Gianrs to add TE Jerome Cunningham to active roster per agent

this guy is a move TE. Robinson is starting to get reps due to his blocking.

I read a couple of little stories from various So. N.E. newspapers with coaches comments about him.
AR and Fells: 1 is likely gone next camp.

Doubt it. I think this move fills the roster spot we had to hold vacant when T Manning went on IR two weeks ago.

ahhh...I forgot about that vacant spot. I thought that opened up in the last week however. But that makes sense.

Well, needed to be kept for 3 weeks. He played one week and we have now been without that spot for 2 games. So I think it's this week. No announcement yet but I am pretty sure that is it.

Also means one open PS spot.

I think they like him and we are at 8 OLs and 2 pure tackles. If one went down, Jerry would kick out.

The Giants got a lot out of Fells the first seven weeks, but his role has diminished since the bye and he's here on a one-year, end-of-the-line street free agent contract. It will be interesting to see whether Cunningham gets his shirt on game day the next two weeks.

We also just put Brewer and Jacquain on IR...plenty of room.

"Tight end Jerome Cunningham was signed to the Giants’ active roster off the practice squad. Cunningham originally joined the team on Aug. 5 as a rookie free agent. He was waived on Aug. 26 and signed on Sept. 3 to the practice squad, where he has spent the entire season.

Cunningham, 6-3 and 214 pounds, played at Southern Connecticut State University from 2009-12. In four years, he caught 61 passes for 690 yards (11.3-yard average) and seven touchdowns. He is a native of Waterbury, Conn.

The Giants filled the opening on their practice squad by signing Nikita Whitlock, who was a defensive tackle at Wake Forest but a fullback in training camp with the Cincinnati Bengals.

Whitlock joined the Bengals as a rookie free agent on May 12. He played in all four preseason games before being waived on Aug. 30. Whitlock did two stints on the Dallas’ Cowboys’ practice squad, the last of which ended on Nov. 4.

In four seasons at Wake Forest, Whitlock played in 47 games with 45 starts. He was a first-team All-ACC selection in 2013, when he had 82 tackles, including 19 for losses and nine sacks."
