being as high up in the draft as possible would offer the giants the chance at a real game changer or some very good leverage in trade proposals. were not making the playoffs. the season is over. who really cares if they win.
The next 4 games are against QBs Fewell can handle similar to the lackluster wins we got last year. The offense is in good enough shape too. I could see a loss against St. Louis because of their defense.
The only game we may lose is against Philly because of what they may have to play for.
We'll win the next 4 and then killed by the Eagles again. That way we can have the same record as last year so nothing will have changed but with the bonus of a bummer ending.
but I want to see the offense show progress here over these last 5. Build off the Dallas game. I do think there's always potential for silver linings during dreadful seasons. Even in 1996 the defense that year really came and the seeds were planted for a pretty good defensive run over the next few seasons. We can hope that happens here down the stretch on offense. Guys like Donnell, Williams, Richburg, Pugh, even Randall and of course BEckham--all need to get good quality burn and experience. Eli needs to continue to recover and rebound from last year's confidence shaking debacle.
2-3 wins is what I expect, don't care for the wins now but 27 PPG down the stretch would have us feeling good about next season.
Eli and the OL. That's our focus and hopes here down the stretch. Keep building.
Jax, Titans and redskins. They could beat the rams, but eli might get pressure all day. Eagles could need that game for playoff seeding.
I am not one that wants the team to lose. But i don't get pissed anymore if they do. knowing that they will have a really high pick next year makes it easier. It is a win win for me the rest of the way. This team isn't winning anything but i don't want coughlin to get fired. Reese won't get fired. If reese gets fired, i will be shocked. OBJ, hankins, prince, JPP, Williams, Donnell, cruz were all really good fineds and picks. i know he whiffed a lot but i would like to see him hire his own guy first and see what he does with high picks. Also, reese got us jennings, DRC, schwartz, beason (though he is hurt), rolle, ayers. these guys have been good for us and most if not all will be back next year. If this team drafts and hits on their picks next year and they grab a stud DE and OL, bring in Suh and franchise JPP, this team will be very very good next year.
Think about it. If the D line got pressure on romo at the end of that game, and if the O Line could run block a little better and protect eli at the end, we win. Randle, cruz and OBJ will be so good next year it is almost not fair. but they need a STUD on the O line. Maybe a new OL coach. But definitely the D line. if we had the 2011 DL with prince and DRC and Rolle back there, how great will this D be? I just want to see reese address those units more than anything else. we really are not far away.
If Giants get blown out by the likes of Jax and Redskins, then I would have to agree somewhat with the naysayers who claim that this team has a low talent level.
However, I don't really believe the naysayers. I think they are just making excuses for Coughlin. I therefore expect the Giants to win at least three of these games
Its tough as a fan to watch them stink up the joint especially with some of the potential you believe they have. However, the season is lost. You want a high draft pick. I hate for the team to show no heart, especially for Coughlin....
how can you be a real fan and hope you lose or win?....if we were 10-2 would hope that we lose our 13th game for a better playoff position? I HATE losing ...in anything but that's just me...I don't give a shit how you feel only how I feel about tanking....one reason why my fathers famous word still lives......Pricks
can rest their vets in the final game(s), why can't teams who have "clinched" a spot OUT of the playoffs legitimately use the rest of the season to see what they have in their youngsters? Play to win, but put stress on evaluating existing talent and giving them game experience.
Others have identified those who would benefit from "live fire".
Jacksonville and Washington. I don't think we win at Tennessee or St. Louis. Philly's iffy depending on Foles' health (not that he's all that great either). If we have a chance to knock them out of the playoffs in Week 17, we might pull it off.
draft position if they go 6-10/7-9? 13?14?15?
Obviously I root for wins, and think they can get 3 or 4, though Rams,Eagles are seemingly likely losses given their team speed, Tenn could be tough given their strong and quick D,TC has never beaten J'ville, and WRedskins is a divisional game.So who knows.
Whichever way the rest of the season goes, Moore, Wynn, Bromley and Behre need to see the midfield hash marks close-up, and Wes needs to start at C if physically able.
and for this season I think thats correct. We are a .500 type team. We beat the bottom and lose to the top. It could be worse, we definitely could have won the last two games and finished at 9-7.

I agree this is 7-9 win team in terms of talent, mostly because of Eli and obj.
5. Why win meaningless games. Just because you want your team to lose the rest of the way when your sitting at 3-8 doesn't mean your not a true fan. I would rather finish 3-13 and have a top 5 pick then 7-9 and be picking 11-15. Yes we got a steal in Beckham at 12, but that isn't always the case. I'd rather pick 5-6 spots higher in each round and build for the future then finish strong when its meaningless and doesn't matter. If we can play spoiler to philly tho on week 17. I'm all for going all out that game. Jus sayn
to lose out so the it can end up with a better draft position will be the first to bitch and moan about the team's performance following the game even though they got exactly what they wished for.
A bunch of bitches, who won't be happy either way but continue to whine until the beginning of next season.
Meaningless wins at this time of year mean nothing to me.
The only game we may lose is against Philly because of what they may have to play for.
We're looking at a 6-10 or 7-9 season.
Agreed. You are not a real fan if you want your team to lose, regardless of circumstances. Moving up a few draft spots ensures nothing.
Egirls should be in a fight for the division with the cowpukes so they will want to win.

giantfanboy, there was a TV reporter Monday who said the Giants are now eliminated. I haven't verified that though.
