This is the first of many games he will win for the Giants. With him in the lineup the Giants are a legit Offense. If Cruz comes back and that's a big IF
and they add a WR that can be counted on, they don't need to run the ball
that much. They need upgrades at LB and Safety. They are NOT far away and the DO NOT stink. They are trending upward. If they have a similar draft and spend wisely in Free Agency they could be right there
His defenses feast on crap offenses and crumble against the good ones. The fact that DM and Wynn are playing well is an absolute indictment of PFs and the D coaching's talent evaluation.
But the abscence of any semblance of a running game is still troubling. The fact that you cannot pick up two fourth and shorts against a pathetic Redskins defense is not cause for celebration.
They have one weapon on offense (even if he is really special) and a ton of holes -- existing and to come -- on defense, around one possibly special player in Hankins.
This is not a team that is gearing up for big things and just needs a few tweaks, even if they can beat the Titans and Washington back to back.
hopefully Giants ownership recognizes that the team is winning late, meaningless games agains extremely weak teams. Does not mean TC should or should not get fired, but it does mean that ownership must be consicous of how far the team was from making the playoffs, yet again.
There are some good young players -- but the OL is still very weak, and the DL is average at best. And its still about the trenches.

The give to OBJ was a shitty ass play call. Going back 6 yards to run forward for 1 yard. Plus would it kill anyone to throw the ball once and while. Run an arrow route or something. Have Eli move left or right, and throw to a TE, who is blocking for a few seconds before releasing. Do something.
Gordon at 1 since the Ohio State game (which was not his fault since he was being hit in the backfield time and again just as he got the ball) he may fall to 7 or 8 where the Giants pick. He is a gamebreaker with great hands who makes Eli better if... 2 they get the Best OL on the board (Giants seem to have luck with OL in the 2nd round and sign one FA OL (Bulaga?) and move the young center to center.
On Defense Sign Suh (Demarco Murray and LeShon Johnson meet Mr Suh twice this season!) who already wants NY and who makes a good young DL dominant and makes signing an impact safety less important (Behre might work out but we don't know yet since they never let him on the field) and a young veteran LB who can teach the ropes to the draftees (The Niners got Borland in the fourth round). Only McClain and Kennard should be on the roster at LB next season unless they keep Herzlich for specials and/or Beason takes a pay cut to play his usual half season (he is just too much of an injury risk now). I am not worried about Victor at all. He IS coming back. That kid is tough as nails. The team will not be a 12-4 type next year but possibly 9-7 or 10-6 if they hit on the draft and have a new D Coordinator and Specials coach. If they make the playoffs who knows?
I'd like to give props to DRC for hustling and catching Andre Roberts on that 61 yard catch. The Giants eventually held Wash. to a FG there.
ODB is simply amazing. He had all that production, plus the called back TD and almost half of Washington's penalties were directed at him (2 DPIs, taunting, late hit).
I really, REALLY hate JD Walton and John Jerry.
Jennings is a guy with one good year in his career, Donnell is a JAG
if he is even re-signed, Cruz has an unfortunately good chance of never being the same again (it's also worth noting that he hasn't been very good in awhile, pre injury, too), Parker is a fifth WR/STs guy, and Brown is a slightly better than average kicker when you factor in leg strength/kicks they don't go for. Williams, if you want to add him, looks like a depth RB, as he lacks vision and has horrible pass catching ability. Randle is best forgotten. There are significant issues on the interior of the OL.
defensively, they have Hankins as a potentially big time player, DRC as a good CB, Prince as a solid enough CB, and no one else signed on worth much. Kennard might be coming on and hopefully is, but we saw short hot stretches of potential with guys like Jaq Williams too recently, only for it to not stick. Rolle isn't going to be back and JPP very well may not be either.
I'll always hope like hell I'm wrong, but realistically, there is no championship or even seriously contending team coming soon for this franchise with this bunch. Lots of work needs to be done and it's not going to likely be able to happen in this one offseason.
Williams didn't develope? I don't get that thinking.Whatever Kennard amounts to or doesn't amount to, the cautionary tale of Williams has nothing to do with it
It's about recognizing that two games doesn't always or even often
I cited Williams because of the LB connection and how hot so many were on him at one point, but it can apply to any position. If it makes you feel better, think of Sinorice Moss, Ramses Barden , or Jerrel Jernigan instead.
from a talent perspective. On offense, we are one injury away (OBJ) from having the worst offense in the league. Especially if Cruz is never the same like others have mentioned.
I think our talent on defense is a bit better than our offense and we could do more with the right coach.
Well, if Dragon is saying the overall talent on this team is shit
Scouts pick players.Reese picks
FA's. That won't change. If TC
stays don't expect coaching to change
much. Basically, I dont feel to good
About team unless TC gets boot.
We fire Fewell..we get no name
replacement. We dont have bad
players just bad coaching.
Eli made TC.
Great game by Beckham but I am starting to have flashbacks to the way Rodney Hampton was overused by Dan Reeves. Hampton got worn into the ground. The Giants have to avoid the temptation to go to Beckham too much. In that regard, there was no way that Beckham should have been back to return that final punt. And I agree the 4th down handoff to Beckham wasn't a good call. Let's not get him crushed by 300 lb linemen.
Re: Antrel Rolle, I don't think he's been playing very well. He's had a chance to pick off a couple passes lately and he's failed. On top of that he's given up some big plays and made some bone head penalties. Maybe we don't re-sign him.
JPP, on the other hand, is playing very well.
Take note, Eric Kennedy, McClain makes some bad plays -- failing to cover backs, deciding to blitz way too late... watch him more closely.
Not sure why that comment was directed at me, unless you mean my comment the other day where I said McClain has played better than I expected.
That still holds true. The YouTube "highlights" I saw of him from the Ravens were pretty bad. I thought he'd end up being a FA mistake. He's demonstrated that he can start (though probably not an ideal starter). If he weren't here, Herzlich would be starting at MLB.

Rolle is an above average safety, who plays the game with passion and still makes more good plays than bad. He has a passion for winning. If we lose Rolle than we just have another hole to fill, and we have enough holes as is.
I enjoyed the game, but admit I have reservations about the future of Beckman. Looking back at Steve Smith and Cruz and Manningham and Nicks, It seems like WR has replaced RB as the position most likely to suffer from premature injuries. I would have loved seeing Manham placed on the roster of a good Giant team of 2008 and 2012.

Hmm everyone of those receivers played in and helped us win a Superbowl.. yeah.. Ill take that thanks...
A win like this can't be anything more than a true indication of the lack of leadership from our head coach and his staff. This team won but they played the type of football that 95% of the time leads to a loss. Sure it's a win but nothing today except for one player showed a team ready to compete at the NFL level.
Where to start with this special kind of stupid thought?
1. The team played hard all game - 2 examples were the hustle of JPP to knock the ball loose from RGIII to prevent a TD, and DRC hustling down the field to prevent a TD in the 3rd Qtr.
2. The offense could not run the ball all day, yet the Giants made some adjustments to put 17 points up in the 2nd half.
3. TC benched Randle for the 1st Qtr prior to the game because he did not prepare properly.
4. Did you notice the 'Skins offense in the 2nd half? Other than a bad play by Rolle, how many pts/yards did they get?
It seems like you have an issue with TC and are looking to place blame when there is none to place.
in other words the Giants are finally doing what they should have been doing to teams from the beginning of the season. Sorry Tom, too little, too late. And don't use the injury excuse. According to your favourite coach injuries are the fault of the coaching staff.
Some get excited over fine wine while other do backflips for a grape.

Before all those injuries Giants Defense , specifically secondary was one to reckon with.
The team is building its new nucleus for Eli's last run.
Quit your bitching and let them.
Consistency has showed to be the key for championship franchises.

Defense: Hankins DRC Prince Antrel Beason and possibly JPP
With a solid 2015 draft and a another passrusher and guard this team is right back in it.
Torn pecs are not re-occurring injuries.

Would think not and then we see Brian Orakpo. It's better than a knee though.
My point is i want to see a few more games before crowning them serious future contributors.
