NFT: Spiderman may potentially join the Marvel Cinematic Universe

spike : 12/19/2014 4:44 pm
"The recent hack into Sony Pictures' servers revealed the studio's plans to collaborate with Marvel for a third sequel to "The Amazing Spider-Man." Likewise, it also detailed the possibility of the superhero making an appearance in "Captain America: Civil War." These plans may seem uncertain, but according to a latest report, studio execs are already planning a meeting to discuss the sequel.

A source told Screengonzo that Sony Pictures co-chairman Amy Pascal and Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige will meet in January to discuss the future of "The Amazing Spider-Man" in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, or MCU. The said meeting will reportedly take place at Pinewood Studios, where "Avengers: Age of Ultron" and "Captain America: Civil War" are believed to have been filming. No further details were provided, but sources said some "good news" will be revealed sometime in February. Likewise, Feige is said to be pleased with where his deal with Sony Pictures is headed."

It would be great if Spidey can be part of Civil War (Cap America 3) or Infinity War. Andrew Garfield did a fine job in his first two films, that I'm alright if he sticks around as the webslinger. Exciting news

SONY character is joining Marvel Studio? - ( New Window )
I think this eventually happens...

the latest rumor was it was too late for him to be in Cap 3 although im sure that could change. It just makes too much sense since Sony has no idea what its doing with the character and Marvel can throw him into their universe and it will be a massive deal. Obviously the hold up will end up being money, but i hope it happens. Marvel knows what they are doing for the most part and Sony has been a disaster for the most part with Spiderman.

Yes it would include all the characters associated with Spidey
Spidey was once part of the Fantastic Four

so this is far from surprising to some of us :)

Although technically, it was the Future Foundation. After the death of Johnny Storm, Peter Parker replaced him.

I'll see myself out now.
Spider-Man

Is an Avenger too. That's where he needs to be helping take down Thanos.

Spiderman had some issues as far as life insurance goes he wants ironed out before he signs...
This would be huge if it ends up being true

Word on the street is we may end up seeing Spidey in the MCU as soon as Age of Ultron (in post credits scene). The rumor is that after that he would be making a cameo in Captain America 3, with full integration into Infinity War, and a solo film in 2018. As a huge Spidey fan, I really hope this all comes to fruition.

Now we just all have to hope that the Fantastic Four film due out next year flops, and we see something similar happen with that franchise in the coming years.
