FF: Eli outscored Aaron Rodgers 30.5 to 7.95

dvb : 12/15/2014 2:09 pm
As I mentioned the other day, I had never considered starting Eli over Rodgers all season until this weekend. Based on numbers (including Rodgers # vs Sea and detroit), I believed the defensive matchup would really be in Eli's favor, ie, Washington being the best vs. Buffalo being the worst matchups for QBs. The final point diff was more dramatic than I imagined. Unfortunately, I allowed myself to be talked out of starting Eli and the Ginuts will most likely lose the semifinal (unless the Black Unicorn can somehow outscore Forte tonight - not likely). Not blaming anyone other than myself. The Ginuts had a pretty good run. Oh well.

I thought about that thread last night...

In fairness to both sides, it is not an easy decision. I don't think there was a right or wrong answer. I weighed on and I gave a slight edge to Rodgers, and as many probably know, I am definitely a big supporter and believer in Eli.
Looking up

FF points and scores, I thought about that thread. Sorry it didnt work out for you. I would have went with the bills imo unless there was familiarity between the two teams. Looking at the history of what the bills were doing to teams, it was going to be a tough day.
Sorry

meant to say, go with eli and not bills
Should have gone with your gut

Right or wrong.

For the record, I'm one of the people who said to start Rodgers. I'd give the same advice if you asked, because that's MY belief. Start the better player.

YMMV.

the responses to the thread the other day

I told you to start Rodgers and I'd tell you to do the same exact thing every single time. If a similar scenario came up next year, I would say it again.

I also said if you felt strongly enough about Eli, go with Eli.

At the end of the day, when it comes to fantasy football, you should never leave yourself in a position where you make a decision you don't feel confident in because of other people's opinions.

I always look for input on a situation just because I think I can be biased but 99% of the time, I will go with the guy I feel deep down is the best play. I don't like leaving it in the hands of other people. If my team loses, I want it to be because of my decisions.
I told you on that thread
UConn4523 : 12/15/2014 2:42 pm : link
you wouldn't have the balls to do it and I was correct.

If you told me they would have half their drops for the season yesterday, I may have given you different advice. Actually, I wouldn't have, because I only sit Rodgers if he's not playing.
UConn, next time I'm not asking

I've only asked BBI for ff advice 2-3 times and won't be doing it again.
I am in 2 leagues

in one league my team is named Squib's G Men. I had Foles as my starting QB, then went to Tannehill when he went down, with Orton as a backup playing matchups. Just before this week for whatever reason, Eli was available on the wire and I grabbed him and started him. I play in a PPR with a lot of bonus points, so Eli got me 44 (Tannehill got 42). It want the difference in my win, but I am happy to have Eli as my QB in the championship game. Squib's G Men gotta roll with Eli. Havent felt good about him since he took my team to the playoffs in 2011.
I got burned on Rodgers too..
TheEvilLurker : 12/16/2014 11:45 am : link
was leading by 3 points leading into yesterday. Opponent had Stills, and beat me. Best record (by far), and bumped in first round of playoffs.

Still, I couldn't really sit him on the bench...I had no backup QB. I wish I didn't dump Brady earlier in the year, but I probably would have started Rodgers anyway.
