his partner could have left him and taken half of his current and future wealth. but he is apologetic, she is standing by him and from all accounts, this was something completely out of character.
we've had a bunch of non-saints on our team (see keith hamilton, christian peter, will hill, kerry collins) for whom we've given second chances. i would not hesitate to sign him like today.
he will be signed in the offseason where the hatchet can be buried away from the team. But now??? I don't think that happens unless a playoff team takes a major injury
didn't think twice about taking Blount back......even with the MJ problem, and then walking out on his team mates....if he can help the Pats, that's all that matters....

Colts just lost Bradshaw Ray Rice would fit in perfectly
A team that needs RB help will take him during the season...
in order to lock him in for next year as well. If you wait until the off season, there is a huge risk another team will pay up, and you won't get him.
Who would you rather take a shot on, Adrian "I'm like Ferguson" Peterson, or Ray Rice--or Will Hill? Rice has a positive reputation away from "the incident." To me, it's not close.
Goodell gave him a very nice gift by screwing this up so badly.
Remember, Kraft's wife stepped in after they drafted Christian Peter and essentially shamed her husband into dropping Peter. Bob Kraft would probably worry about dishonoring her memory by signing the poster child for woman beaters in the modern NFL.
not sure if they had o-line issues or what, but rice looked washed up all year last year. he was coming off 4 straight 250-carry seasons.
not sure i'd be clamoring to sign him. he's definitely got value, but not like if adrian peterson somehow becomes available (and i know no one has suggested that, just thought i'd mention it).
"Because Rice did not mislead the commissioner and because there were no new facts on which the commissioner could base his increased suspension, I find that the imposition of the indefinite suspension was arbitrary. I therefore vacate the second penalty imposed on Rice."
In other words - - - - Goodell lied. Surprise, surprise.
being able to run & catch. We have Jennings signed for what will amount to the end of his NFL career. I'd hold onto him, bring Williams along and draft another RB in he late rounds.
We have more pressing needs and must save $ for them.
I have a feeling Eli would enjoy having a running back who can catch
But imho the Giants would be one of the last teams to consider taking Ray Rice. Forgetting the image and other problems associated with this signing, the very thought of a media circus would make the Giants organization pass.
it's probably good for the league. Many of Goodell's decisions have been arbitrary, it is a pattern with this man. I don't care one way or another whether Rice ever plays another down of NFL football, but I don't mind seeing an independent arbitrator actually call him out on his bullshit
being Goodell's ruling cost him potential employment and his actual employment. Funny how the law works and this ruling overrides the commissoner.
I would assume, you know what that means, he can.
A court of law basically gave him a slap on the wrist. Not even that realy.
I would think this would be a slam dunk for a labor attorney in an Administrative hearing.
He wouldn't have received any kind of sentence in the legal world. I do think that the NFL (Goodell) muffed this from the beginning. Either they turned a blind eye, or they are incompetent. Either way, they tried to use this guy as a scapegoat for their failings. I think he should be allowed to play. Let him and his wife work out their issues and let him be a spokesperson about Domestic Violence, as Michael Vick is for the HSUS.
I don't think there's ever been a time when violence against women has been as big a hot button issue as it is now.
Signing Rice by anyone would be foolish right now.
So would punishing his wife by taking away their family income. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
Um, that dumb bitch chose to stay with that asshole after he knocked her cold out. Nobody is forcing her to stay with him, unless she's scared of getting KO'd again. Is she above getting a fucking job and earning her own $?

Doubtful any of the media has the balls to follow that thread though.

And I wonder how Mr. Mara and Mr. Rooney will orchestrate the cover up of Goodell's lies.

...the New York Giants.
...Rice played hurt and their o-line sucked.

Oh look...
Another...idiotic...comment......from.......M..S....
I'm sure you're just kidding though right? Otherwise you would come up with at least one reason why the Giants would do this.

but will he make the Pro BOwl ??
What exactly does it take to
lose your job in the NFL?

Not many and not often. Week or two maybe. He married the girl and they seem to be doing just fine.
Aside from a few websites, who pays attention to Michael Vick anymore and he was convicted of various animal cruelty charges.

John Mara and Mr. Rooney are supposed to be overseeing the "independent" investigation of how Goodell handled the Ray Rice situation

play football poorly
Well in that case half the giants roster should be filing for unemployment on 12/29.
