NFT: Best 8" or larger Android tablet

Big Rick in FL : 12/13/2014 2:13 pm
Looking to get a new tablet for Christmas. Unfortunately almost everything out now is a 7" version. My phone is almost that size so it's a waste to me. I was looking at the LG G Pad 10.1, because I have an LG G2. Really want an LG as you are able to sync the phone/tablet for calls/texts. Does anybody have any experience with the 8.3 or 10.1 G Pad?

Also feel free to share any other suggestions on other tablets. The Nexus 9 looked good, but not looking to spend that much on a tablet. I'm only going to be using it for Internet, a few games & I'd like to watch Giants & Real Madrid games on it. So I'm only looking to spend around $300. Thanks for the help!!
just got my wife a Samsung

S 8.4. And it's a very nice tablet. I think I spent $329 for it. There are apps that will let you sync your texts and calls. You don't need to buy an LG tablet to do that. I use mysms. Works great, even syncs everything to your computer. You can text directly from your computer.
Oh wow I didn't know that

You could get texts directly to the tablet if it wasn't the same brand. That is pretty awesome. The 8.4 screen is good? I had one of the original Samsung tablets and the 1st & 2nd iPad. The screen size on those were perfect for me. My Nephew has the iPad mini and I absolutely hate it. Way too small for that kind of money. Thanks for the reply btw!

Gianni suggested the Nvidia Shield gaming tablet. Has anybody used one of those? If so how is it for Internet browsing & simple stuff like that?

Went to Best Buy today and there tablet selection is terrible. The only high end tablets they have are the Samsung tabs. Everything else were those cheap $50-$130 tablets.
I bought this 10" Asus...

pad back in March. It might be my favorite purchase of the year. The display is outstanding, and it's run everything I've thrown at it very well. Coupled with a 64gb micro-SD card, I'm not sure I could have found a better value.
ASUS MeMO Pad FHD 10 - ( New Window )
I also bought the Asus memo 10"

Earlier this year as a refurb from eBay and love it. For $150 it was a steal. I also have the Lenovo s6000 10", another very nice tablet I bought as a refurb for under $150. I've had the both for over 6 months and they have been great. In comparison I would say the Lenovo has the stronger processor, since I can run more apps, including stream pandora simultaneously with no lag or latency. The Asus can do it too but with some moments of lag. Whatever you do, don't waste yor money on the Chinese brands like Pipo and Hanspree.
Thanks guys!

I was researching that earlier today. Didn't have much time so I couldn't check out everything I wanted. The reviews for it were quite low. Guess I'll have to dig a bit deeper.

Unfortunately all the electronic stores by me suck. They basically only have is Samsung tabs & the iPad.
