in 2007, if Tyree doesn't make that play...who knows, they still could have gone on to win the game. It was 3rd and 5...if he drops it, its a very makeable 4th and 5 after that.
That was the first day of a cruise I was taking with my parents and my brother - there was a "sports bar" on board that was divided right down the middle, Giants fans on one side, Eagles on the other.
Sehorn's pick before halftime sent Philly fans to dinner.
we have 30 (actually more) bad ass postseason moments since the mid 80s that 95% of other NFL team fan bases would kill for. You have Pitt, Dallas, Niners, Pats, Green Bay, Denver and the Ravens. And some of those teams fall short of our 4...that's it. Every other fan base is basically holding on to 1-2-3 postseason moments if that.
It sucks now but we've had it good. At least when our window opens we take it. That's all that matters.
I'll never forget 07 & 11. Just such an unbelievable ride. Nicks in his prime was just a stud/beast/monster. Regardless of what happened to him and his last year with the Giants, one of my favorite GMen. I remember he scores another TD in the Green Bay game where he bounces out of a tackle and takes it to the house.
A link to the fourth quarter of the game against the Steelers in 08 shows up there as well. One of my favorite games ever, man that defense was something until they ran out of gas. Best game Kiwi ever had. Link - ( New Window )
and damnit, I miss hearing Summerall's voice. The perfect combination of game and broadcast team, the 1990 NFCC. As a kid, I always felt like Summerall had some Giants bias in his delivery (since he was a Giant) but I'm not sure I hear it as much when I relisten these days.
I always come back to that Antonio Pierce play as one the single best efforts I've seen. He was just never going to give up on that play until help arrived.
Terps, preach on. I hope they're stuck in their misery forever.
Simms to Bavaro TD in Super Bowl XXI was clutch, but I'd put Simms to McConkey on the flea flicker above that. That play is the one that really iced that game.
Gave me goosebumps. And they did a pretty solid job on the ranking order.
Btw, the game-winning TD catch by Burress is rightfully #1. The Tyree helmet catch was a "better" play, and maybe even more memorable - but that play means nothing without Eli finishing the drive with that pass to Plax.
That TD catch was the precise moment that everyone in the world watching that game realized that the Giants just did the impossible . . . and there are very few equivalent examples of moments like that in the history of professional sports.

The speed of Taylor was incredible.
3 blockers and no Giant for miles... he snuck in there and held him up long enough to stop for nil....
so good

The Otis Anderson uppercut was a thing of absolute beauty too.
Also was surprised not to see the Bavaro to McConkey tip-ball touchdown from SB 21 on there.

The Philadelphia Eagles don't have a single moment in their history in the Super Bowl era as good as that one. Such is the chasm between us and them.
And APs tackle against 2 guys should be top 10

We will be back. I know it.

Madden and Summerall were the absolute best.
thanks for posting.

- and seeing Montana in the turf so many times in that game -- that was an awesome, awesome game, stopping the 3-peat
-makes you appreciate great linebacker play -
great stuff !
