As I mentioned the other day, I had never considered starting Eli over Rodgers all season until this weekend. Based on numbers (including Rodgers # vs Sea and detroit), I believed the defensive matchup would really be in Eli's favor, ie, Washington being the best vs. Buffalo being the worst matchups for QBs. The final point diff was more dramatic than I imagined. Unfortunately, I allowed myself to be talked out of starting Eli and the Ginuts will most likely lose the semifinal (unless the Black Unicorn can somehow outscore Forte tonight - not likely). Not blaming anyone other than myself. The Ginuts had a pretty good run. Oh well.
For the record, I'm one of the people who said to start Rodgers. I'd give the same advice if you asked, because that's MY belief. Start the better player.
YMMV.
a. I'm insane
b. I'm an idiot
c. I should get off meds
d. I should get on meds
e. All of the above
I also said if you felt strongly enough about Eli, go with Eli.
At the end of the day, when it comes to fantasy football, you should never leave yourself in a position where you make a decision you don't feel confident in because of other people's opinions.
I always look for input on a situation just because I think I can be biased but 99% of the time, I will go with the guy I feel deep down is the best play. I don't like leaving it in the hands of other people. If my team loses, I want it to be because of my decisions.
If you told me they would have half their drops for the season yesterday, I may have given you different advice. Actually, I wouldn't have, because I only sit Rodgers if he's not playing.
Still, I couldn't really sit him on the bench...I had no backup QB. I wish I didn't dump Brady earlier in the year, but I probably would have started Rodgers anyway.
