than I am about a soft goal in the 3rd period 60 seconds after the Rangers score to tie the game in a MUST WIN situation ... a lack of focus and concentration at a critical moment
what kind of bullshit the refs dream up here! At the very least it should be a penalty on Ward for removing his mask during play and it SHOULD be a fucking goal!!'
have been a goal most of our kids could stop.... followed by a goal called off because cam ward who I was told before this game sucks... threw off his helmet while a puck was going in against him
now I've seen it all

It was obviously a great trade at the time, which was the crazy part. Though Evil's shooting % is not sustainable.
Notably, Preds lost MDZ for nothing. Philly just healthy scratched him too. And Andrew MacDonald is now a $5 million #6 dman. That was one of the worst signings Ive ever seen (since he wasnt unknown to them; it was a REsigning).
Is not horrible, its a good idea to actually watch a player before you call him horrible, he was great tonight, and has been for a long stretch, the problem is that he plays for a poor team, injuries have screwed up Ward, whenever he has been healthy he has been a good goalie.

Ward sucks. Bad goalies often have good, even great games -- although staggaringly Ward has one shutout in his last 70+ starts. I've seen close to two dozen of times in recent years. He has been below average for 3 or 4 seasons. Maybe YOU shouldnt judge a guy from one game and then get sanctimonious.

One of the benefits of the trade freeze is the many discussions that take place heading into the deadline. I was told this morning by a key source in New York the Rangers contacted the Edmonton Oilers regarding Taylor Hall, and were open to discussing A blockbuster deal that would send two Rangers and a conditional first and second pick to Edmonton. One of the players would be Marc Staal and the conditional picks would be linked to whether or not Edmonton could extend Staal.

Though it would further destabilize the backline it sure would be interesting. I pondered the idea after they left Edm knowing they're shopping Hall. Guess someone's gotta fill that 5.5 - 6 mil slot and depending on who else would be moved it could alleviate their off-season concerns even with the cap hike.
I'm sure this would be met with great criticism specifically by those on this board who despise shiny things.
being showcased and where does J. Moore fit into all of this? Is Zuccie gone? How about Hags, is he being dangled?
Probably not; Moore is on the outs;, Zuccs shouldn't be traded despite the pleadings of Greg and Deej; and a gut feeling, but I think Hagelin will not the end the season as a Ranger, if we re-sign/keep Staal. Just a hunch on my part. Put me in the "Trade Staal instead of re-signing him for 6 M. per" bunch.
or Hags as they play such key roles on the team despite their shortcomings. Strange how they've buried J. Moore in the sense of if they wanted to move him he's fallen off the radar.
Greg has brought it up a number of times and I agree with him, the Girardi contract was a blunder especially when you juxtapose it with McD's. That one hurts and will hurt not too far down the road.
Really bounced back well from that shitty Stanley Cup.
But yeah, would've rather have saved that money and re-signed Stralman and gotten some other guys (and traded Girardi for like Sami Vatanen). I'm not upset Girardi is a Ranger though. He's been playing well defensively for us.
Hagelin would be the other guy you trade vs Zucc. There is money for one but not both I think. The emergence of Miller, Hayes, and Fast I think makes Hags a little more expendable. Maybe you see if you can extend Zucc, if yes trade hags if no trade Zucc. Hagelin may bring back a better return, in part because I think the playoff teams will be the ones in on Hags and it makes more sense for them to pay full price for a player.
About the prospect of trading Hagelin. I know he doesn't put up big numbers on the scoresheet and he struggles to finish, but his speed is so disruptive to opponents and seems to contribute significantly to keeping the puck in the other team's end. There is seldom a game where I don't notice him in some positive manner, and he is a turnover-forcing machine.
I may be wrong but he seems to me one of those guys that we would miss more than we think when he's gone. A team that relies on its speed as a major part of its system probably shouldn't trade its fastest player unless the return is too good to pass up.
the tough decision is zuccs vs MSL. Marty is a nice clubhouse presence but he will be old.... you never know when the bottom will fall out... and something tells me a competitor like that isn't taking a hometown discount
this is just incredible how bad a goal allowed that was
Yup.
now I've seen it all

He does suck
Can you stop winning now, please?
For the love of God, don't get back home oversleep and show up with a heavy head tomorrow! Just get it done!
Can't believe how well Evil has played since he got to NY. He's been a great surprise.
great trade by Sather

He's a better hockey player than actor at this point.
McD and Giaradi are locked up for 4 and 5 years respectively. It would be good to keep those 4 together. But Rangers also have guys in the pipe.

I'd be surprised if Staal took less than 5.75 which I'd consider a hometown discount. He'll get 6+ on the open market.
