I was contacted a couple of months ago by a guy from Ft. Worth, who is buying old television scripts for a public library devoted exclusive to that. I had a ton of them and sent them off.
But he told me about getting ten bankers boxes from a real old timer, Lawrence Marks, who I worked with on M*A*S*H's sister show ROLL OUT.
Anyway only nine arrived to the guy, one didn't. He checked all the UPS central stations and finally got the one where that package landed. It had fallen apart and they didn't know where to send it. Now they did.
The guy got the box and found some real early TV and Radio scripts there. Among them was the ORIGINAL pages, of WHO'S ON FIRST. By that he means that these were Abbot and Costello's pages and their notes were all over the margins.
That's like an ICON script, IMO.
Anyway, just thought I'd throw it out there. Merry Christmas.
Hope you are well, MM.
Cool story.
Britt, I'm well. Hope you are, too.
It would make his library a destination.
I would think the money, as they would prolly be worth more $$ to an LA area library or collector than the Ft. Worth area library? Or is there some special connection between Abbott and Costello to Ft Worth?
Cool story MM.
Best wishes to you this holiday season!

It's a library devoted to scripts. You still need some rare things to draw people through the doors.
To my slim understanding, it's going to be funded independently, without civic help. But I could be wrong.
Swirling: Loved Peter Hunt. Wish he had stayed to do more of the shows. He was very helpful and, rare for many directors, didn't push a "vision" on the story. He worked to make the story work and his suggestions were designed to do that. A writers' dream.
