I have a couple concerns going in to tonight's game:
1. Trap game for us.
2. We're playing the team with the dirtiest captain in the Metro division. This spearing sleazebag is probably going to hunt after the superior team.
Eat shit, arc. 7:00 start.

The only thing that concerns me is goofy shit happens when they've played this team over the past few years. However, Hank is as steady as he has ever been and the the fact they can throw four efficient lines out there every night is huge.
I don't see them beating themselves but like I said the Islanders have a way of getting shitty breaks in these games when they play the Rangers. The other thing is the law of averages. It may be the Rangers turn to turn that around. Then again they have been winning so much of late they are bound to lose once in awhile.
Read the fucking rules.
Henrik isn't a backup goalie, the game is at the fucking Mecca and we've disposed of much more difficult opponents than the Styx lately.
Fuck outta here with trap game. The Rangers will win.
Can we buy Capuano some suits, by the way? Maybe he purposely goes for the 'never wore a suit in my life so let me go grab one from goodwill' look to blend in with the five fans the Islanders have?

Wah Wah Wah. Stop crying. Your post is moronic. Go look at who the Isles have beaten this season. The Isles are great in OT/Shootouts and you are holding that against them. Go write a letter to Bettman asking him to change the OT format.
No, they just got lucky. Like Anaheim did early last year. And like a few teams often do in Octobers against the King.
Hank had a long playoff run, he just had to get back in the swing of things.
You ain't scoring 6 goals again tonight.
And if my Aunt had balls...
Should we take away from the Islanders any losses when Johnson or Poulin played an opposing starter? Should those who played Columbus when they were besieged by injuries have their wins revoked? You can only play who you have on your schedule when they are scheduled and against what line-up they choose to put out there
I think the Rangers PLAYERS probably will play lipservice to the notion that this is a rivalry, but really I think guys like DG and Staal (the long termers) view the Caps, Pens, Flyers, and Devils (bad blood) as bigger rivals.
My worry is that the Isles DO view the Rangers as real rivals.

Best post. Thanks arc. I agree. Go Isles.

Isles play against the backup when they put a 6-spot up against the queen earlier this year???

How is putting up 6 goals "lucky." You guys are comical. Can't admit the Isles are a good team this year.

Thanks for playing deej. Way to collapse the whole isles rags thing. Go get pumped up for rags vs caps. Oh and when they drop the puck tonight let me know if your more pumped up than usual when a nasty hit it made or goal is scored.
All those top 5 draft picks and years of sacrifice finally pay off. The Rangers making the finals and consistently makingthe playoffs since the first lockout is living in the past. Although it's amazing the Rangers have had any success with that overated "Queen" in the net.
Congratulations Islander fans and kudos for being the humble fan you is.
It's not a trap game, but it's also not any more important than any other divisional game. Let's all remember what month it is. I know it's been a while since the Islanders have done anything worth mentioning, but let's not sink to their level by making a big fuss about a Tuesday night game in January.
Bad enough I've got a friend who just remembered he liked the Islanders this year - and couldn't tell you how and from which team they acquired Nick Leddy - now acting like a die hard. Sure, I could do without hearing him chirp tonight, but I'm secure in the knowledge that while this is in the top-10 most important games for the Islanders in the last 8 years, it's not even in the top 30 for the Rangers in the last 8 months.
Yeah it's been tough.
Hank's allowed 2 or fewer goals in 9 of his last 11 (and the other two were 3 goals). Good luck.
So modest - ( New Window )
Oc-fucking-tober!
Oc-fucking-tober!
LOLGreg. Facts all wrong and shit.
And what a deserving fan base. Not like us Ranger fans who are "butt hurt" over back up goalies (whatever that means).
I just wish we had a team that was good enough to make a run. It's been months since we had a shot.
With 18 games in hand.
Islanders - 22 (in 42 games)
We'll see if the Rangers can keep up with the Islanders' speed. Key for the Isles IMO is to stay out of the box. Rangers power play has looked good lately and Isles PK still hasn't gotten sorted out yet. I think Okposo is going to have a big game tonight.
