NFT: car leasing question

lpdcan28 : 1/21/2015 8:08 am
looking at acura, infiniti, and Cadillac car to lease. a few people told me that the acura and infiniti brands hold their value better and if I want to get out of my lease in two years (for a three year lease) I should be able to w/out rolling in payments cause of equity and resale? I currently have a caddy cts lease that is up soon. so I am shopping around. any advice from people that lease or like to get out of their leases early would be great. thanks.

All the companies are pretty good at determining the residual values of the car at the end of the lease term. If you like a new car every two years....just go ahead and lease the car for two years.

Three years is typically the sweet spot for high line vehicles. One other thing to look at is how forgiving they are to damage to the vehicle at the end of the lease. Some companies can really nickle and dime you to death. Others like Lexus and Mercedes ignore most dings and curb rash.

Some auto makers let you out 6 months early if you are getting another one of their cars...

3 years goes quick..

Just leased the 2015 Q50S Hybrid w/ Navigation for $417 incl taxes. Paid dealer fees at signing.

From my shopping around Infiniti was more aggressive on leases than comparable brands (there was a $2.5K dealer incentive in December + VPP discount gave an additional $2.5K off). BMW is pretty aggressive as well..I'm coming from an Audi A5 and love the Q50 so far.

3 years, then you are contractually obligated for that term. So, getting out a year early would be tricky and you would still have to account for the remaining lease payments...i.e. rolling them into your new lease.
