For me, say I'm at a concert. I'll snap like 40 photos in a 1 minute stretch and limit myself to maybe 30 seconds of video taking (if any).

Its not that hard to do both. Technology has made it quite easy.
With aging, people have too short term a memory. Videos help preserve meaningful events.
