I told you Quinn was gone.... That was Tom's plan.... so too with Fewell. Fewell didn't have a ferry godfather. Tom would have axed Quinn last year. Quinn is bulletproof. The only thing forced on Tom has been Quinn.
Just to clear things up...
Appreciate Tom. You will miss him when he's gone.
We are currently more like Green Bay STs then Seattle. We need to figure out a way to right that ship.
lmfao
I don't believe this take on Quinn at all
Sorry. Autocorrect.
And yes, I hope everyone appreciates Tom. I just wish the FO did a better job getting him talent. We've been too hit and miss for most of the time Tom's been here on draft choices, we need more guys "who can play"...not necessarily superstars!

You don't actually believe that Gilbride retired on his own last year, do you?
It makes sense....
And his hair was perfect.

If he wanted Quinn gone he would be..If he's a Tisch guy, he could always be given an organizational job..If Quinn was forced on TC year after year, TC would resign..He is NEVER told how to run his onfield operations..

I do too and I also believe Mara when he recently stated that he would never dictate the staff of a HC with Tom's credentials. Gilbride also may have considered that the O-line was so broke it would take more than a year to fix it and didn't want to be part of another miserable season. If he thought that, he would have been correct too.
Gilbride knew he was going to be fired, and retired instead. If you think it was his choice and he was going to come back you haven't been paying attention. Gilbride saw the writing on the wall.
There was zero chance he wasn't getting fired, and not by Tom, by Mara. When the owner says the offense is broken you know you're finished.
And if you have paid attention to everything Gilbride has said since, it supports the theory that Mara was going to fire him if he didn't retire.
Every beat writer basically said at the time that he was going to be fired if he didn't retire, too.

Plausible

There was an article on it recently where Gilbride basically said it himself, IIRC. I couldn't find the article in my 30 seconds of Googling.
Basically, he retired which saved me from having to fire him.
I'm sorry, but this is ludicrous...

reading a contention that Steve Tisch is forcing a special teams coordinator on Tom Coughlin? I mean, is that really what I am reading?
Yes, and the gaggle of dim bulbs is still buying what this cretin is selling.
Not saying this cvics is right, but stuff like that happens in industry all the time.

Not in the football industry when wins and losses are counted weekly, and coaches are always expected to produce a top level product or they lose their job. Do you honestly think someone like Tom Coughlin is going to let a part owner force a STs coach down his throat? That TC would actually have to submit to that or lose his job?
If you don't like what he's saying or how he's wording things, ignore him and don't fuck it up for everyone else.
Had the offense not completely sputtered out of control, he could have decided to hang around for one more year, but I'm positive he wasn't forced out. He had been ready to go since after the '11 season, when his wife moved back to RI. The only reason he hung around was to mentor his son.
-We saw TC yelling at Quinn on the sidelines. He doesn't like the guy.
-The hiring of Larry Izzo as Assistant Special Teams coach was probably made by Coughlin to minimize Quinn's damage. Izzo is really Coughlin's guy.
