I have a couple concerns going in to tonight's game:
1. Trap game for us.
2. We're playing the team with the dirtiest captain in the Metro division. This spearing sleazebag is probably going to hunt after the superior team.
Eat shit, arc. 7:00 start.
#lgr
The only thing that concerns me is goofy shit happens when they've played this team over the past few years. However, Hank is as steady as he has ever been and the the fact they can throw four efficient lines out there every night is huge.
I don't see them beating themselves but like I said the Islanders have a way of getting shitty breaks in these games when they play the Rangers. The other thing is the law of averages. It may be the Rangers turn to turn that around. Then again they have been winning so much of late they are bound to lose once in awhile.
Read the fucking rules.
Henrik isn't a backup goalie, the game is at the fucking Mecca and we've disposed of much more difficult opponents than the Styx lately.
Fuck outta here with trap game. The Rangers will win.
Can we buy Capuano some suits, by the way? Maybe he purposely goes for the 'never wore a suit in my life so let me go grab one from goodwill' look to blend in with the five fans the Islanders have?

Wah Wah Wah. Stop crying. Your post is moronic. Go look at who the Isles have beaten this season. The Isles are great in OT/Shootouts and you are holding that against them. Go write a letter to Bettman asking him to change the OT format.
No, they just got lucky. Like Anaheim did early last year. And like a few teams often do in Octobers against the King.
Hank had a long playoff run, he just had to get back in the swing of things.
You ain't scoring 6 goals again tonight.
And if my Aunt had balls...
Should we take away from the Islanders any losses when Johnson or Poulin played an opposing starter? Should those who played Columbus when they were besieged by injuries have their wins revoked? You can only play who you have on your schedule when they are scheduled and against what line-up they choose to put out there
I think the Rangers PLAYERS probably will play lipservice to the notion that this is a rivalry, but really I think guys like DG and Staal (the long termers) view the Caps, Pens, Flyers, and Devils (bad blood) as bigger rivals.
My worry is that the Isles DO view the Rangers as real rivals.

Best post. Thanks arc. I agree. Go Isles.

How is putting up 6 goals "lucky." You guys are comical. Can't admit the Isles are a good team this year.

Thanks for playing deej. Way to collapse the whole isles rags thing. Go get pumped up for rags vs caps. Oh and when they drop the puck tonight let me know if your more pumped up than usual when a nasty hit it made or goal is scored.
All those top 5 draft picks and years of sacrifice finally pay off. The Rangers making the finals and consistently makingthe playoffs since the first lockout is living in the past. Although it's amazing the Rangers have had any success with that overated "Queen" in the net.
Congratulations Islander fans and kudos for being the humble fan you is.
It's not a trap game, but it's also not any more important than any other divisional game. Let's all remember what month it is. I know it's been a while since the Islanders have done anything worth mentioning, but let's not sink to their level by making a big fuss about a Tuesday night game in January.
Bad enough I've got a friend who just remembered he liked the Islanders this year - and couldn't tell you how and from which team they acquired Nick Leddy - now acting like a die hard. Sure, I could do without hearing him chirp tonight, but I'm secure in the knowledge that while this is in the top-10 most important games for the Islanders in the last 8 years, it's not even in the top 30 for the Rangers in the last 8 months.
Yeah it's been tough.
Hank's allowed 2 or fewer goals in 9 of his last 11 (and the other two were 3 goals). Good luck.
So modest - ( New Window )
Oc-fucking-tober!
Oc-fucking-tober!
LOLGreg. Facts all wrong and shit.
And what a deserving fan base. Not like us Ranger fans who are "butt hurt" over back up goalies (whatever that means).
I just wish we had a team that was good enough to make a run. It's been months since we had a shot.
With 18 games in hand.
Islanders - 22 (in 42 games)
We'll see if the Rangers can keep up with the Islanders' speed. Key for the Isles IMO is to stay out of the box. Rangers power play has looked good lately and Isles PK still hasn't gotten sorted out yet. I think Okposo is going to have a big game tonight.
Mid June.
I'm guessing you haven't watched many Ranger games.
I do think in years past the Rangers knew a gritty game was going to be played against the lowly Islanders. Today its skill on skill. The talent is there. The Islanders are on par with talent on their team. Its all about doing your job. Executing and playing a full 60 minutes.
That's a lot of stupid for one post. Nice work!
Smith said “we came into their territory and let’s face it, it’s still their territory and it will never change.”
He said that when the Islanders won their first Stanley Cup, the Rangers were still on the front page of the paper and “they had been out almost a month and a half.” (Sports Talk NY)
Mike Vaccaro wrote in the NY Post that if NY didn’t turn for the Islanders in the early 80s it never will. (NY Post)

Im surprised there havent been too many hashtags and talking about fucking up the ass yet from the rangers fans
Weeee! Let's win the skills competition! 2 points! Too bad there's no "fastest skater" or "hardest shot" or "passing competition" for the Isles to really show their stuff!

Ranger fans are funny. Does that help pass the time while you enjoy your long and storied history of suck with occasional fits of mediocrity?
Amazing how this thread bothered so many Ranger fans when it was obvoiusly tongue in cheek being that it was only a few games into the season. Good news is that the title is still true and we're past the halfway mark.
BX and Greg (with the Goodfellas gif) - well played, gentlemen.
It feels familar. I'll let you in on a phone conversation with an Islander fan from May 2014. The Rangers were wrapping up Game 4 with Pittsburgh and I get a call, and I hear - "We" (<- apparantly my buddyis employed by the Islanders". We gave Pittsbugh a much harder time in the playoffs (referring to the 2013 series). At least the Islanders have heart.
The Rangers have zero heart. We just "buy our players" (which in a league with a salary cap is tough to do, at least I think).

You guys make it so easy.

No, I am just jealous that the Rangers do not have the history of success the Islanders do. That is why I can't wait until 2026 (if I am still alive) because if we end up one point better than the Islanders, I am going to give you guys a piece of my mind!
Oh I got one more. "There were a lot of passengers tonight". You hear this when guys decide to coast and not play 60.

Just a reminder that 1983 was 32 years ago, and it's been 22 years since the Islanders won a playoff series.
Tweak Rangers fans if you must, but Islanders fans are keeping themselves warm with memories of a era that took place before most people had VCRs and cable television.

You are spot on. The Isles have been a joke for 20 years. For the most part, Isles fans aren't acting thumping out chests. We are concerned that our team hasn't played all that great the last few weeks.
What I find funny, is that Ranger fans look at their franchise as if they are the Bruins, Hawks, Kings etc.... when in reality, you have 1 cup since 1940. Getting to the ECF-SCF is great, but as you recall with Jets fans, it is comical bragging about final appearances without winning it all.

This would be a great post!!!!
If it was factual.
I don't know, but I have to say - sucks that it's on a Tuesday, when I could be watching The A-Team and Remington Steele.

So, you don't seem to like it when Rangers fans offer their assessment of you, but have no problem telling us all how we look at our team?
Trust me, we're all keenly aware of our Stanley Cup history. There are plenty of fans in the NHL who have a lot of reasons to look down on the Rangers, but fans of a team that has been completely irrelevant for two decades aren't among them.

Now you have gone too far. So what I still own a VHS in order to cuddle up with and get the warm and fuzzies of my youth. Is that so wrong? And for good measure, I also have my undersized Clark Gillies jersey, Al Arbour glasses and Bill Torrey bow tie ready to roll tonight.
Let's go Islanders!
Or that the Ranger fans are thumping their chests.

I have no problem with you commenting on our team. Isles fans shouldn't be talking any trash to the Rangers. Isles have been the laughingstock of the league for 20 years. We have no right to look down on the Rangers. That being said, the Rangers aren't the Yankees, Canadians, Kings, Bruins, Hawks or even Big Blue etc... in terms of status and success....any I find that more often than not, Rangers fans view their franchise in that light.
In any event, hope tonight is a good one. Wouldn't be the worst thing if both teams got a point.
There is no level of arrogance that can match the floppers and their fan base north of the border.
Will you consider switching teams again if we win tonight?

O please. Rangers fans over at HFBoards and in the real world always cry about how they get no respect for going to the SCF. Jets fans made the same complaints when they went to back-to-back AFC Championship games.....hence the comparison.
Enough of this nonsense. Let's have a good clean game tonight.
You all are in for a valuable lesson tonight.

Now that is a true statement! Whoever said the Rangers were anything other than...well the Rangers. I'll steal a quote from an Eric Lindros (pre Ranger) documentary. Why does he have to be the "next Gretzky", why can't he be the "first Lindros".
Anyway, I for one NEVER saw the Rangers as anything other than what they are.
You are what your record is so if I dont get a chance to tonight, congratulations. The Islanders should easily handle the mediocre Rangers.
You all are in for a valuable lesson tonight.
Depends on whether the game is decided by the hockey equivalent of H-O-R-S-E or not.
Actually, the Rangers historically are a lot like the Hawks/Bruins. Hawks have 5 Cups, Bruins 6. Largely pedestrian to mediocre franchises that are a lot better now.
I am actually disappointed in Mike from Long Beach because we had a fairly amicable Islander-Ranger debate. I guess the pending clinching tonight brought out his humility.
Congrats Rangers fans

You had to go on a record-setting run just get a whiff of the Islanders' farts in the standings. But tonight it's time for your reality check. The landscape of the Metropolitan division has changed, and for you guys, not for the better.

It's not my fault that the Isles have been perhaps the most irrelevant hockey team over the last 25 years. The Islanders futility collapsed the whole isles rangers thing, not my post at 8:52am on January 13, 2015.
On field rivalries dont exist based on mere geography. The Knicks and Nets never developed that rivalry -- Knicks fans have WAY stronger feelings towards Boston, Chicago, Miami, and the Pacers (and more!). I guess there is a big brother-little brother thing, so the Isles probably still look at the Rangers as a rival. Also, since they've sucked for so long they havent developed other rivalries in the mean time. I guess there has been a super-sad revival of the Isles-Oils rivalry, as the Oilers have been just dominating you guys in the draft lottery recently. Not really shades of 82-84.
But I'll give the obligatory suck it, Fish if it makes you feel better.
You all know it's coming, you've all known it's coming. Just get your screenshots of the "1st place Islanders" in while you can.

How are any of these posts boasting? They are saying neither team has any room for bragging. Not sure when I have heard Rex or the Jets say anything similar, but you obviously follow the Jets much closer than I do.

Ah you are full of baloney!
I think they should bring out a wheel before the shootout that has lots of skills competitions and spin it to see which ones decide that night's game. hardest shot? 100 foot lob passes into a garbage can? fastest ice resurfacing? craziest shit a goalie says?
Congrats on winning your most recent cup when VCRs were the recording device used most often in homes?

Anything can happen, but for all the talk about the Islanders luck in OT/shootouts, I'd argue that Nash, St. Louis, Klein, Miller, and Brassard all having SH% above 15% is more relevant when predicting future performance. Once those numbers regress, we'll have to see where the goals come from. Rangers PDO is also at a 3 year high.

This is a really good point. I do think the Rangers have done a great job of getting high quality shooting chances more frequently this year than last (namely Nash), but the S% is probably unsustainable.
You mean like me? :-)
I am just hoping for a good, competitive game tonight.

Ummm... the Jets havent been a SuperBowl (that's = SCF) since 1969. I cant think of a more irrelevant comparison. The Rangers have won a Stanley Cup and been to another "superbowl" during that time.
I'm already on my second bucket... love it
go Isles!

Dont forget about the 4 cups and the drive for 5!!!
Even though it was a trade and not a signing.
I believe the trade was Messier for Steven Rice, Louie DeBrusk, and Bernie Nicholls with future considerations
the future considerations - Beuke for Dave Shaw
Graves was an RFA signing where we gave the Oilers Troy Mallette.
Kevin Lowe for some Oksuata or something
Tikkanen for Doug Weight
Glenn Anderson for Mike Gartner (loved "Garts")
MacTavish for Todd Marchant
Greg - I almost won Messier retirement jersey night tickets with that answer. Everyone answered who was the last person to wear #11 before Messier and I answered Graves. A lot of "Kelly Kisio" answers.
someone beat me to the punch!
I recently found that game in your photo on tape (I also wtil have a VHS) - Tie Domi fought Chris Nilan.
This is just wrong. The Isles status as a joke is not based on their failure to win a cup in 30 years. The Isles are a joke because they have gotten past the first round of the playoff just once since 1990.
And in any event your math is wrong. Isles havent won a cup in 30 years. The Rangers have won a cup in the last 75 (indeed, in the last 30).
If we lose: "Islanders suck" "they will never sustain the success through out the season" yada yada.
Whatever happens, us Islander fans can always hang one thing over you fuckers:
Hudson is a Rangers fan.... Let that sink in for a while.

JayBinQueens - Hudson likes every team! You could have said - THIS guy was your coach
And they still won the 5v5 possession AND scoring chance battle in that game. The first 10 minutes were bad, but from the first goal through the end of the game, the Rangers were the better team.

The problem is Isles fans treating a pre-ASG matchup as their super bowl. Rangers fans know it's just a game, and a fairly unimportant one at that since the Rangers would need to totally collapse to miss the playoffs.
Well the point is less about the B1G (which clearly isn't a shitbag conference, #champs) and more about your unwavering commitment to being wrong about virtually every sports related topic you care about. I mean your ability to be categorically incorrect about everything you care about. It's truly remarkable.
Literally all year long you guys keep singing the same song.
It's only 1 month!
it's only a 1/4 season!
It's only 3 months!
It's not even the All Star break!
And all the while you continue to trail us. Meanwhile, your pre-All Star break run of 13 out of 14... well that obviously means a lot. You're clearly a Cup Contender because of a holiday season run! Your early success is valid. Ours is a mirage. It's so clear now.
Rangers fans truly are the worst of the big NY team fan bases. The Yankees have every right to be proud. They're the most successful American sports team ever. The Giants have 2 Super Bowls since 2007. The Knicks suck ass, but Knicks fans don't pretend that they're good. But Rangers fans? Well every year, a team that's won one championship in 75 years is somehow the saving grace for you entitled batch of losers. The lack of perspective this fan base has is astonishing.

Great point! The last 75 years have been an overwhelming success for the Rangers. You have won as many Stanley Cups as the Jets have won Super Bowls.
The Rangers and the Jets - New York Sports Royalty!
Honestly, I think the Jets = Rangers fan base comparison is much more realistic. Every year Jets fans are chirping, just like Rangers fans, and every year it ends poorly. Both have 1 relevant championship.
The Islanders are on their own island, no pun intended. They have 4 championships in 4 years. It was a dynasty and then nothing after. I don't think the Islanders pretend that it's been anything but embarrassing for 20 years. Jets fans (until recently) have actually been proud of what they've been accomplishing.. much like Rangers fans... even though ultimately, but franchises really aren't accomplishing the ultimate goal. And that's fine, but stop pretending like you're the greatest thing the sport has to offer.

Absolutely an absurd statement. Worst fans
1. Jets (only because there are more than them)
2. Then Islanders

By "Big NY" fan bases, I'm referring to Yankees/Giants/Knicks/Rangers. I thought that was pretty clearly when I broke it down team by team in the following paragraph, but I must've forgotten I'm talking to Rangers fans who don't get it.
And yes, there is am embarrassing sense of entitlement. Look no further than your reactions to the Islanders' early success and the Rangers' recent hot streak. Take a guess which one you guys have invalidated and which one is a precursor of things to come.
It's a terrible fan base that acts like they're a perennial contender when they're not. It's a terrible fan base that worships their ringless netminder.
Simply put, they're foolhardy assholes, and boy is it fun putting you in your place thus far through half a season.

Here is a quote from your Jets former coach:
"We came to New York City to be the best team in the NFL, not just the best team in New York City. And I have news for you: We are the better team. We're the big brother....It seems clear that right now we are the better team and we are going to remain the better team for the next 10 years. Whether you like it or not, those are the facts and that's what is going to happen."
Sounds very similar.

A blink? The pro sports record for consecutive playoff series wins is some blink.
But you know, I'd prefer not to talk about those. I was born in 1985 so, unlike Rangers fans, I don't cling to some relic of a distant past. We are the best team now, and that's all I need.
So, by definition, the odds are that most teams will fall short.
Better to fall short in the playoffs than to fall short of the playoffs.
But, hey, the Isles might get in the tournament this year. There's hope.
Th Rangers have 1 championship in 75 years.
Sooo... this implication that the Rangers are somehow the Giants in your Islanders=Jets scenario is... funny I guess?
Nope, by any measure you are incorrect.
One measure would be that the reigning champs are the best until they've been unseated -- that would be the Kings
The other measure would be the team with the most points -- That would be the Preadators and Ducks. Of course, the edge there goes to Nashville because of games in hand.
Better record than the Rangers (even though there is an imbalance of games) =/= best team. It's barely an argument for better team than the Rangers currently.
You are the guys who say in 2014 - well last year we took the Penguins in 6 and you guys lost (even thought the Rangers would win that series).
How about this gem - in 2005, the Devils smoked the Rangers in a sweep - Islander fans "AT least we won a game in the playoffs" - however the Islanders didnt make tjhe playoffs that year, they were referring to the Tampa Bay series pre-lockout.
But the Ranger fans are dillusional. I don't remember being in the Finals last year saying - well we at least made it further than the Islanders.

Have I said the Rangers and the Giants are equals?
Again, I guess because you typed it - it is true. I'll scroll up and check but I don't remember saying this. So is it funny? It's false - maybe funny?

Drew, my comments are obviously not intended for all Rangers fans.
Drewcon, I actually feel a little bad because you're trying to be reasonable with me right now.... but I'm just enjoying the banter. You're a good fan and I've just messing around. This is fun.
IMO the Rangers are one of those teams who don't really turn in on until this time of year. They are really rolling right now.

You summed them up perfectly, they are the Notre Dame football version for hockey. Everyone wants them to do well because they are from NY and good for ratings. When they start doing well you hear this is great this is going to be the year and everyone starts declaring this is the year they win the Cup. Then they get to the finals and get swept!
Look our 1st place team will just show up tonight. I hope they just let the Isles on the ice with a superior franchise. I am not sure that any thing we have accomplished so far this season means anything if can not just compete with the 2014 Stanley Cup Final runner-ups. I mean if we get it to a skills competiton it would mean that we were lucky just to keep it tied to the end. I am sure already the refs will screw the Rangers with numerous horrible calls that any normal fan will know was a penalty or not a penalty. I am sure the King will show up with his Olypmic Gold Medal and show it to his teammates to help inspire them of what to aspire to. We will show up with our bottom of the barrel coach, our above avg. record on the road and see what happens. I just hope when tonight is over WE KICK THE SHIT OUT OF THE RAGS!!!!
Islanders: 22 ROW in 42 games
Lets all just agree Islanders >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Rangers, and then enjoy tonight's game.

Is this the chief of the Hekawis?
If we lose: "Islanders suck" "they will never sustain the success through out the season" yada yada.
Whatever happens, us Islander fans can always hang one thing over you fuckers:
Hudson is a Rangers fan.... Let that sink in for a while.
Well, he's half a Rangers fan - you guys have 12th Man.
Islanders: 22 ROW in 42 games
Greg, should we start copying and pasting all the analytics that the Islanders are in the top of the league in most advanced stats? If you believe in those the Isles are not going away this season. The key is to get into the playoffs. Being ahead of the Rags is irrelevant.

Oh! You DID watch the series. Thanks for acknowledging some of the bad luck. To be honest, I am still in shock that my lowly Rangers made it that far with who you call a "queen". We made it despite Lundqvist being our overrated goalie.
Series M W L GF GA
New York Islanders 4 0 22 8

New York Islanders win series 4 games to 0
Or this - ( New Window )
exactly. that 22-3 curbstomp was an absolutely beautiful way to start a cup run.
fuck the isles.
Here is what is etched in my brain. The Islanders have played the Rangers 8 times in the playoffs. The islanders have won 5 times and lost 3. Hopefully for the good of this board and to get us all through to baseball season and training camp they get a chance to make it 6 and 3.
Well it's not like there are a bunch of Stanley Cup winning years for it to get lost in...
12th Man - The Rangers suck though, they aren't making the playoffs.
Well it's not like there are a bunch of Stanley Cup winning years for it to get lost in...
Yeahhhh!!! Mike from Ohio - Tell 'em. The "Rags" think they are the Bruins, Hawks, Kings, Canadiens or Islanders.

That year bothered me in many ways.A) Our playoff hero Glenn Healey leaves to become the Rags backup.B) We replace him with Ron Hextall C) that series.
Hextall was terrible

I'm pretty sure this is the first time I have responded to you on this thread Drew.
But we still do have the Giants in common.
And yes, only loss to Rangers!
Brett's trap game comment was funny. Overall, though this is a potentially 4 pt game all that is important is getting into the playoffs. The Islanders are a solid team now and some back and forth is good and makes the games more fun. That being said the Islanders need to keep doing what they are doing and they will be in the playoffs.
As for tonight going to be fun watching a game that is not only for bragging rights on the board but 2 quality teams that both have NY in their names playing hockey again. It is about time. GO ISLES!!!!
And yes, only loss to Rangers!
And the Rangers partially won that game because of a bad call against Ovechkin in the second that led to a PP goal.
as far as my confidence in my team (all of my teams). I always expect the worst and criticize the Rangers (and Giants)
It should be fun tonight - and I look at the Islanders (always) as a tough game.
Rangers, Caps, Islanders and Pens are all playing great hockey of late.

Hey look during that time the Islanders beat them twice in OT. Those 2 wins do not count though as you know some people on this thread do not count OT and shootout wins as legit wins.
Ouch! Even as a male that sounds rough. Anyone ever take a shower after runner's nipples?
Whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa.....Jets fans?
No dude, that is what ISLES fan remind me of...a cross-breed between Jets fans ans Redskins fans.
EVERYTIME you guys make ANY kind of upgrade, have a three game POINT streak, you all act like you've completed the drive for five.
Tomas Vanek, Dan Boyle, Ryan Smyth, Garth Snow is God.....sigh....it sucks the commish is one of maybe 5 Piles fans beause otherwise this shitstain of a team is long gone from the NY market.
You all are in for a valuable lesson tonight.
Spoken like a very humble Isles/Jets/Redskins fan.
LOL....what happened to the "If the Isles draw at least 10K tonight...everybody gets a free kids meal!"
Admit he's one of yours Brett! Do it!!

Jets fan comparison.
Shut the fuck up.
Rangers fans are the best fans in both NY and the NHL. They are the most loyal, diehard, and committed.
Your fanbase didn't even sell out during the drive for five, and was back to drawing 10K within a few seasons of the gravy train running out....a dynasty which, very impressive, SHOULD HAVE stopped in 1982 but you got LUCKY and beat PIT in OT in game seven.
Ranger fans ARE humble, very. I never see threads coming out each time some marginal upgrade is made proclaiming the team to be a contender.
EVERY FUCKING YEAR, your stupid FIVE fans do the same shit.
Devil fans at least KNOW their place, you guys are JETS FANS, you use any bit of positive news as a chance to stick your chest out because it kills you that YOU ARE NOT and never will be a legitimate New York team.
90% of the Jet fanbase is Isles fans?
No wonder they can't sell out those PSLs!!!
I think the NY Redbulls have more fans.

I like the NY teams in, the legit, real NY teams, in all sports I follow.
The only catch is Mario...which actually not only made me a fan of them...but made hockey my favorite sport and the sport I choose to play growing up over baseball and football.

Why can't you be like Devils fans and find your own space.

Sorry your ex girl was a Islanders fan and the guy she cheated on you with had seasons to the Islanders. Only explains the hate.
How about look at it the other way, we as fans have endured hell as a fan base and what little we had. The smallest positive sign was huge for us. Therefore we got a chance to be happy for once. Obviously all those experiments didn't pan out and it was back to the same shit. But guess what DBAG, things are improving for us and the 5 Islanders fans have become 10 and 15 and 20. You would have bailed on this team 20 years ago but Im still fucking here.

I just checked Tiqiq....Rangers tickets are like the most expensive in the US...meantime I can still get tickets at the Maus for $75 for a Ranger game, and $10 for a Blue Jackets game...but yes...YOUR fanbase is driving the ticket market.

I said, look on TIQIQ not Stubhub, and do it for games against non-premium teams, like the Blue Jackets, where you can get $10 seats.
The Red Wings don't count on a weekend! Even Florida would sell out that game.
Heck, you would have sold out that game last year.
Enjoy Joe Louis East.
I could say the same to you.
He wouldn't bail. He would wait for them to be relevant again and pretend he's a tri-fan

Girls don't like the Islanders, only skanks who smell like Fishstix do...and they aren't desirable ladies for me.
If you never spoke up until this season, it'd be one thing, but every year, every year....you all jump on the chance to believe it's 1984.
Tomas Vanek/Ryan Smtyh/on and on and on and on...you wanted a fucking banner for taking PIT to 6 games in the first round of a lockout shortened season.

Yes, because the Islanders are playing...the Islanders?
Dumbass, the game is at MSG and involves the Rangers...Rangers Isles tickets always are expensive BECAUSE OF RANGER FANS not because of your five imbreed fucking fans who get invaded by 2/3rds of the league.

Now, you are back tracking and saying it's "just the corporations".....more irrationilzation.
And dumbass, if the Rangers somehow purged the base of corporations, the Garden would just be more young and loud, it wouldn't be any less crowded.
Forget about the barn on a Tues, Thurs or Saturday.
An Islanders /Rangers ticket is in high demand. Why is that?
Because its a damn good game tonight. End of story.

I agree. It has to do with that and not that the Isles are somehow popular.

So you're saying the game against Montreal isn't a damn good game?
Those 5 isles fans must be the richest guys in NYC.
Quote:
Rangers have more fans and they rape their fans with their ticket prices. Point? Ringling brothers sells out the garden and so did Menudo. The most loyal fans in sports? I highly doubt it. Just because corporations buy tickets at msg regardless of whether the vermin that occupy are good or not doesn't mean their fans are loyal. If most of those guys had to buy the tickets themselves they would be staying at home as well.
I thought it was you or one of your other fellow two fans who made the initial point about tonight's ticket prices being proof of the Isles legitimacy?
Now, you are back tracking and saying it's "just the corporations".....more irrationilzation.
And dumbass, if the Rangers somehow purged the base of corporations, the Garden would just be more young and loud, it wouldn't be any less crowded.
The Islanders games at the NVMC are more in demand and selling well on the secondary market. That was my point and the reason why this game is a huge deal in NYC tonight is because of where the two teams are at right now in the standings. You guys always sell out. Remember. The reason why it's a bigger deal than usual is because the Isles resurgence. Believe it or not it's the truth. Ask Francesser. I'm sure your hockey knowledge is at his level.
Those 5 isles fans must be the richest guys in NYC.
Because of the Ranger fans. Duh

Have fun watching the game everyone! This was a great thread today. Tomorrow, we will be talking about our new D coordinator. Or will Francesser say anything about the RAYNE-GIZ or ISLAND-DIZ?

How bout da Eye Lindas?
But you know, I'd prefer not to talk about those. I was born in 1985 so, unlike Rangers fans, I don't cling to some relic of a distant past. We are the best team now, and that's all I need.
LOL, so FEKker has literally never seen his team hoist a trophy. How sad and very Jets like indeed.
By the way, the Rangers have won 2 titles in 75 years... this year ain't over yet. And what an arbitrary number to focus on anyway.

Impressive that you've never referred to your favorite teams as "we". Kudos.
I'm SURE we will never see you do that and call you out on it ;)
No I haven't. Because im not part of the team. I'm a fan.
Grow up you fuckin scrub.
Well, looks like your as good a fan as you are at comebacks. You suck at both.
Hope your spelling is better than your fandom, ya fuckin idiot.
Hey douche bag typing while watching a hockey game. Think I care about the spelling right now. 3-0. YES! YES! YES! A goal for every YES!
And by "Financial Advisor" I hope you mean that you merely play the "Bank" during Saturday night games of Monopoly at the mental institution.
Teach me your ways....please
I feared this would happen.
Watch, Rangers lose to Boston, then beat PIT.
Like we said, trap game.
If nobody does I will next time, combining the two is bad mojo.

All good. No excuses. It's a beat down at the moment.
Give it a fuckin rest with the JV talk. Admit it, the Isles are a decent team and are dominating tonight. Geez!!!
LOL! Exactly!

That's a great idea. You go right and start your own thread.
Lee had a nice power move.

Most people don't get the basics of talking shit. I find it hilarious. Congrats on your team winning tonight.
Next time they're dead! DEAD!

And do a Rangers version, segregated, from the Isles?

Butthurt about being down 3-0 even though still plenty of time left?
Actually the shorty was extremely weak. This was probably to try and shake them up
Hudson admitted to loving the original six, plus the Penguins. So he can start a lot of threads by himself.

You see I love when the opposing losing fan gets personal that is when you know your under their skin. As for my job no complaints from my clients in fact a number of them on these boards. Trust me they are laughing at you all the way to the bank.YES!YES!YES!
Really? Not taking anything away from the Isles, but the 3rd goal was about as weak as it gets.
Though I would think Hank has more rope than that, esp with how he has played of late. I'm hoping that Hank wanted to come out and that he didn't hurt something.

This isn't a baseball thread. This is a fucking hockey thread. We all give and take shit and we shake hands at the end of the series.
If your team wins, great. If not, you take it like a man and get them next time.
No need to pussy it up with separate threads.
as an Isles fan I just know they like to blow 3 goal leads.

Right, baseball isn't a sport.
YES!

Under my skin? Obviously you haven't been around here long enough.
As far as your clients, I'd venture to say you haven't even passed your S7 and you're just a wannabe still writing down your 200 in a binder hoping that sometime hits it outta the park. Gtfo small timer.
You can't be serious. Hamonic tries to run Stempniak and bounces off, which requires Clutterbuck to start taking swings at Boyle.
SHUT OUT.
9-3 in two games.
Fucking bitches just got beat down!!!!

Funny how you see it through rags glasses. I see it through isles glasses.
Financial advisor my ass.
Good game to the rest of you. Isles looking strong.
That is what Clutterbuck probably was telling him. :)
Glad Garth swung and miss on that one.

Good night BigBlueBooHoo!
And Clutter comes in and takes a swing like a pussy dirtbag.

Yup. That and vanes were good ones. Thanks for being douche and not playing here.

Not really. Hamonic tried to hit Stempniak. He fell. Clutterbuck started swinging at people. Pretty much the whole story.
the way the NHL has the playoffs set up I wouldn't be shocked to see Rangers Islanders round 1 of the playoffs (assuming the Penguins win the division which isn't a fair assumption right now).
Right now though it's Rangers Lightning and Islanders Bruins.
Lot of hockey left though of course.
Do they have A1 there or do I have to bring my own?

Clutterbuck tried to punch Boyle in his broken nose, then flipped out unilaterally. Even on a good night for your team, you have to persist in being wrong about the trivial.
Clutter was the jerkoff that flew in after the play when Kulemin got fucking tossed after taking a run.

Yeah, there is a reasonable chance that both the Isles and Rangers pass the Penguins, and the Caps won't go away. It should be interesting.
He wasn't mixing it up. He got suckered.
Faceoffs are still a huge, huge problem. To the point where we may be forced to try to look into acquiring another 3C and swing Hayes over to a wing. Playoff games will go much like this one did if we continue to give up possession on draws.
Ain't going to get any easier with BOS, CBJ and PIT up next so we've got to nut up and get back on track.
Shitty game for us but shit happens.
all the way through. Took both games at the Garden this year.

I still made 2x face on my tickets tonight after fees. Who wins tonight? MAB wins. A steak at Mastros (they just opened in midtown.. highly recommend) will still taste great courtesy of this buyer.

Are you 1% yet? Did you get your promotion? If so, congrats! If not, you can eat down the street at something more your speed, like a Virgils.

I will be there Friday night. The Barn should be loud. A 5-2 road trip, very nice.
Wow, psyched at my boys. I honestly did not expect this result (as far as a shutout). I stayed away from all the madness today; combo of actually having a big deal in play at the office, but frankly I was as nervous for this game as I'd be for a Giants playoff game. Haven't felt this energy in a while.
Listen...both teams played well. Both teams are hot. Both teams are just...good. Will be a fun run to and into the playoffs.
Have a good night boys. I am sure there will be some more fingernails to bite in our next tilt.

I'm in the top 7.5% right now.
I am going to Morton's tomorrow night (I'm not paying, though).
Feels like the Rangers lost a regular season game in January and have to get back on track. Can't win 'em all.. it just started to feel that way for a while. Suck it, fuckbag. We've got 3 more left against you in that dump you play in.
Sure. YTD Regulation Wins:
NYR 19 (in 40 games)
NYI 18 (in 42 games)
Hybrid hockey irrelevant to the postseason (4-on-4, SOW, OTL): NYI 12, NYR 9

Solid. Enjoy. Morton's is definitely a top 7.5% kind of place. Ditto Ruth's Chris.
Yes, that is what happened right after the cheap shot

More like sad. And Fish and other Islanders fans are Knicks fans. It's cool. We're gonna get Okafor, bitchez.
I guess they couldn't riot in Uniondale without a proper minyan so this how they choose to respond.
Idiots.
even a loser can find a winner, huh?
Glad Garth swung and miss on that one.
You know Halak is the reason for your good half season and once he gets hurt, gets tired, which he always does, you're back to Uniondale?
Between your bipolar disorder, heavily overcompensated inferiority complex and classic narcissism, it's like seeing Sibyl brought to life.

I'm not any of those, please YOUR Islander fanbase issues onto me.
Funny, my nine year old kids make more sense than you do.

You could've been an Islander. You chose otherwise. Fuck off.
nobody wants to be an Islander, unless forced to...like Boyle, Vanek, Nabakov, Visnovesky, and that will not change when you move from the dump to the worst NHL rink next season.
Yep because Kulemin and Grabovski and Halak all signed long term deals it was because they were forced. The only thing forced around here is you on us. I am sure everyone on this board would up our donations to get rid of you. Hoping my team makes you feel like shit twice in 1 week tonight.

Careful with the hipster jokes; you'll be in BK soon enough.
just like Vanek or Ryan Smyth?

If Halak is the only reason for our good half season then how come the Islanders are at the top of the league in 5 v 5 Fenwick-close (a metric that doesn't involve goalies and has done a great job at predicting post-season success over the past few years)?
To me this is the biggest reason the Islanders are where they are right now. Destroychuk! This just maybe the best trade a NHL GM has made all year.

I said this earlier in the thread that their were Ranger fans who thought OT victories meant nothing. Greg from LI said of course they did, Then MAB comes in and proves my point. I do not care how we get 2 points tonight if we get them. I just want 2 points.
