As much as we all enjoy the original trilogy, we'd be well served to stop acting like they were the Godfather. There was lots of hokey shit and plot holes in those movies that we all conveniently look past because we love the movies. Dismissing this new trilogy based on unsubstantiated internet rumors and an 88 second trailer is pretty stupid....
Is enormous right now. Abrams rebooted Star Trek, which i hated and I really enjoyed it. I trust that giant dork (Randy). Color me more excited than I should be at this age.
Some of the heat he took from Trek fans was the amount of SW elements he brought to his reboot of Trek, a reboot I personally enjoyed.
I think he might actually be the man for the job. He is like us (the ones that grew up with Star Wars). He might very well know what this movie should feel like.
And to clarify, I'm a fan of both Trek and Wars. I felt he did a really good job breathing some life back into Trek with the reboot, although I have some mixed feelings about Into Darkness.
But I get the feeling that Wars is up his alley, he might bring us something worthwhile.

Abrams is a really good action director. The first Star Trek demonstrated that in the scene where James Kirk was waking up from his medically induced slumber, and suddenly he jumps into action running to the bridge to warn of the impending disaster. It's just a guy running though hallways but, the camera angles, the things the actors do, the way the camera leads Kirk's run, gave me a lot of faith in Abrams. He's a massive Star Wars fan so he will do well by the brand. That shot of the Millennium Falcon should show the world that this is, at the very least, going to be an exciting, thrill ride of a movie.
RE: Any chance that storm trooper is the love child
He's making all the right moves.
