It was decided amongst my extended family that we will be serving egg nog this Christmas Eve. I was put in charge. I have never held such responsibility and it will be the alcoholic variety of egg nog.
I have been advised a lot of different spirits to spike it with: brandy, burbon and rum. Anyone have any good recommendations?
Ingredients
1 can (14oz) sweetened condensed milk.
1 cup dark rum.
1 Cup heavy cream (or Half & Half)
2 Tbsp chocolate syrup.
4 Tsp instant coffee (or Fresh Brewed)
½ tsp ground cinnamon.
½ tsp vanilla extract.
¼ tsp coconut extract.
Combine all ingredients in a blender and whirl at high speed for a few
minutes until blended and smooth.
Serve over ice immediately or store in tightly covered container in refrigerator for up to two weeks.
1 batch makes 32oz. I usually make 4 and fill 2 beer growlers for Christmas Eve.
I prefer using gamma-Hydroxybutyric acid :)
Not heavy duty, but nobody's drinking egg nog to get trashed.
