Q: What do you want to get accomplished this week?

A: Win the game. At least win one game, but I am pretty sure we are going in…we had a great week of practice like we always do. The question is now we have to execute our plays for four quarters. We haven’t been a team that has completed and finished the fourth quarter, especially when we have the lead. Now it is time to finish off and play all four quarters and play as hard as we can.

Q: Why do you think it has been like that?

A: I don’t know. I don’t really know, to tell you the truth. I don’t have the answer to that. If I did, I would the answer the question. What we are trying to do now is finish the fourth quarter and win this game.

Q: How are you feeling? We saw you with an elbow brace?

A: I am good. I am still out there.

Q: What do you feel that you need it for?

A: It is just for protection. Anything that can help you out, you normally put it on. There is nothing wrong with me. I am okay. As long as I can go out there and play football every day, I am happy.

Q: It is not something that happened in the last game?

A: No, it is something totally different. I’m good. I’m happy and I am able to play football. At this point right now, I can’t [be hurt]. I have to be out there to help my team and at least win a game and finish the season. We have a lot of guys down. We have a lot of young guys in the [defensive] line room. We will be okay.

Q: Other than getting the win, is there something you want to show over these last four games?

A: Honestly, I am just doing my job. Finish strong. Finish this season strong. Stop the run and get to the quarterback. That is what I do best. At this time, I’ve got some young guys with me. We are ready to ride or die for each other. We will get the job done. It is sad that Kiwi [Mathias Kiwanuka] and Robert [Ayers Jr.] went down, but at the end of the day, Damontré [Moore] is going to step up and Kerry [Wynn] is going to step up. I am looking forward to seeing those guys play, and playing with those guys.

Q: You will probably get more snaps on the [left side]? Does that make any difference to you?

A: No. If you go back and watch my beginning years of [my career in the NFL], my third year in the league I was playing both sides. It is not anything that is difficult for me.

Q: Does it give you more opportunities?

A: It gives you more opportunities and I feel at this point right now, there isn’t [a side] I can’t play. I can go out there and still be productive on the [left] side. Who knows, I might get more rushes on that side or not. It is up to me. I am pretty sure I will make the right decision.

Q: What do you mean it is up to you?

A: It is up to me. I normally play the right [side defensive end]. It depends if I am feeling good or not. I haven’t been on that side for a while.

Q: Does it change technique-wise for you?

A: Yeah, big time. I am looking forward to playing this game and finishing the season off strong.

Q: Does it help you or hurt you in any way when you do certain moves with your right hand instead of your left…?

A: It is the same technique, but just the left side. If your keys fall down… You are going to reach down and pick them up with your right hand, right? Exactly, no one would pick them up with their left hand unless they were left-handed. It is different, but at the end of the day I will be okay.

Q: Is it hard to prepare for both?

A: Nope. Same thing. Just have to know your plays and the play call, that is all.

Q: I know you have talked before about watching film against the guys you are going against… If you go on different sides, does that matter?

A: No, not at all.

Q: It is good that at least that your sack numbers showed up the other day. I know they are not always indicative of how you are playing or the pressure you are getting, but it has to feel good to get those sacks? Does it lift your spirits at all?

A: I am a football player. Whatever helps me, helps me. That is my job. Look at Hank [Johnathan Hankins], he’s got 4.5 sacks. He is right behind me. Take those 4.5 and give them to me. I’d be happy. I’d be a happy man right now. We are good though.

Q: As a premier pass rusher, what do you look for from [Damontré Moore] when he has to take it to the next level to become that kind of player?

A: Damontré is a great player. He has a lot of talent. He can get to the quarterback and he can play the run. He is like me.

Maybe he's like you and that's why he isn't playing JPP.

How many QB's have walked right around JPP using a wishbone formation?

Get to the QB? When?

To be fair to JPP, on the last drive last week, Spencer Paysinger may have been the one who screwed up on the last run. I suspected as much and Nick Klopsis of Newsday reported it was Paysinger on his game breakdown.

Eric, you might be correct but how many times can a defensive player have a clean shot at a QB (who has no protection) and not crush him? Would Taylor, Swilling, Tippett, etc pass up a free shot at the QB? Especially one that is voluntarily going right past your gap unattended?

If Klopsis, is accurate (as I suspect), JPP played the play like was supposed to. You can't fault him for that. He shouldn't freelance.
So JPP - what do you have to say to Jerry Reese ?

I hope JPP doesn't struggle with this massive adjustment...
