carl Banks.

Likewise, just think Beckham versus any other draft pick since Manning.

You're talking the difference between a starter versus an IMPACT player. The Giants need some IMPACT players.

Top 10 is great but top 5 would be FANTASTIC.
