Most of you know me was BBI's historian. When I'm not researching and writing articles for this site, my other ongoing project is searching for and analyzing old B/W photographs for the Gridiron Uniform Database. I'm not an official owner of the site, but I've been adopted as an accomplice for their ambitious project.
Updates to the historical portion of the databse have been slow since the start of the 2014 season, keeping the weeklies current takes time, but the research is always ongoing.
Yesterday a flood of historical updates started to be uploaded, and for me they are a treat. They span the 1920's through the 1940's - true archeological finds. A lot of hard work, verification and cross referencing goes into these before they are presented. Many include the Giants, which is why I am sharing here. I figured it is relevant, and I know there is a BBI contingent who enjoy debating alternate & throwback uniforms, the merits of white pants vs grey pants, etc...
Click on the Updates link to see what's new. With the premier football holiday tomorrow, on the Index page you'll see a link to every known Thanksgiving Day match-up going back to 1920, including games when the Giants played the Brooklyn Dodgers and Staten Island Stapletons.
The GUD - (

Wait until next year...they're supposed to be radically different and ultra-modern.
Personally, I hope the Giants make the permanent switch to the white pants at some point.
The helmet will be as-is, but the rest of the uniform will be overhauled.
I think its a shame, I like uniforms that are rooted in tradition. Today's Browns don't look all that different from the Otto Graham Browns, I don't know why they would want to change that. The new uniforms almost always make me think of arena football, Cleveland shouldn't be a part of that.
Truebluelarry, are you on twitter? What's your handle, if so? Check out https://twitter.com/wthelmets I know the guy that runs that handle, and he's also a uniform fanatic. ;-)

Giants really should do alternate jerseys. Two good ones would be team colors (and helmets) circa 1985 and 1933.
Not the shitty all reds they were a few years ago but the red with blue stripe down the middle...
That's a great site you have going.
