Eli's throw to OBJ

CT Charlie : 11/26/2014 4:58 pm
Was it a good throw? Taking into account that Carr held Beckham, was Eli's throw a little high, a little far, not far enough, near perfect… Looking for the wisdom of the crowd on this one.
Near perfect throw
pjcas18 : 11/26/2014 4:58 pm : link
good chance if OBJ isn't interfered with he catches it in stride.
Looked to be fine
jcn56 : 11/26/2014 5:01 pm : link
had Beckham not been spun around by the defender.
Odell's catch was so great

I have not thought one time about how well the ball was thrown. It's not something that interests me.
50 + yards downfield

and he caught it for a TD. Does it really have to be any better?
He got mugged on the way
David in LA : 11/26/2014 5:11 pm : link
the throw was fine, jeez.
it
PaulBlakeTSU : 11/26/2014 5:14 pm : link
was a 45-50 yard perfect soft toss to the pylon where the defensive back would not have been able to get it and where Beckham would have been able to catch it very easily had he not be held.
was recently and correctly

corrected in my opinion that it was long. Carr's (?) blatant and harsh hold, as he propelled himself past OBJ to get to the ball is what held OBJ back.

Factoring that in, it might have been a perfect throw.

And don't hold your breath waiting for Joey Nickels (Marshall on Montana) starting a thread about it. He's busy fellating ANY other QB.
So how many of these threads are we going to have?
RC02XX : 11/26/2014 5:42 pm : link
The fact that even with the circus catch, OBJ was able to land in the end zone tells you that the placement of the pass was perfect. Without the blatant DPI, the catch becomes a great outside shoulder go route pass.
lol at randys nonsense

We are officially at the point where mere positive mentions of qbs not named eli manning are seen as slights toward eli manning. Grow the fuck up. Stop being a whiny little bitch. Its all you ever do on this site. If you want to fight some eli holy war, pick real battles not imaginary ones. And when i call someone out, i like to make sure they see it. Bitch move
Great catch
Geeman : 11/26/2014 5:58 pm : link
Great placement of the throw by Eli, unlike the one he threw in Seattle where he left it too far inside and OBJ became the defender on the pass and it was intercepted.
Tyree? Lucky.

Manningham? Lucky.
OBJ? Lucky.

No credit to Eli for putting the football where people could somehow make great catches. Never seems to end.
In Simmons's column today
BlackLight : 11/26/2014 6:17 pm : link
he compared the OBJ play to the Tyree play....

...in that both were terrible passes where the receiver bailed Eli out with a miraculous catch.

I'm generally Team Simmons, but that's pretty moronic of him to say. If OBJ isn't fouled, it's about the prettiest, non-Internet-breaking TD you ever see.
People are overthinking this.
FStubbs : 11/26/2014 7:21 pm : link
If it's a touchdown, and the receiver isn't hurt in the process, it's a good throw. Period. Isn't the objective to score touchdowns on offense?
Very good trown by Eli
JPinstripes : 11/26/2014 7:25 pm : link
if no penalty OBJ has a great chance to catch the pass in stride,

Sometimes, a throw is just "good enough." Which is not the same as "good."

good thing we have OBJ entertainment, but can't win the football game. Sad, I don't think we have beaten a good team in years.
we

beat the Packers both in 2012 and 2013...2012 we clobbered them.
Not sure that 2013 win counts.

Aaron Rodgers didn't play.

does the 2011 playoff clobbering count?
the pass
blakjedi : 11/26/2014 9:25 pm : link
was a perfect spiral headed toward the pylon and out of bounds traveling at 46 mph for 52 yards in the air.

perfect spiral, perfect spot 52 yards downfield...

wtf are we even talking about?
Pass was fine
GiantJohn : 11/27/2014 5:31 am : link
He caught it. Any pas that hits a player in the hand is good enough. Up to receiver to make the play. Obviously he made an amazing catch. Don't understand why all the talk about the pass. It was fine.
not count
Simms : 11/27/2014 7:11 pm : link
Do other teams deduct beating us when have injuries? All wins count. I recall losing a game to the packers because of a bad td call we did not get. A win is a win. They counted during the strike season too. Problem is we stunk in those games too.

Yep. looked perfect to me. The result of the play, touchdown.
I thought that was
Lord Zedd : 11/27/2014 7:50 pm : link
An excellent throw. From looking at the replays, it probably would have been caught by Beckham had he not been interfered with.
Ball was going out of bounds - Beckham stopped that fucker dead
glowrider : 11/27/2014 11:10 pm : link
Don't take my word for it - the physicists have already broken down the play.

It was a perfect football pass, though. Tight spiral, right at the pylon, going wide if it misses - good throw.
