NFT: unwanted immigrants!!!`

Randy in CT : 11/28/2014 7:53 pm
Anyone else dealing with mice moving inside to stay warm?

Been a big fan of the Tomcat, one-time kill and dispose plastic trap thingys but then got soft this year after so many kills and found a Tomcat catch and release.

Released 6 over 2 days about 120 feet from the house in a wood pile and worked on closing up paths to the kitchen from the basement.

What about you corksoakers? Nothing? Waiting on immigration loopholes to be closed?
i used poison

three or four years go in my old house when they found my house attractive.

they died in the walls and ceiling tiles, smelled them for two weeks, haven't seen evidence of another mouse since.
If youve watched a mouse

suffer to death on a glue trap once, its not a pretty sight. We had a terrible problem years ago in the city, paid 500$ for a one yr guaranteed extermination from Rodentbusters and Ill be damned if it wasnt 53 wks to the day I saw one of those little fuckers scurry across the kitchen floor. A few days later we adopted a cpl cats and never saw a mouse again.

the Irish!
(it was code

for the Italians!)
Had an issue few years back
ChathamMark : 11/28/2014 8:07 pm : link
when my oak tree in the backyard threw off what seemed like a million acorns, so the mice wanted to come inside to stash the acorns. Tried traps/poison, but bought some Black and Decker Ultrasonic plugin things, and they were gone almost immediately. They say its like a jackhammer to their ears. (also saw reviews where the mice trot right by it, but it worked for me)
I've been the mouse's worst nightmare
mikeygiants : 11/28/2014 8:07 pm : link
since they nested in my air filter years ago. Release is not in my vocabulary. I haven't seen them in the wood pile or the shed all year.

The Tomcat is intended to be reused. It's your best choice unless you want to get really cruel and build an Italian water trap. Get the kids 'n watch 'em drown to death!
go

to home depot, get a five gallon bucket. Now get a coffee can. Put two holes on each side of the bucket. Run a wire through the coffee can dead center so it will be bale to spin. Now attach the can to the bucket. Smear peanut butter on the can and fill the bucket with water.Day by day you'll catch less and less.
Mice have been in CT longer than you

U2?

go the poison route.
RAIN : 11/28/2014 8:30 pm : link
or the electric trap route. The electric trap is very humane, and easy to reset.
I've got cats
Bige711 : 11/28/2014 9:43 pm : link
Any mice that check in... quickly check out.
Is your cat on strike Randy?
buford : 11/28/2014 9:46 pm : link
We rarely get mice in the house. We did have a huge hole we found going into the basement. There was a rat and a chipmunk down there at one point.
Just get the poison pellets
SLIM : 11/28/2014 10:19 pm : link
They'll be gone soon.
highly recommend the electric trap
Eli Wilson : 11/28/2014 10:53 pm : link
Works very well, nice and clean
get a cat...
Kevin999 : 11/28/2014 11:42 pm : link
mine has already taken down two mice and a flying squirrel. He started as a wild cat and was only "domesticated" this summer (seems only to be a year or two old ) so most likely lived off what he killed and has not forgotten his skills.
The only problem
jtfuoco : 11/29/2014 9:21 am : link
With a cat is the damn thing kills everything have had one for a year and I can't believe how much of the local wildlife this thing kills just for the fun of it.
Biggest mice problem we have is they like to nest in
SwirlingEddie : 11/29/2014 10:16 am : link
the lawnmover in the shed. Every Spring and throughout the Summer I have to clear out the grass and fur from the engine and when I pull the starter mice and mice bits go flying, that is if they haven't already chewed through the wiring.

Cats are great by the way, until the get worms from the mice they kill.
That's why you are supposed to give them
buford : 11/29/2014 10:28 am : link
flea and parasite preventative monthly.
Whacked one with the broom last night
HomerJones45 : 11/29/2014 10:29 am : link
they are not an endangered species.

I've tried, but it's hard to get those pills down the mouse's little throat.

Couldn't visualize what you were posting about yet put a few of your words into google and now see it. Sick trap :).
I've used these with great success
JohnG in Albany : 11/29/2014 10:54 am : link
Lethal and re-useable. Hits them perfectly almost every time.

Just put a little peanut butter in the little bait cup inside.

super easy to set.
My nutty barber set up a trap with his cooler to get rid of chipmunks

He trapped dozens in the cooler with food then took the drain cap off and filled the cooler with water using a garden hose.

Now i'm watching youtube videos of mouse traps in action lol

Sounds like an awful fucking person.
I'm not a cat person
Ten Ton Hammer : 11/29/2014 12:49 pm : link
but getting a cat seems like the easiest management solution.

Fucking cats are like Rambo on mice and birds.

Last spring I took the pitch fork to the compost bin
mikeygiants : 11/29/2014 3:25 pm : link
to stir that shit up and wound up with a couple of mouse-ka-bobs. Those little bastards took up shelter in there and the tree next to the driveway.

They'll get in your lawn mower sure, they'll also get into your vehicles. The wife had a nest in the glove box of her brand new car last year. Don't leave food in the car and call this guy if you run into problems:

i have 5 cats
