I For One Am Rooting For The Pats To Win The Superbowl

gidiefor : Mod : 1/19/2015 6:56 am
It will make the 2007 and 2011 Giants the Only real Dent in Brady's Armour - - Sweet! - as the Joy and Significance of those two Giants wins and Eli and Couglin's performance will grow stronger & stronger with time

May the force be with the Giants Glory!!

YeaH BabY!!

I'm rooting for the Pats too
hudson : 1/19/2015 9:16 am : link
For reasons similar to gidfor and Milton.
I'm sick of the whole Bellichik can't win without spying nonsense.
Go
jamesmichaelworm : 1/19/2015 9:23 am : link
Seattle!!! Brady and his whining can never win again
yep.
RicFlair : 1/19/2015 9:25 am : link
go pats.
It makes me feel dirty, but I have to pull for NE
Greg from LI : 1/19/2015 9:28 am : link
There's so much to hate about Seattle. They shouldn't even Ben in the damned game.
......
Micko : 1/19/2015 9:29 am : link
Can't root for the Pats. I very much enjoy watching them lose.
Hell no
JonC : 1/19/2015 9:43 am : link
Go Seahawks, the football Gods owe you one.
I get mod's logic for rooting for pats
Les in TO : 1/19/2015 9:49 am : link
but i'm pulling for seahawks - great fans who are finally getting a taste of winning after many years of terrible football. i have no hate for the pats, they are a dynasty that i respect and i heart little bill.
BB & Brady over Carroll, Sherman, and Wilson's ass kissing anytime
GloryDayz : 1/19/2015 9:51 am : link
No fault of Wilson, seems like a nice guy, not his fault everybody thinks he's better than he really is (to me anyways)

BB with the spygate, deflate-gate, or whatever, over Carroll sickening gum chewing smerk
There is a lot of douchiness
pjcas18 : 1/19/2015 9:54 am : link
and hate-ability to go around on both sides in this game.

1. Brady (and his wife - don't care if she's a super model)
2. Pats fans
3. Seahawks players who pulled out the "no one said we could do it, and everyone counted us out" line. WTF? Half the gambling world or more had Pats Seahawks in the SB back in July and August and again in December.
4. Pete Carroll
5. Seahawks fans
6. Russell Wilson HOF bust makers (these people differ from #5)
7. Belichick, yeah, I like his Giants history and maybe i'd feel different if he were "our douchebag" but hard to deny he's a douchebag.

but living in New England for me the fallout of a Patriots win will linger and be much much worse than a Seahawks win - tenfold worse for me if the Pats win.

So, I wouldn't say I'm "rooting" for either team, but I'd prefer a Seahawks win if I had to pick a team.

Great fans? You obviously don't know any personally.
Just one play in either game,
Doomster : 1/19/2015 10:02 am : link
could have had the Ravens and the Packers in the SB....

Neither team was a "dominant" team during the season, but the Pats have a coach, that has his teams win games that they are suppose to win....his teams do not play down to the level of other teams, and he goes for the jugular when he has a team down, creating "easy" wins....

Game can go either way....depends on which team shows up....the Giants have given the Seahawks the blueprint for defeating the Patriots....to quote Billy Joel, "Pressure!"

dont care who wins
spike : 1/19/2015 10:04 am : link
I just want a good game for once.
hate the Pats and I'm an NFC guy at the end of the day,
Del Shofner : 1/19/2015 10:06 am : link
plus I have some really good friends in Seattle.

Hawks for me.
I am all in for the Pats...
Chris in Philly : 1/19/2015 10:09 am : link
1. Belichick. Once a Giant always a Giant.

2. I like the idea of them being able to beat anyone but us.

3. I still owe them for beating the Eagles in the Supe Bowl and keeping that trophy case empty.

4. I would like to smack Pete Carroll right in his gum chewing face.

Go Pats.
Oh yeah...
Chris in Philly : 1/19/2015 10:10 am : link
5. I won't soon forget Hawks fans and their 9/11 jokes.
I want Patriots
shabu : 1/19/2015 10:24 am : link
Give them a Superbowl when we are not in it. I don't want to end up facing them for a third time in the Superbowl.

Why TF, did you have to make good points? I mean really? I was all set to hope Brady was title-less for 10 years and here you pull that 9/11 reminder..

Here's #6: Many Seattle fans left the game early..You know the heralded "12th" man..

Go Pats

Danny Kanell : 1/19/2015 10:38 am : link
Go Pats! (And my boxes)
me too
chris r : 1/19/2015 10:39 am : link
makes our wins over them better if they only lose to the Giants in the SB. And I dislike the Seahawks.
Go Pats... I can't stand Seahawk fans... They are acting like
GMAN4LIFE : 1/19/2015 10:41 am : link
They have won 25 super bowls... Please dear God, let Brady beat the shit out of them
Going for Pats too
Geomon : 1/19/2015 10:54 am : link
Seattle fans and especially Seattle players (and even some people on here) are acting like they're the greatest fucking thing on the planet. Some humble pie is exactly what the doctor ordered.
Hawks
mdc1 : 1/19/2015 11:02 am : link
Brady will not be running up and down the field against the Hawks defense, feel good about that beating they laid down on a Colts team that really has not talent beyond Luck and some inconsistent receivers.
the general feeling I have is much like 10 years ago
Greg from LI : 1/19/2015 11:05 am : link
I hate that I have to pull for the Patriots, but I have no choice.
Pjcas Has Good Points
Trainmaster : 1/19/2015 11:11 am : link
For me, as long as the Packers (and the week before, the Cowboys) were eliminated, all is good.

Overall, I think I'm going to root more strongly against the Pats:

1) Don't want them to get SB #4 and tie the Giants.
2) Don't want Brady to tie Montana and Bradshaw (I can't stand Mr "We're only going to score 17 points".

However,

1) I don't like Seattle getting back to back Super Bowls.
2) I don't like Seattle tying the Giants as the only NFC repeat Super Bowl winner since 2000.
3) I agree the whole "12th man thing" is annoying.
4) Richard Sherman is a pompous ass.
5) There is something to be said for "Belichick and Brady are 4-0 in SBs, except 0-2 versus the Giants".
I hate both
geemanfan : 1/19/2015 11:13 am : link

I have no issues rooting for the Pats, really. I'd like to see them beat Seattle.

ColHowPepper : 1/19/2015 11:16 am : link
spock (I root for NFC) - yes
Milton (BB is on loan to Pats, lol) - yes, but I go with 'Hawks
gidiefor - no

I am hoping for a good SB. Seahawks look like they have major issues defending the run, and Blount looked scary good yesterday.

A good matchup of defensive masterminds and creative offenses
I was

in Providence during the divisional playoffs weekend. All the Pats jerseys everywhere. I was wearing my Giants hat and while all the Pats fans walk around with their chests out, when they see the NY on the lid, they get deflated.

This -- so much this!
I cannot express how
giantgiantfan : 1/19/2015 12:18 pm : link
much I want the Patriots to absolutely destroy Seattle. Like 30+ points. After a gut it out win like yesterday I don't see how Seattle doesn't feel like a repeat is their destiny now though. However, the Pats get some amazing game tape and how to shut down Seattles offense and the Patriots will never go into a count down the clock shell like the wimpy Packers did.

Most of my hate for Seattle comes from an insufferable friend I have, looking at him with his team getting dismantled during the the Super Bowl is third only to the Giants winning a Super Bowl (1st) and no other NFC east team winning the big one (2nd).
Rootin hard for the Pats on this one
Sonic Youth : 1/19/2015 12:42 pm : link
Gidiefor's rationale is one of the biggest parts, but on top of that:

1) Fuck Seattle and their 9/11 comments
2) Fuck their fake noise in their stadium
3) Fuck their perceived east coast bias slight, and subsequent hatred of anything from the Norhteast
4) Brady is greatness. He might be cocky, but I don't think he's a dick.
5) Bill B
6) NE signs a ton of Rutgers players, which is where I went to college.
7) I can't be the only one who thinks Marshawn Lynch is a dick, can I? You're getting paid millions to play football, stop being such a bitchboy and talk to the media that makes your sport as popular as it is, and stop[ grabbing your dick for five fucking seconds, you stupid fuck.
8) Russell Wilson is either the most perfect person on earth, or fake as fuck.
Oh, also
Sonic Youth : 1/19/2015 12:44 pm : link
Giants / Hawks have had some good games sinceI can begin to remember games clearly (2002), and Hawks fans I've encountered have been dicks about most of all of them.

05 Jay Feely game? Didn't we blow a lead to them in 02, as well? Couple blowouts in their building, then we blew them out a few times. Just fuck that team. I don't want them to go back to back at all. I was sick of this team by March 2014.
As a Giants fan married to a Pats fan, definitely rooting for Pats.
mamu : 1/19/2015 1:10 pm : link
For lots of the reasons listed above, and also living in Boston and being Sox, C's, and B's fans, it would be nice for this area to have another championship after going so long without one.

2013 seems like an eternity ago.
If Seattle plays anything like they did against GB
nicky43 : 1/19/2015 1:11 pm : link
The Pats have this in the bag. Seattle got so completely lucky with the TD pass, the Extra 2 Point pass, and the onsides kick. I know anything can happen in football but they did NOT deserve the to win that game.

Fuck New England
Kulish29 : 1/19/2015 1:18 pm : link
For the simple fact that, if they win, their stupid fucking mouth breathing fans will inevitably chant, "Yankees Suck!" at the rally.

Plus, my family is full of Pats fans.

Go Hawks.

Actually I'm the opposite, if Giants are out, I prefer to see an AFC team... "if we cant have it, neither can they". Kind of childish probably, but its the "selfish fan" in me.

Exception is GB, who I generally like, or if its an AFC I dislike
I've got this figured out...
g-man lance : 1/19/2015 4:06 pm : link
I'm rooting for the Patsies to win a controversy laden game. That prevents the Hawks from two in a row and keeps the Pats fans a bit in check and with Brady's only SB losses from the Giants.
This is why I will

It hurts to say but, GO SEATTLE!
I'm just rooting for a good game
WeatherMan : 1/19/2015 6:13 pm : link
if the Pats win we stand tall as their nemesis, if the Seahawks win Brady gets humbled and Richard Sherman has another rant for the ages. Solid outcome either way.
yeah
bc4life : 1/19/2015 6:28 pm : link
listening to Sherman's big mouth - that's something to look forward to.
There is something about Seattle that irks me

You mean like pumping in crowd noise to make their stadium harder to play in?
i love seattle's passion
RasputinPrime : 1/19/2015 9:00 pm : link
on both sides of the ball. They may have the best RB, CB, FS and SS in the game at the moment. Wilson is an easy player to get behind.

Seahawks all the way. The Patriots and Cowboys losing is almost as much fun as the Giants winning.

I admire excellence at all levels...
bw in dc : 1/19/2015 9:07 pm : link
What the Patriots have done under the leadership of Kraft, Belichick, and Brady is simply brilliant. There ability to stay in contention every year is great theater. See some great similarities between them and the Spurs...

So I will root for them and hope Belichick and Brady further enhance their legacies..
