They've had a ton of time off recently, he desperately needs to get in a groove, they have a chance to rattle off a much-needed win streak of 4-5 games, and they're on the road against one of the worst teams in the league.
Go in there guns blazing, sweep the leg, no mercy.
I'd start Talbot. Three games in four nights is rough, and Talbot needs steady playing time as well.
AV did a solid job managing the D last night, with no one getting more than 23 minutes. Jumping out to a big lead makes that easy to do. Hopefully we can do it again tonight.
Talbot's continues success is pretty important for a playoff run, IMO. I'd start him again Friday or Saturday. I'd love for him to get 20-25 starts this year.
Last night was the perfect start for a back to back. Everyone got light minutes, wasn't a physical game, etc. We shouldn't have dead legs at all.
By the way, the adult version of Mumps doesn't sound very comfortable. I wonder if teams around the league have placed orders for extra large jocks and cups.
I missed the game - heard it sucked, but always nice to get two points. Calgary's been struggling and the Hurricanes fucking suck, so we should be able to win two of the next three.
I was afraid of waking up this morning to see they'd blown the lead Â
Oilers played a very conservative game, we were patient, and came out of it with two points. Would have liked a 6-0 laugher, but whatever, we gave up 16 shots the entire game, and weathered the storm after Brassard was a late scratch. I'll take it.
No reason why this can't be a 4-0 roadtrip. Flames are realing a bit. Let's get two more points tomorrow.
You finally came up with something smart, Brett. Thank you for getting it. Yes, got back to .500 indeed. Hopefully that awful Red Wings loss woke this team up a bit. Have to like how Hank has played the last two games... hopefully he's finally starting to warm up a bit. Must have been all those therapy sessions with Dr. Brett.
Interacting with me does everyone some good - unsurprising I saved Henrik's season.
And even the .500 record is bullshit when counting for the shootout wins (we only have one of those). We're tied for seventh in the East in ROW, but Washington (one game) and Boston (two) have both played more games than us. Ahead of us, the Islanders have two more and have played two more games, Montreal has two more and has played three more.
So, basically fuck everyone else.
Well, ROW is the first tie breaker so you need to take it seriously Â
but OT hockey is still hybrid hockey ... 4 on 4... so personally i look at regulation records as the best indicator of future success.
10-10 in regulation, 4-4 in overtimes
It's been a .500 hockey club so far... hopefully our best hockey is still in front of us... we've seen glimpses of the team that played in June (Montreal, Vancouver, first Pittsburgh game), but not enough consistency yet.
its impressive to see someone fail repeatedly yet continue to gain employment. Maybe its because he makes passionate speeches about how everyone else sucks from time to time.
though we're deep as shit on the wing (including guys who shouldnt be playing center). Putting aside one year guys like Stemp, we have Nash, MSL, Zucc, Kreider, Hags, Hayes, Duclair, Miller, Fast, and Mumps Glass. That is 10, 9 of whom I like and dont see as long term 4th liners.
Add Buchnevich and a handful of AHL and below guys, and it seems clear that we should probably look at moving a W sooner rather than later to recoup picks or increase C/D prospect depth. C in particular.
We should try to move some of our younger wing depth for a C.. even if it's a prospect. We just don't have enough in the system and we have an over abundance of wingers.

Cam has been solid working into his role the last two years
redbeard, ouch, yes, had forgotten about that, buried it

Henri played a lot of games last year, getting every start in the postseason. He needs the rest

Injuries and health are injuries and health.
Steps is really your C1 right now, but AV is going with the route of minimal disruption to existing combinations.
Kill this.

We have a tough January, so we need to finish out the year strong.

That should go away a bit with McDonagh and Staal playing better.
I guess they wanna speed up that perpetual rebuild. Wonder if they finally move some pieces as well.
