He had 4 holds (I think the 4th one was on him - Diehl said it should have been Walton, but whatever), 4 holds which is a rough day by anyone's standards, but as Diehl mentioned, you didn't hear Robert Quinn's name mentioned all game.
Would you trade that for keeping Eli clean for the most part and contributing to 500+ yards of offense?
Does that even out to an average game?
I always struggle evaluating o-linemen, but in this case the penalties highlight a negative.
The offense had 513 yards, I'm not going to complain that much.
Somebody said two were kinda cheap calls.
Overall, he did well, IMHO. Not great, but he held his own and kept Eli safe.
We are stuck with him for at least another year.....he seems to have recovered nicely from the broken leg.....he's not lights out good, but he has been, possibly the best OLman this year for the Giants..
i'm not unhappy with Beatty. And I know PFF rates him as the 4th best NFC LT right now.
I think he's done fine.
but I can't remember an OL having 4 holding penalties in the same game with the Giants in forever. So I'm happy he kept Quinn off Eli, but so often you hear during a game that the the holding penalty that was called stalled the drive. The Giants avoided that today, so it's all good (or not).
Quinn was too quick for him. I think Beatty is passable at LT but Giants will look to upgrade some time in the next few drafts.
Enough said. Beatty was excellent.

They're always looking to upgrade for the future. What's your point?
He held 20 times? Really? What are you basing that on exactly? Or are you again bullshitting the board?
Beatty has been the best offensive lineman for the Giants this year despite coming off a broken leg and a big contract. Yet it's fans like yourself who just don't fucking get it.
You continue to throw out complete nonsense on BBI and it's beyond ridiculous. I'll venture a guess that you've never played a down of football in your life right? Be honest about it please.
Criticizing a guy coming off a big injury yet managing to rehab all the way to starting every game this season at LT is just unreal. Again - he held 20 times. What the fuck?
Ditto. Nice game Willy B!
Nope. Sorry. Two 100 yard receivers and a 100 yard rusher - the first time in over four years - says otherwise.
I figured people would focus on the holdings, but my point is are they preferable to a sack, and I'd think so, you don't want your QB getting hit, but I do believe a little bit here the end justifies the means. What I mean by that is because the Giants overcame those calls (I think on each drive) to at least score points, they're not focused on.
anyway, I'm not as critical of Beatty as a lot of this site is, I think a RT and moving Pugh would strengthen the line even further, but Pugh played well today too and I love the edge he has out there. Seems like he has a mean streak I don't remember reading about in the draft reviews.

up td's. they played great and in the second half helped the running game as well. the giant o line played the best game of their year, including #65

I think you misunderstood Plato's not so well written comment. "they played great and in the second half" seems to reference the Giants OL, not the Rams DL.
After a dropped pass by Larry Donnell, Will Beatty got beat to the inside and Eli was hit as he threw the ball (2nd-and-15 turns into 3rd-and-15). Giants run and punt. On the next series, John Jerry failed to pick up a stunt on 3rd-and-12 and Eli had to throw the ball away. Pugh also had an illegal use of hands penalty. The final dagger was Will Beatty getting beat to the outside on strip-sack-fumble that set the Colts up on the Giants 4-yard line and an insurmountable 37-10 advantage.
Shitty, one-sided, poorly narrated officiating siding with the dirtiest team in the league.
The Rams are officially on my shit list--can't wait to root against them next weekend.

Fair assessment.
to the most underrated player on the team- he was excellent yesterday - and has been solid most of the season.

I didn't say Beatty was Tony Boseli. He gets beat from time to time...but he's still been a fine LT all year long. You didn't need to point out that Beatty hasn't been perfect this year with a game review comment.
Beatty is not going anywhere so get used to him.
-2.2 and the 4 penalties and pass blocking were most of it.
But they also had JPP as the worst player on D and I thought he played well, so take PFF ratings with a grain of salt (or ignore them).
Refs were basically a joke all game, and not just the fighting...
