They just look good doing it. Defensively they are very good but the rest of the team sucks. Fuck them and fuck Jeff fisher and his scumbag teaching tactics while we are at it.
I can all but guarantee that he giants will be victimized by some dirty shit this Sunday. This game will probably be very very chippy. Fisher is an overrated prick of a head coach. Wake me when he wins 9 games in a season.
We're talking about a 5-9 team that specializes in ugly, that has a remarkable, almost uncanny ability to shoot itself in the foot. No consistency on the OL, garbage at RB, a new offense that, no doubt aided by the aforementioned personnel issues, has never quite taken hold. I don't even want to talk about the defend or the regularly overmatched coaching staff. Who else wanted Sunday to vomit when Kenny Albert said Preston Parkers 46 yard return, giving the Giants the ball at the 42/43 was the best starting field position the return game had given the O all year?
If you've been watching all season how can you turn the game on Sunday and expect anything but ugly? When I watch now I pretty much focus on 3 players: Beckham, Hankins, and Kennard. They're the only even ones worth watching.
Their skill position players are far from awesome.
With a QB they would still in the playoffs. They don't fantasy players so fly under the radar. Look at the OL and defensive team. Tough to find many much better.
Time to find out if this team (especially offensively) is improving or the last 3 weeks were just taking advantage (if only for one half vs Jax) of three of the worst five teams in the league.
It is a very good thing that the management go into the off-season remembering what we look like against a pair of capable teams. It also lets us see what Wynn, Bromley, Kennard and co look like against good O-lines.
Defense is terrible to be honest. Especially their secondary. Sure they have a good DLine. If Eli has time Beckham and him will destroy this team.
Terrible?
Uh..no.
Their defense is good. Particularly their front. They're not quite as good as Detroit, Arizona, Seattle or Buffalo but they're pretty good and absolutely not "terrible".. you probably haven't seen any Rams games if you believe that.
Meant to say they don't scare me because Shaun Hill is their QB and they're not particularly dangerous at all on the other side of the ball. I don't think they'll put up many points on us.

22 sacks the last 3 games. Perry is bringin' the heat, baby!
Losing Mac would suck. Losing Perry would be worse.
His strategy of waiting until the final month to dial it up is perfect for making a Super Bowl run.. we've seen it before. We just haven't been able to do it these last couple years because the offense started slow.
Some guy said "you are what your record says you are". His name might have been Bill? The Rams are 6-8. One more victory then the Giants. And it's going to be ugly? Really? Hmmm. The Giants may lose this game but to declare its going to be ugly is really perplexing.
Didnt score a TD last week and barely squeaked by a Stanton/Lindley led Arizona team. We may lose and it may be an ugly game, but I dont know how one could go into this game really thinking we are going to get blown out.

this is consistent with Eric's viewpoint all season long Â
Their skill position players are far from awesome.
WTF?

If Beckham has 100 recieving yards and a TD, we win. Â

Think Parcells would say the Rams roster is the same as Tennessee and Washington?
Let's see if the awesome Giants OL can block the Rams DL. After all, the miserable one win Jags annihilated the Giants OL so they should really have no issues with the Rams DL which pounded Peyton.
I think "You are what your record says you are" is a really dumb, lazy statement. Some 6-10 teams are better than others. Some are closer to competing than others. It's lazy analysis - which I can understand from a coach, because the explanations of why you're better than your record can be seen as excuse-making.
That if the Giants somehow win this game, all these clowns insisting that the game will get "ugly" will try to back track and proclaim that the only reason the Rams lost is because of their QB. Which, is EXACTLY the point that some of us are trying to make here. The Rams are no better than their starting QB. And their starting QB is not very good, hence their not very good record. Yet, guys like Eric and others STILL, knowing that the Rams are terrible at QB, say this will get ugly. They will no doubt be full of excuses, rather than simply admit that they were way off on the Rams level of play.
Our defense has proven that when it's playing weak offenses, it can look competent. It's when we face offenses that have a clue what they're doing that Perry Fewell's talent shines through.
My fear is their defense. They rattled Peyton by pressuring him. They rattled Rodgers by pressuring him. They haven't allowed a touchdown in eight quarters. Now they face a QB who can get rattled, and an offensive line that doesn't know how to block.
I predict 2-3 interceptions for Eli. Four or five sacks. And I can live with all of that, as long as he survives the full 60 minutes.
I don't watch film but the guy was making plays for Missouri everytime i watched them play. Poor combine numbers? Give me a break.
What kills me is that the Giants drafted Bennett Jackson one slot ahead of Gaines! And as you said, it's not like Gaines was some unknown commodity. Here's Boylhart's profile on him (written last December, before bowl games and the combine)....
Quote:
STRENGTHS
EJ plays bigger than his size and will make your best receiver disappear in the biggest of games. He is fast and quick and has the agility to shut down those quick/fast slot receivers. He also has unusual natural strength to move the bigger receivers off their routes and fight with them in the end zone on those hard to defend back shoulder throws. He is very smart and shows on film excellent leadership skills. He can play more than one position in your defensive backfield and is the type of defensive back you can build around. EJ understands situational football and is like a coach on the field. He understands how to read a receiver during a route which makes it very difficult for his opponents and coaches to set him up for the big play. I’m not sure I have seen a tougher, smarter or stronger defensive back with the complete cornerback skills that EJ possesses since Champ Bailey was drafted. EJ may be a little smaller, but he is faster and quicker and just as strong. Like I said, he can make your best receiver disappear and that’s why I call him EJ (Magic Man) Gaines.
CONCERNS
EJ has to learn when in zone coverage to play the ball and not the man. He is a secure tackler, but if he is moved to the safety position, he starts to head hunt which will eventually lead to costly penalties. I’m not sure how good his hands are for interceptions, but he has, in the past, returned punts and that tells me his hands can’t be too bad.
BOTTOM LINE
EJ’s ability to cover the bigger receivers with ease comes from the natural strength of his upper body. He has unusually wide shoulders that give him the ability to out muscle most receivers who are a lot bigger than he is. This freakish strength allows EJ to be able to body up while he looks back at the quarterback in one-on-one coverage which is what can throw off the rhythm of the receiver’s routes resulting in all kinds of problems with a quarterback’s accuracy. He has excellent quickness to go along with tremendous speed. His ability to make interceptions and return punts will be the key to EJ becoming an impact shut down defensive player or just a solid core player, but either way, I think he will be an excellent player for the team that drafts him. This caliber of leadership with this type of talent doesn’t come along often in a player who plays this position.
The Giants scouting department has some 'splaining to do on this one.
Apparently, Eric was reading all my posts before the season....
Imagine if a regular poster made this thread?

If I did it, I would be castrated with my pants still on....
The season is what it is..... I think we are numb to whatever happens, since the 7 game skid....we win? So what...we lose? so what.....I think most just want to see OBj play, and guys like Kennard, Bromley, Berhe, Moore, and others gets shot out there....the season was over before it began.....we have yet to defeat a team with a winning record, although we have a shot against the Sanchez led Eagles next week....

And the Giants definitely shouldn't play Beckham or Eli.
Or maybe it's time to hike up your skirt and grab your balls before they disappear.
The Giants are coming off two wins against shit competition and I'm excited to see them perform with the opening day OL again on a fast indoor track.
Outside of a QB, they're awesome.

If the Giants line collapses like it has against other DL, those same will call for a new QB
Coughlin is coming back, I already know that much. As is Eli. Which he should.
The only think I don't know about next year is who the DC and ST coaches will be.
Reese, Coughlin and Eli will all be here.

long offseason with draft position being discussed as early as late November with kickoff not until Sept.
