I have a couple concerns going in to tonight's game:
1. Trap game for us.
2. We're playing the team with the dirtiest captain in the Metro division. This spearing sleazebag is probably going to hunt after the superior team.
Eat shit, arc. 7:00 start.

I am actually disappointed in Mike from Long Beach because we had a fairly amicable Islander-Ranger debate. I guess the pending clinching tonight brought out his humility.
Congrats Rangers fans

You had to go on a record-setting run just get a whiff of the Islanders' farts in the standings. But tonight it's time for your reality check. The landscape of the Metropolitan division has changed, and for you guys, not for the better.

It is also fair to say the Rangers have been a joke for the past 75 years. I'm not sure why Ranger fans believe they have some long history of success. They have a long history of showing up and playing hockey
How are any of these posts boasting? They are saying neither team has any room for bragging. Not sure when I have heard Rex or the Jets say anything similar, but you obviously follow the Jets much closer than I do.

Ah you are full of baloney!
I think they should bring out a wheel before the shootout that has lots of skills competitions and spin it to see which ones decide that night's game. hardest shot? 100 foot lob passes into a garbage can? fastest ice resurfacing? craziest shit a goalie says?
Congrats on winning your most recent cup when VCRs were the recording device used most often in homes?
You all know it's coming, you've all known it's coming. Just get your screenshots of the "1st place Islanders" in while you can.
Anything can happen, but for all the talk about the Islanders luck in OT/shootouts, I'd argue that Nash, St. Louis, Klein, Miller, and Brassard all having SH% above 15% is more relevant when predicting future performance. Once those numbers regress, we'll have to see where the goals come from. Rangers PDO is also at a 3 year high.

Boy is it going to be a laugher when the Rangers pass the Isles in the standings and never look back...

This is a really good point. I do think the Rangers have done a great job of getting high quality shooting chances more frequently this year than last (namely Nash), but the S% is probably unsustainable.
You mean like me? :-)
I am just hoping for a good, competitive game tonight.
Getting to the ECF-SCF is great, but as you recall with Jets fans, it is comical bragging about final appearances without winning it all.
Ummm... the Jets havent been a SuperBowl (that's = SCF) since 1969. I cant think of a more irrelevant comparison. The Rangers have won a Stanley Cup and been to another "superbowl" during that time.
I'm already on my second bucket... love it
go Isles!

Dont forget about the 4 cups and the drive for 5!!!
Even though it was a trade and not a signing.
I believe the trade was Messier for Steven Rice, Louie DeBrusk, and Bernie Nicholls with future considerations
the future considerations - Beuke for Dave Shaw
Graves was an RFA signing where we gave the Oilers Troy Mallette.
Kevin Lowe for some Oksuata or something
Tikkanen for Doug Weight
Glenn Anderson for Mike Gartner (loved "Garts")
MacTavish for Todd Marchant
Greg - I almost won Messier retirement jersey night tickets with that answer. Everyone answered who was the last person to wear #11 before Messier and I answered Graves. A lot of "Kelly Kisio" answers.
someone beat me to the punch!
I recently found that game in your photo on tape (I also wtil have a VHS) - Tie Domi fought Chris Nilan.
This is just wrong. The Isles status as a joke is not based on their failure to win a cup in 30 years. The Isles are a joke because they have gotten past the first round of the playoff just once since 1990.
And in any event your math is wrong. Isles havent won a cup in 30 years. The Rangers have won a cup in the last 75 (indeed, in the last 30).
If we lose: "Islanders suck" "they will never sustain the success through out the season" yada yada.
Whatever happens, us Islander fans can always hang one thing over you fuckers:
Hudson is a Rangers fan.... Let that sink in for a while.

JayBinQueens - Hudson likes every team! You could have said - THIS guy was your coach
And they still won the 5v5 possession AND scoring chance battle in that game. The first 10 minutes were bad, but from the first goal through the end of the game, the Rangers were the better team.

The problem is Isles fans treating a pre-ASG matchup as their super bowl. Rangers fans know it's just a game, and a fairly unimportant one at that since the Rangers would need to totally collapse to miss the playoffs.
Well the point is less about the B1G (which clearly isn't a shitbag conference, #champs) and more about your unwavering commitment to being wrong about virtually every sports related topic you care about. I mean your ability to be categorically incorrect about everything you care about. It's truly remarkable.
Literally all year long you guys keep singing the same song.
It's only 1 month!
it's only a 1/4 season!
It's only 3 months!
It's not even the All Star break!
And all the while you continue to trail us. Meanwhile, your pre-All Star break run of 13 out of 14... well that obviously means a lot. You're clearly a Cup Contender because of a holiday season run! Your early success is valid. Ours is a mirage. It's so clear now.
Rangers fans truly are the worst of the big NY team fan bases. The Yankees have every right to be proud. They're the most successful American sports team ever. The Giants have 2 Super Bowls since 2007. The Knicks suck ass, but Knicks fans don't pretend that they're good. But Rangers fans? Well every year, a team that's won one championship in 75 years is somehow the saving grace for you entitled batch of losers. The lack of perspective this fan base has is astonishing.

Great point! The last 75 years have been an overwhelming success for the Rangers. You have won as many Stanley Cups as the Jets have won Super Bowls.
The Rangers and the Jets - New York Sports Royalty!
Honestly, I think the Jets = Rangers fan base comparison is much more realistic. Every year Jets fans are chirping, just like Rangers fans, and every year it ends poorly. Both have 1 relevant championship.
The Islanders are on their own island, no pun intended. They have 4 championships in 4 years. It was a dynasty and then nothing after. I don't think the Islanders pretend that it's been anything but embarrassing for 20 years. Jets fans (until recently) have actually been proud of what they've been accomplishing.. much like Rangers fans... even though ultimately, but franchises really aren't accomplishing the ultimate goal. And that's fine, but stop pretending like you're the greatest thing the sport has to offer.

Absolutely an absurd statement. Worst fans
1. Jets (only because there are more than them)
2. Then Islanders
Sense of entitlement? I guess people can just make $#1t up and because it's said - it's true.
I know 0 Ranger fans who live in the past nor have a sense of entitlement. Yet "YOU GUYS" - say things like, at least we took Pittsburgh to 6 games last year. Or the Islanders at least have heart.
And Ranger fans have a sense of entitlement?

I think if I'm the little brother, then a more complete analogy would be the little brother who'd love to look up to big brother, but there's just nothing to admire.
So now little brother is taking over.

Isles fans, we already know they enjoy shitting on us like OSI enjoys shitting on women. We don't need their approval. Where is Dav by the way? Nice speech Fish. The sad part is it's probably better than Jacks.

By "Big NY" fan bases, I'm referring to Yankees/Giants/Knicks/Rangers. I thought that was pretty clearly when I broke it down team by team in the following paragraph, but I must've forgotten I'm talking to Rangers fans who don't get it.
And yes, there is am embarrassing sense of entitlement. Look no further than your reactions to the Islanders' early success and the Rangers' recent hot streak. Take a guess which one you guys have invalidated and which one is a precursor of things to come.
It's a terrible fan base that acts like they're a perennial contender when they're not. It's a terrible fan base that worships their ringless netminder.
Simply put, they're foolhardy assholes, and boy is it fun putting you in your place thus far through half a season.

You should admire the fact that we can win a playoff series. The last time your team did that, you were still in diapers.
And.. yawn.
Wake me up when you just have a better season than the Rangers. Hasn't happened once since the lockout.
