The play before Beckham's 80-yard TD, Eli throws incomplete to Beckham, while a Rams' DB launched himself at OBJ. Beckham's sidesteps the hit, and the DB nearly decapitates one of his teammates.
but about as great of an FU game as you'll ever see a rookie in any sport play. The Rams tried to intimidate him and possible even hurt him, he responded by utterly humiliating them.
If he made contact it would have been textbook launching
if a player illegally launches into a defenseless opponent. It is an illegal launch if a player (1) leaves
both feet prior to contact to spring forward and upward into his opponent, and (2) uses any part of his
helmet (including the top/crown and forehead/”hairline” parts) to initiate forcible contact against any
part of his opponent’s body.
the deep out sideline throw that was way too high and the safety came out of nowhere to smash OBJ, who had the sense to brace himself.
EXCEPT what the fuck was he getting hit for in the first place, the flag was thrown initially and then picked up after the jerkoff refs deliberated. that shit was a joke

I'm not sure how they picked up that flag.
I think it was because it appeared like OBJ was baiting the player into the hit

Picking up a flag for a late hit due to the WR "baiting" the player would be a first...
If you watch right after the play he gestures to the S something to the tune of... You missed with your cheap shot... Look what you did to your teammate.
Flopping is different than baiting. The flop was the correct call as one ref clearly saw that player barely touched OBJ and Beckham embellished the contact which was hard to see from the other angle.
Beckham didn't flop yesterday. He got hit unnecessarily on a play where the ball was well overthrown.
yeah i have no idea how that got picked up... only cuz OBJ had his head on a swivel yesterday he saw that dude coming to lay him out.
also OBJ is fucking awesome... if he didn't make that slight jump (like Tiki used to do late in his career) he would probably have gotten knocked on his ass instead of staying on his feet.
what a bunch of horseshit that was
I still go back to the gif posted at 10:16 by geomon. Â
F.U. indeed!
But that is what happened.

Interesting as I don't see what you did wrong. Maybe the capital letters?

Yep that was it. Need lower case letters for the formatting (i.e. [img])
Also Preview is your friend. :)
if a player puts intentional hit and a
player goes on ir they get suspended
1 year
that gif says a lot. League should bring the hammer down on the Rams. "Player safety" my butt.
why not?

It'll be interesting to see if McDonald draws a fine for that play. His intentions are clear as day, but he missed his target...
How is that not a penalty? Going up high on a defenseless WR who doesn't have the ball?

It wasn't late and it wasn't high and it wasn't leading with the helmet.
Why as it going to be illegal?

It wasn't late? The ball is bouncing on the ground when he leaves his feet.
It wasn't high? Looks like he's hitting Beckham in the shoulder pads or higher.
It wasn't leading with the helmet? Gaines says otherwise
That is textbook launching at a defenseless WR.

would love to see if he flopped and how uncatchable the ball was for the DB going in on him like that

Second, OBJ has incredible reflexes to get out of the way. I feel like shouting "Ole!"
Third, the Rams and their coaches truly suck and should be penalized in some manner.

To be fair, Gaines already was "penalized"...
