Title: Odell Beckham may add to NY Giants GM Jerry Reese’s draft duds

This offseason, for maybe the first time in Reese’s mostly successful seven-year run at the helm of the Giants, real questions were raised and real criticism was fired about his recent draft classes and free-agent moves.

His shtick is to rile up the fan base and drive views to his articles. He doesn't inform or educate anyone despite his access to the team.

The guy is a toilet stain.
You can criticize Jerry for a lot over the past 5-6 years

but not his first round picks. His one dud, Wilson, was out of his hands with the injury. Any casual fan could have noticed that, let alone a fucking beat writer.

The next time someone pops up to defend Ralphie

have to remember to bring this POS up.
Ralph writes for the Daily News.

He has to sensationalize at times, like that headline does.

He also consistently now has the best sources of anyone who currently covers the team by a decent margin and generally defends Coughlin, Eli, etc enough that you'd think BBI, of all places, would have some tolerance for him doing what his job sometimes requires.
Wilson always seemed like a Shady McCoy clone to me

Can't imagine what this offense would like if he didn't have that horrific stenosis and poor Torg-Pavlov Ratio

He's got unparalleled access to the team and still stirs the shit to drive traffic to his articles. Despite your claim that he "defends" players and coaches the fact is that he is a disingenuous chickenhawk sellout. Fuck him.

He does what his job requires of him.

He doesn't play along, at least at times, he's going to be out of one of the best local gigs in the country.

Maybe that makes him an unworthy sell-out in your eyes, but hey, he's been solidly employed for years now, while other guys have bounced around and down, so I'm sure it's no skin off his back. Personally, I'm not going to hold it against him too heavily, especially with the quality of reporters that cover the Giants these days in general. There are far, far worse sinners to complain about than Ralph now, from the baiting for hits to having terrible sources to not having a clue what they're covering/analyzing.
yeah, I dunno

Aside from the headline, there wasn't a whole lot in that article that screams irrational rush to certain judgment. It's just a bunch of hypotheticals influenced by a) disappointment over Beckham's injury and b) recent history.

Yeah, his actual piece seems fine. He says he isn't a bust yet, nor should he be labeled as such. But the title is pure clickbait.

The headline begs ridicule. The article isn't too bad. And I'm no Ralph V. fan.
Headline writers
Fort Mill Mike : 12/22/2014 6:47 am : link
Typically, it's a copy editor or some other editor who writes the headlines. Reporters and columnists might suggest headlines at some papers, but I doubt Ralph writes his own headlines.

What's wrong with this article?

1) OBJ wasn't on the field at all during the summer and September. It's quite valid to ask the question whether or not this draft pick was going to produce.

2) No writer actually writes titles. I mean you're linking this again aren't you? More views for the site so he did his job.
Ummmm...
bradshaw44 : 12/22/2014 10:09 am : link
Talk about BBI hindsight. Many here were saying exactly the same thing. NOBODY could have predicted OBJ was going to do what he's done since returning. And many were saying we got another injury prone joke. Ralph was playing to those with that opinion. Which at the time was probably the majority.
