With 5 games left, we are sitting at 3-8, tied for the 6th worst record. We are clearly out of the playoff race, but now comes the dilemma of winning vs draft pick.
Looking at last years final records and applying them to this years picks, if we finished:
0-5: We'd have the 2 or 3 pick
1-4: Pick 3-7
2-3: Pick 8
3-2: Pick 9-10
4-1: Pick 11-13
5-0: Pick 14-20
10 and 42 are ok in a bad situation. Depending on how things fall, I'd like a move up to 34 since that IMO seems to be the end of rd 1 type talent. A couple of teams drafting a guy from Mashpotato U, as always happens, would help either round.
So if it means losing games due to playing younger guy than so what. If we win some games that's ok too, but some of the back ups and younger guys need to play.
The Org needs to focus on the future...

I think for the rest of the year you are going to start to see Moore and Bromley get additional snaps. not sure about the young offensive linemen like brewer or mosely.
I don't think Kmed was advocating tanking the rest of the way, I think he was just laying out every possible scenario from here on out. I myself would NEVER root for the team to lose a game!
If he's good you have 2 QB's that can be trade bait, if not the Giants gave away 2 draft picks .
It's a win, win or find out solution.
Not only that, but if Coughlin is truly playing for his job as some people suggest, then why would he rely on Nassib's ability to write the end of the story for him?
Also, you are essentially telling the rest of the team and the fans that we give up.
They have a lot of needs: DE, possibly DT (depends on what they think of Bromley), LB, S, OG, RB, TE. Could use an upgrade at OLT. Assuming they've dealt with C.
Of course, that's assuming they improve their crappy drafting.
5 games like Sunday. Offense continues to come together, especially the important pieces for next year (Eli, OBJ, OL, Jennings, Williams) while the defense continues to get absolutely gashed to the point where Fewell is 100% gone (He's 99% now). If we lose most, fine by me. If we win, fine by me as well.
Personally, i'd like to start fresh with a new staff overhaul (Except for McAdoo). Deep down though, I think Coughlin is getting an extension regardless of how we finish so i'll be fine with wins.
In part to see if his mobility helps the OL at all, and in part to keep Eli healthy. The guy has taken a ton of beatings over the past couple of years, and I don't think subjecting him to late game blowouts is really going to help us in any way.
