Who says this game is meaningless. Long time division opponents going at it. This will be a game about pure pride!! Both teams will put it all on the line. Who cares about draft pick....
If Philly, still had a shot at the playoffs, then yes it would have meaning.....all it is is is a game where players can pad their stats, and puff their chests out...
It's the last game of the year, where once again this team is not going to the playoffs.....but it's not really a disappointment, because a rational Giant fan knew they were not going to make it at the start of the season anyways.....a rational Giant fan just would be hoping for some improvement over last year, and have something to build on for next year....I think we have accomplished that.....but we still have a way to go in that direction.....I think this team has reached respectability this year.....when teams look at who they play next year, and see the Giants on their schedule, an automatic "W" will not be put up by them next year.....how we draft, the free agents we sign, and if the guys returning from IR can play, will determine the fate of this team next year....
These teams will meet time and again and each time is a chance to prove yourself better than the other team. If your team gets to put a beat down on the other team, you do it.
Philly wants to say "we own you" and the Giants want to say that they are on par with the Eagles. This is not meaningless!
Meaningless to the playoffs..sure
Meaningless to the fans..your opinion.
There's only 16 of these most years, 2 against the rival eagles. As a fan I want to watch because only get so many per year. And it's the last one. And it's the eagles. It's bragging rights and it's a measuring stick for the team, because this one of the primary teams the giants have to beat next year, and it's a team they've had trouble with.
Meaningless, is a catchy word that gets slung around for any team that's out of playoffs, I don't think it's the right word. Ask Coughlin if it's meaningless..imagine if one of the beat reporters asked that, he'd tear their head off lol. Not meaningless to everyone, not meaningless in many senses of the word.
damn we're going to wind up picking at twelve again
No Eagles game is meaningless to me. Even if we were 1-15. It is a rivalry game and they whooped our asses the last game. Also, just from a team standpoint, I still want to see more progress being made.
This is the first legit offense the defense will go up against. It will show us whether they really improved at all, or if they are still a bad defensive team. Being that I want Fewell out, I wouldn't hate us winning this game in a shootout.
Offensively, we were shut out the last time we played the Eagles, so it would also be nice to see our adjustments and put up some points on a average Eagles defense that Wash tore up yesterday.

The Eagles will come to play. This will be a good game by which to measure the Giants.
