We were really playing well this year. The pieces were falling into place. Our run game looked pretty damn good. Our pass game was coming along. We are riding high and we face the Eagles. Needless to say that I feel that game turned our season around. They exposed our OL. We looked like a bunch of high schoolers out there.
This same thing happened against Dallas the first time Philly played them. Dallas might have the best OL in the league. A few weeks later Dallas plays Philly again and it is a completely different story.
So, how do you think we do in round 2? As much as I am hoping we take the path that Dallas did, I am still skeptical. Seeing what we did against the Rams front gives me some confidence but I feel Philly plays with more reckless abandon than STL does in the front four.
I don't have much confidence in the run game. Williams is a beast passed the line of scrimmage. The problem is that he doesn't have the vision nor acceleration to adjust to penetration. Philly will have DL flying upfield and I think we will see a lot of negative runs. A guy like LeVeon Bell against a D like this would be perfect. He is so patient and allows the holes to open uo but he also has the vision and acceleration to be able to be patient. Once Williams gets started in one direction it is hard for him to get off that path. If Philly guesses wrong there can be some huge gains but, like I said, I also expect to see a lot of negative yardage runs in this game.
But the game is meaningless.....how in the world the Eagles lost to Washington is beyond me.....
It would have been great for both Dallas and the Eagles to have to watch each other's scoreboard this weekend, but that Washington loss ended that....
Playing a team with 3 straight losses with Sanchez at the helm, won't mean much with a victory......it will be interesting to see if the Eagles show up for a meaningless game.....yes the Giants might have revenge on their mind, but, it just won't be the same, if the Eagles were playing for something and we had a chance to knock them off....

What does this have to do with the thread?
I think they play better.
The Rams have arguably the best D line in football and somehow Eli was given time to throw the ball. I expect the Oline to play better this time out.
FYI, they barely beat Washington the first go-round.
Just different matchups.
The more they play together the better, the more reps the new offense gets the better, and so on. I expect the entire offense to play better than it did in week 6.

It was the same OL that played them last time if I am not mistaken and the same OL that played together for consecutive weeks in the beginning of the year. However, I understand your point about more time together and it is a valid point.
by smashface I mean quick to develop running plays that dont leave time or gaps for linebackers to get up and take advantage of open spaces between them
and punish the would be tacklers and defensive side up front
not to neglect becks...but its part of the puzzle
One would think the Giants would have fixed the issues which resulted in the Eagles stating they knew what the Giants were going to run before the snap, but in general I am skeptical that they will. The game plan last game did not impress on either side if the ball.
This. The Eagles will have to keep one safety over the top the whole game and will not be able to bring 8 into the box.
This game is going to be much much different than the first game. As a previous poster said, the G men will pass to set up the run and keep Philly off balance all day.
Beckham makes all the difference in the world. You'll see that on Sunday.
If the strategy is to go with the quick passing game to set up the run and play-action, I think the offense should do well enough. If we stubbornly seek to establish the run early we could be in for a long afternoon of struggle on the OL.
Having said that I do think we will be smarter this time around and I expect a competitive game Sunday.
I truly think jobs could be lost on the OL if we are embarrassed at home.
Questions, questions.
