I get that Thursday night games can't all be good ones, but there was never any chance that that match up would even remotely be a good one.
well ... this is why so many of us play fantasy football
MetsAreBack : 12/15/2014 7:25 pm : link
sadly my season ended in both my leagues yesterday (thanks to so many people ... from Aaron Rodgers to Keenan Allen to Butt Fumble (2 QB league) to Jordy Nelson to CJ Anderson to Lesean McCoy.... the list of underachievers extends a mile.

Anyhow.... now I find myself not caring even the slightest bit to watch this game tonight, or the game thursday.

But I imagine there are Alshon Jeffrey, Brees, Graham, Ingram, Forte, etc fans out there that will be tuned in. Lots at stake.

By rule every team in the league must play on thursday at least once in a season. And if I'm not mistaken almost all thursday night games this year were division games, very rarely not (Dallas @ Chicago was one).

Dallas, Chicago, Green Bay & Seattle each had to play 2x... but CHI/DAL was on a full week rest and GB/SEA was the opening game of the season.
Never thought I'd be pacing around and all nerve racked..

...over a fucking Bears/Saints game. I feel like I'm about to watch a Giants playoff game. Faaaaack.

beats WWE Monday Night Raw.
Holy shit, that split screen during the anthem was hilarious.
arcarsenal : 12/15/2014 8:28 pm : link
Brees was signing along to it and Cutler looked like he has never given less of a fuck about anything in his entire life. So funny.
I'm hoping Brees opens with a bomb....

line is bad? The Bears are awful.
Cutler is pathetic.
mjvm52106 : 12/15/2014 8:58 pm : link
I have never seen a Qb outside of Jeff George who has such physical tools and yet is missing so much between the ears. On top of that they both made their own Olinemen dislike them..
Man, Gruden absolutely cannot stand Cutler.
Riggies : 12/15/2014 9:02 pm : link
Given how he normally will fall all over himself over any even kinda decent QB, it's almost jarring to listen to him do Bears games sometimes.
Interesting watching Ryan
OldPolack : 12/15/2014 9:07 pm : link
on the sideline checking his sheet and calling defensive signals.
I do not see PF working that hard.
This game sucks!

I just turned it off.....I'm gonna watch X-Men Days Of Future Past instead.

LOL.. some people on this board are so bizarre.
Fake punt without enough players
Giants2012 : 12/15/2014 9:26 pm : link
Forte's blocking so poor he makes David Wilson look like Larry Allen
Fuck me, I've watched a lot of bad football this year.

2 of the absolute worst defenses in football and all of a sudden, neither can be scored on.

It makes such little sense that it almost seemed inevitable.
Gruden continues to bury Cutler.
bceagle05 : 12/15/2014 9:37 pm : link
I love it.
Forte doesn't want to be there.

hahaha seriously
GMenLTS : 12/15/2014 9:39 pm : link
all the false starts are cause of Cutler's cadence.

I'm all for busting cutler's balls but this is kinda unprofessional. Of course this is grudent we're talking about..

NFL dilution of their product
yalebowl : 12/15/2014 9:54 pm : link
The play or lack thereof tonight is a reflection of the diluted NFL product. Maybe it's the lack of OTAs but most players today don't seem to know how to tackle or block. Lots of showboats but totally lacking in basic football skills. 32 teams and garbage on special teams and defense. Only 7 rounds of drafting doesn't translate into to too many great players per team. I bet many of us old guys can name the starters on the Giants of the 1950s and 60s because so many were good.

And the dilution continues with the coaching staffs. Here in Wisconsin we lost a Packer great yesterday - Fuzzy Thurston. You can name the Packer starters from that era too.

Oh long for the glory years and the Packers and Giant championship games.

And it applies to the announcers. Gruden is the only announcer I like today. Give me Ray Scott, Chris Schenkel, Marty Glickman, and Pat Summerall any day.

George Halas must be rolling in his grave over the performance of this Bears team. Abe Gibron and Bobby Douglass were better than this crap team.
LOL Cutler.
bceagle05 : 12/15/2014 9:54 pm : link
A fitting conclusion.

GMenLTS : 12/15/2014 9:55 pm : link
Whole post is kind of invalidated.

He's feeling the hate tonight and there's more fodder for him to kill in the second half.

My liking of Gruden cause you get pertinent analysis or criticism of the players and coaches. Most of the talking heads today fill up the air time with a bunch of meaningless blather that has nothing to do with the game at hand.

Point yesterday - how did you get the nickname "moose?"

Give Ray Scott. Pass to Dowler....Touchdown! I can see the game visually I don't need to know nonsense details. Did any of yesterday's announcers once tell us that Jennings was injured and out of the game?

yalebowl rewarded!

Matt Forte is a joke

I was down 47 points and Brees, Forte and Stills got it all back for me and put me just ahead by a point. Should be enough barring some bizarre turnover fest and no more gains.
Doesn't everybody try to
Giants2012 : 12/15/2014 10:30 pm : link
pick up a punt with your back to the defenders and the ball rolling at your own 1 yard line?

These players are morons

Cutler is holding this Bears offense back. Not saying that the Bears offense is a powerhouse, but it has enough talent to do something. With Cutler, it hasnt done anything in awhile.

How many more points do you need?
