We should worry more about how and to who we are going to spend all the under the cap Free Agent Money we got, I hear we are in real good shape to spend a lot of money this season.
I won't worry about when we pick. Lots of positives come out of playing hard and winning games. Most of them don't make sense to many people on this board, but they are the reason why teams, unless you are 0-16 bad, tank in the NFL.
There's no Luck or anyone like that at any position for us to even consider tanking for.
RE: these 2 games show that the Giants are not that bad
Not really. The Giants finished last year winning 7 out of their last 10 games. It meant nothing for this year. And they will probably finish with a worse record in 2014.
Fans that root to loose for draft position are a fucking disgrace
Period, end of story... plenty of top draft misses.. This team is trying, albeit not very good...
I have NEVER heard of any Giants fan ROOTING to lose. Nor have I ever heard of any Giants fan ROOTING for the other team. Standing and cheering when the other team scores.
But I know I am always ROOTING for as high a draft pick as possible. I mean I want the Giants to win the SB AND to have the #1 pick the next year because of some trade. You would be a fucking disgrace as a fan if you didn't want that.

team as possible? For years, NE found ways through trades and trading down, to end up with a top 10 pick in a future draft ... but according to you, you wouldn't WANT that.
You're nuts. I WANT my team to have the very best draft position possible. And anyone who doesn't is a fucking disgrace.
It was probably one of the most significant events in my life ... and had they not had that record (and the Saints NOT been so stupid), then I wouldn't have had the joy of watching every single snap of LT's professional career.
But draft position doesn't matter. Right.

The higher the draft choice beyond round 1 heavily favors those drafted earlier than later.
An the only way that happens is to suck to high heaven.. something I do not wish for
We do suck to high heaven. It's not like fans were rooting for draft position in October. We're at Dec 14th and have 5 wins. We suck to high heaven so i'd prefer a better drsft choice so they don't suck to high heaven again. Unless you really want to celebrate win 6 for your own reasons. Hope it's not gambling b/c it sure doesn't make any football sense.
lets loose out for what MIGHT be...., you suck. a lot of teams passed on what looks to be the best pick of last years draft.. it hurts to have to tell you people that.. I was hoping you might have known...

Ty Mr. Wizard. Can you name who was out of reach in round 2? How about round 3? The draft goes beyond round 1.
sure the Giants could tank and get.a better draft position

You are an idiot with the rest of them .. loosers whom wish the Giants would be
the same
If they do everyone in the organization should be summarily fired.
You play to win the game or you define yourself as a coward/loser/dumbass.
A better draft position guarantees you nothing. A win is a win is a win in the bank. Period.
Who the fuck wants the team to tank? It would be a god awful disgrace for any Giants team to lose on purpose. They get paid to win. And they need to have some pride.
And I could NEVER cheer for another team to beat the Giants.
I want a good game. I good effort. I want to be excited by the game. By Beckham. By the plays. But when the game's over, I would be more content if they improved their draft position.
... a lot of teams passed on what looks to be the best pick of last years draft..
And so, because the Saints passed on LT - and because 11 other teams passed on Beckham, your sharp mind has concluded it MUST be BETTER to pick later.
Not exactly the sharpest tool in the shed, I see.
lol - those who don't look beyond the 6 inches in front of their face yet speak on behalf of the big picture are the best. A win could be the difference between the player(s) we want rather than the player(s) we get. Sounds like an easy calculation yet a bit of a struggle ifor those doing backflips for beating Washington a few weeks removed from losing to powerhouse Jacksonville.
a win could also result in us picking a worse player
makes a good point. There is no one guy who's a monster and sure bet for NFL success. Lot of good candidates though. Reese and his boys just need to continue to do good homework on their pick.
Chef, we all love this team. We don't spend so much time on BBI,
travel to games out of town, and root our heads off, because we don't care.
But sometimes the long range view has merit. At times, one spot can be the difference between a perennial All Pro and a slug. Remember when one pick was the difference between Jonathan Ogden and Cedric Jones? Or Walter Jones versus Ike Hilliard?
I can't root for us to lose, but when we are showing incompetence I'm not thrilled when one lucky break (as sometimes happens) takes us from a 4-10 record to 5-9, or whatever. Shit is still shit.
If they can't land a potentially great player from there, that's on Reese and Ross.
Is there a golden rule that there are always at least ten great players on a draft?
Maybe potentially great was an overstatement and I should have gone with "potentially very good," but if a team is picking, say, 7th or 8th and comes away with a Cedric Jones like bust and not at least a very solid contributor, then yes, that's on them.
Barring Winston assaulting another co-ed, there's going to be two QBs before the Giants pick gone -- that's two players they were never going to be in on off the board. There will be a nice talent left there, somewhere, when they're called and given how they need talent everywhere, there's no excuse for them to not find it.
Could fall to #9 depending on CHI-NO outcome and our SOS tiebreak vs. CHI
They aren't drafting a QB and the have need lfor a talent infusion everywhere they can get it.
Really? Redskins and Titans are the barometer. Oh and in case you forgot, we lost to the Jaguars.
There's no Luck or anyone like that at any position for us to even consider tanking for.
So can you please worry this year, too?
Tanking and sucking gets us nothing else other than a slightly better draft pick.

Improve your odds. Sure. Better your outcome. Nope. Not necessarily.

Odds on drafting a successful player earlier after round one are much greater earlier than later. Stats prove it
