just today, when they obviously played great -- given what he's been working with talent-wise, has been a damn good accomplishment for McAdoo and definitely shows promise for him as a coach, going forward.
What both he and Langsdorf have done with/for Eli especially is impressive, given how broken he was (and yes, he was broken).
I actually think this team's ahead of the learning curve
We played three meaningless games. That doesn't mean it can't work, but I am not falling for fool's gold
When you play well in meaningless games, it means something.Draft pick be fucked, it's much easier to get back into the playoffs with a 7-9 team than it is a 3-13 team.
It meant the players haven't tuned out their coach. MacAdoo makes his bones, Beckham learned and showed a lot today, from a discipline and savvy standpoint.Randle progressed, Darkwa showed a reason to stay interested, Wyn is evolving into a decent player, ejections and then a win showed resiliency and faith in eachother. Good stuff all around. To put weight on losses and none on wins is foolish.
In the end you are what your record says you are, not what some random person thinks it should be.If we finish a game under .500, We have to look at the injuries, the schedule, and the fact we may finsh no worse this year than last, in much worse circumstances. It's pretty clear this team hasn't lost faith in it's coaching.
But McAdoo seems to be just fine, especially considering it's his first year at it. I'd like to see what he could do with a better OL and better TE play.

I heard the same thing last year, just substitute offense for defense. We went 7-3 down stretch last year. Not falling for it again. We beat Shawn Hill, Zach Megtenberger, and Bob. Again, count me as skeptical.
I'm a pragmatist, if it works good, it seems to be working and getting
Which is far from guaranteed, there are plenty of player friendly good coordinators who made lousy head coaches. Whole thing is stupid. We win meaningless games against opponents playing meaningless games and everything changes. Absolutely crazy
The entire season is a rebound for this offense from being arguably
the worst offense in the NFL (when turnovers were accounted for) last year. The step back to mediocrity on the whole, in the big picture of the season, was a significant step from where they're coming from, especially given what he was largely handed, and he's, assumedly, been a significant factor in mostly fixing a pretty badly broken QB.
Fools gold would be looking at these three/four games and pretending the defense isn't still shit, that the offense is stacked with talent, and that the team is likely going to be serious contenders next year based off just this sample size. Not recognizing that.
We've put decent points up on good defenses this year with an entirely new offense. Eli has gotten better as the season has gone on. Eli is having a career year. We're doing this with 1 legit WR.
How many shut outs this year?
How many ints where the WR went one way the ball the other because of tricky reads?
How many delay of game penalties as the clock times out?
How many 7 step drops taken with when the OL can't hold up?
How many 25+ yard throws on 3rd and 1?
How many young/new WRs are having trouble grasping their responsibilities and not being able to get integrated quickly when pressed into service because of injury?
I give McAdoo (and Langsdorf) significant credit for getting him back on track, but that is going too far, honestly.
his overall play this season isn't in the same class as it was in 2011 (and that's okay, fine, he's still played well all things considered, is a good QB again, etc). If it was, this team probably would have been alive in the playoff hunt at least into December; he was that good that year.
He was in the system for 4 years in 2011. This is his first year in this system. The fact he did this well surprised me. I had him better than last season, but still overall shitty season. I didn't expect a big leap stat wise.
Let's see how Eli does, assuming he plays that long, 4 years in the same system.
with multiple weapons and an offensive line. He's doing well with basically just Eli and Beckham
This. He hasn't even had Jennings all that much.
I'm annoyed at the lack of hurry-up in the offense, but with the exception fo 2 or 3 weeks, this offense has delivered, despite the meh to shittastic offensive line he inherited.
And I've noticed that the last couple of games he's looked a lot more comfortable calling plays. I think his play calling has improved and he just has more feel for how to integrate his play choice with what's happening on the field. He's creating!
are an ascending team. They have beaten the Seahawks and Niners. It was impressive to do that to a defense that hasn't allowed a TD in last THREE games.
Right or wrong it looks like TC will be back next year. What happens if McAdoo is given a head coaching offer can we have taken one step forward only to end up two backwards. If he leaves that would be another offensive system for Eli in two consecutive years.
What both he and Langsdorf have done with/for Eli especially is impressive, given how broken he was (and yes, he was broken).
Eli shreds the rams - meaningless game.

True, but not really sure why that is a good idea or why I would be excited by it. We have been awful for so two+ years

29 TDs, 13 INTs, and 3,981 yds, with one week to go.
Best season for him since 2011.

This system is just better.

This could become fun!
Were about 2 solid players away on offense from being really tough to deal with.
when we get into the red zone
i have no idea what we are going to do ..
all the tds in the red zone today were imaginative plays
utilizing different schemes
After the win - "Rams are piss poor team, does not mean shit that we dominated their D-Line"
It looks that way to me too Nate.
