He's regaining his form and contributing again. Be glad to have him back next year as a backup safety or maybe even a starter with Taylor. We could do worse.
Kennard is a player and McClain is terrible. Finding a MLB that can play is imperative to this defense.
With so many other holes on the defense, they might have to stick with McClain/Beason next year and really hope for a miracle that Beason stays healthy for most of the year. I would love to see us get a OLB in the draft in the first round to help shore up the LB corps though.
Giving younger guys a chance. Like to see Berle replace Demps and Bromley get a few more plays. How bad a doghouse is Paysinger in with Herzlich playing in front of him?
How does Herzlich have a negative pass coverage rating? I don't think he was targeted against once. Also, the only penalty I saw him involved with was when one was called against the Redskins for blocking him in the back
kmed, they don't necessarily need a MLB. But they need a 2nd quality LB to pair with Kennard. McClain gets exposed far too often. And it's made worse by having Herzlich (or Williams) at the other OLB spot.

He had an illegal hands to the face early in the game (pretty blatant call too).
Jenkins, Patterson and Kuhn are likely being phased out...
...as they should be. Bromley is being brought along very carefully. Lots of snaps for the young DEs, which is good, though it's mostly a result of injuries.
The most interesting aspect of PFF's NYG grades this year...
...might be the resurgence of Will Beatty. And it's not as though he's enjoyed much help on either shoulder.
I have no clue whether the grades are valid, but they do suggest that OLT is not an off-season priority. If true, that's a huge boost for the team's hopes of returning to contention in 2015. A new OLT would have soaked up serious resources, and Beatty's dead-money hit would have been onerous.

Jenkins got quite a few snaps for someone just back from injury. He's also signed for next year and is likely the starter next to Hankins to open camp.
Glad Bromley is finally taking snaps from Kuhn, though I think Patterson needs to see fewer snaps too. Bromley's followed a similar progression this year to Hankins last season. Hopefully we see similar improvement next season.
... while the D-line and defensive performance overall still sucks 99 percent of the time . . . within that landscape Kuhn outperforms Jenkins and -- as training camp suggested would be the case -- Wynn looks better than the new legend: Bromley.
Based on their review, it looks like Donnell missed a few blocks and Williams missed a few holes...
